For me, it couldn't be better ! And for good reason, at almost thirty, I just got my driving licence :) I know that the average age is much lower in general, especially if you don't live in a city... As for me, I arrived in Paris when I was about 15 and I didn't need one until now.
Later on, I will explain why this became an emergency...!
So I took my exam last Friday morning. There were four of us taking it and I think only two of us got it !
The exam went well, I passed first as I had driven to the centre. The inspector wasn't laughing at all, but I wasn't too anxious, just a healthy apprehension :)
Apart from a hesitation on a right of way - a truck on my right that didn't want to pass - everything went well. However, the instructor told me that it seemed to have crumpled the inspector and he said :
"You've got it at 65%".
In my head I was like, "65% isn't that much...". But he immediately told me that he would rather tell me that and that it was a deserved joy to get it.
... And that's what happened today ! A friend texted me this morning asking for my results and I have to say that it had almost completely slipped my mind !

So I logged on to the government platform and in a few clicks I discovered the positive result ! I'm really happy to have obtained 29 out of 31 points but I have to specify an important detail: I took it in automatic gearbox :) Here in France, the licence and driving hours are very expensive and I didn't feel like doing 50 hours. I live in Paris and it's much more expensive than in the countryside...
Speaking of the countryside...
I told you that I would come to our objectives. We have been wanting to get out of the city for several years. Of course, there is life -natural - but it is framed, surrounded by concrete and I don't really have anything to do there anymore. I garden, I do my shopping, I barely consume and I only see a few friends. In a word, I don't really belong here anymore !
"I don't want to live in the city anymore, but to live the city".
This is what I repeat quite often and I really believe it. The more I advance in my life, the more I feel I am becoming humble and respectful of what surrounds me and constitutes the Whole of which I am a part. Here in Paris, nobody respects anything but expects - obviously - to be respected... It just doesn't work that way !
I have made reciprocity one of my mottos and I know that this is a sure way to happiness. Don't do to others what you wouldn't wish on yourself. I've been living this way for years and as very little bad happens to me, I tend to think it's true...
So expect to hear soon about our urban exodus, as this step was important to go and visit and find our future home 😉

De mon côté, ça ne pourrait aller mieux ! Et pour cause, à presque trente ans, je viens d'avoir mon permis de conduire :) Je sais que la moyenne d'âge est bien plus basse en général, surtout si on ne vit pas en ville... Pour ma part, je suis arrivé à Paris vers 15 ans et je n'en avais pas eu besoin jusqu'ici.
Plus loin, je vous expliquerai pourquoi cela devenait dès lors une urgence ...!
J'ai donc passé mon examen vendredi dernier matin. Nous étions quatre à le passer et je pense que nous avons seulement été deux à l'obtenir !
L'examen s'est bien déroulé, je suis passé le premier comme j'avais conduit jusqu'au centre. l'inspectrice ne rigolait pas du tout, mais je n'étais pas trop anxieux, juste une saine appréhension :)
Mise à part une hésitation sur une priorité - un camion sur ma droite qui n'avait pas envie de passer - tout s'est bien déroulé. Pourtant le moniteur m'a dit que cela semblait avoir chiffonné l'inspectrice et il m'a dit : "Tu l'as à 65%"
Dans ma tête, j'étais là "65% ça ne fait quand même pas beaucoup..." Mais il m'a tout de suite dit qu'il préférait me dire cela et que cela soit une joie méritée de l'obtenir.
Et c'est ce qui s'est passé aujourd'hui !!! Un ami m'a envoyé un message ce matin pour me demander mes résultats et je dois dire que cela m'était presque complètement sorti de la tête !

J'habite à Paris et c'est bien plus coûteux qu'à la campagne...
En parlant de la campagne justement...
Je vous avais dit que j'en viendrai à nos objectifs. Cela fait plusieurs années que nous souhaitons partir de la ville. Certes, il y a de la vie -naturelle - mais celle-ci est encadrée, encerclée de béton et je n'ai plus vraiment rien à y faire. Je jardine, fais mes conserve, consomme à peine et vois que de rares amis. En un mot comme en cent, je n'ai plus vraiment ma place ici !
"Je ne veux plus vivre en ville, mais vivre la ville"
Voilà ce que je répète assez souvent et j'y crois véritablement. Plus j'avance dans ma vie, plus j'ai le sentiment de devenir humble et respectueux de ce qui m'entoure et constitue le Tout dont je fais partie. Ici, à Paris, personne ne respecte rien mais attend - bien évidemment - d'être respecté... Cela ne fonctionne juste pas ainsi !
J'ai fait de la réciprocité un de mes maîtres mots et je sais que cela est une voie certaine pour le bonheur. Ne fais pas aux autres ce que tu ne te souhaite pas à toi-même. Cela fais des années que je vis ainsi et comme il ne m'arrive très peu de choses négatives, j'ai tendance à penser que c'est vrai...
Attendez-vous donc à avoir des nouvelles prochaines de notre exode urbain, car cette étape était importante pour aller faire des visites et trouver notre future demeure 😉
