It has been a dry fall so far and no mushrooms are growing for this #mushroommonday
But the dry weather has helped me discover some strange finds.
I found this ancient dryad's saddle growing out the knot hole of a tree. It is ancient and perfectly dehydrated.
The original pores have fallen off and now there is the smooth white flesh exposed underneath.
A larger one was also growing beneath the smaller one.
They turn into a brick red color when they are this old and dried out.
Now for a fake mushroom I found at a farm. Sadly this is all I have to look for without the rain.
The farmer, or the farmer's kids planted it in between a couple fallen trees.
It looks like these tree logs are collecting other colors of mushrooms and a container with a strange dried up plant inside.
This morning it finally started downpouring so I'm hoping the fall mushrooms will finally begin to emerge. That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
