The Patient is a TV series starring two actors of some relevance, although I didn't recognize either of them at first. Domhnall Gleeson plays Sam Fortner, a man of about 35 or so with serious psychological problems related to his father's abuse during his childhood. He is a serial killer, and has already had a few victims by the time he goes to therapy with Dr Strauss. Being a prisoner of a person like Sam is a situation that could unnerve anyone, even though Sam always showed (or tried) to be respectful to his therapist, leaving aside the fact that he kidnapped him and keeps him chained in his house. Beyond the therapy of a serial killer, other somewhat secondary themes are also addressed, such as Judaism in Dr Strauss' family, the conflict between his orthodox son (Ezra) Beth, and his "liberal" Jewish mother. Shoshana, Dr Strauss' other daughter, Shoshana, seems to be the sanest person in the whole series.
What could go wrong? What is the outcome of this story? So far, I haven't mentioned anything that could really be a spoiler. Something I liked in this series, which perhaps other series should copy, is the fact that not all the chapters are the same length. The first ones last barely 20 minutes, while the last three last 40 minutes or so. I think that in some series it is good to put short chapters at the beginning to make the viewer see what the story is about quickly, without wasting too much time, and then develop more as the story progresses.
Personally, I was expecting a bit more from the ending, but I thought it was a fair ending under the circumstances. It's easy, from a viewer's position, to say that other solutions could have been searched for, but that's part of the tension and suspense that exists in this type of very psychological series or movie.
I came to this series through a recommendation from the Star+ App. I have it so I can watch Formula 1 races, although thanks to it I can also watch some series and movies from the FX network.

Ser prisionero de una persona como Sam es una situación que podría nervioso a cualquiera, a pesar de que Sam siempre se mostró (o intentó) ser respetuoso con su terapeuta, dejando de lado el hecho de que lo secuestró y lo mantiene encadenado en su casa. Más allá de la terapia de un asesino en serie, también se abordan otras temáticas un poco secundarias como el judaísmo en la familia del Dr Strauss, el conflicto entre su hijo ortodoxo (Ezra) Beth, y su madre judía "liberal".
