Sometimes people develop an addiction over time and they are unable to take notice of them. People need some self realization to get over the addiction. Addiction is state of being getting habitual to certain thing. It may be into some bad things in life or good things in life. There are multiple instances where we get notice of such thing. In my village people are addicted to playing cards and drinking alcohal. Example of good habits include, visiting temple or drinking milk everyday. When a person is in addiction they are unable to resist them. I too started getting into an addiction and now after realizing it take steps to correct myself.

I had once addicted of consuming ready to eat snacks item. But I get over it and now felt good. Now I develop a new addiction of spending time on mobile. Recently, I realized that I spend maximum hour watching my mobile screen. From being active on #hive to watching movies to reading news. My screen on time has increased drastically. from 4 AM to 10 PM, I remain hooked to mobile screen for most of the time. There is always something interesting that keep me hooked to it. Be it watching shorts or reading some news on silver screen or word affairs. This realization comes with a cost. I noticed a blurry vision lately, I am unable to read on my mobile at a close distance say approx. 25 cm . This is not a good sign, as a poor vision may lead to various health effects. I agree that as we age, as do face certain health issue and poor eye sight is one one of the primary stage. A timely corrective measure could help to protect these from deteriorating the condition to worst.
The development of smartphone has took the mankind with a surprise. While many people find it worthy , its addiction is quite dangerous. Now as a I figured out, my mistake, it is the time to take some correction measure. Getting rid of any addiction is not easy, unless and untill u have strong mindset and guts to do away with it. As we get too dependent on smartphone with many tasks to perform, simly gettting rid of it is not easy. I have been operating my banks as well as stocks trading through mobile application, so throwing away the phone is not in the list. The only way left is to keep myself distant from it as much as possible. Starting the good things in life beginns with small steps. So I started distancing myself away from it. Here are certain measures I started taking to part away from mobile screen :
keeping the phone away from bed at the time of sleeping. This allow not to get hold of it the first thing in the morning.
Not carrying the phone when I go outside. There is no urgency and any call can be entertained later.
Switching back to playing friendly chess games with other peoole to keep myself engaged.
Accessing hive platform through my laptop. This allows me to devote less time. But sounds much better.
Accessing or carrying the device only when I needed it. Like while going to market for payment purpose. Etc.
By adopting to these measures, I am now finding myself in better frame of mind. I find relieved about unwanted stress and worries. Everything appears better and more importantly my eyes are getting much needed rest. Contnous exposure to screen may harm it mkre than what it appears to us.
