(Review - La sociedad de la nieve)
Based on a true story, where a plane with 45 people on board crashes in the Andes mountain range in 1972, leaving the majority of them lifeless, with only 16 survivors in the end, after 72 days of suffering and torment.
Those who survived the initial impact succumbed one by one due to being exposed to one of the harshest and ruthless environments in the world: The extreme cold. The remaining survivors resorted to primitive instinctual customs to survive until they were eventually rescued.
I vividly remember when I traveled to Mendoza in Argentina and was near the location. The guides told us, pointing with a finger to a inhospitable spot in the mountains: There were the rugby players and there is a monument in their honor at 4000 meters in height. I couldn't help but feel very close to this movie having witnessed that sight with my own eyes, so it deserved my review.
Basada en un hecho real donde un avión con 45 personas en el, en el año de 1972, se estrella en la cordillera de Los Andes dejando sin vida a la mayoría de los cuales, solo sobreviven 16 al final, luego de 72 días de sufrimientos y calvarios.
Los que sobrevivieron al primer impacto, sucumbían uno por uno al estar expuestos a uno de los entornos mas hostiles y despiadados del mundo: El frio extremo. Los que quedaron, recurrieron a costumbres primitivas de instinto para sobrevivir hasta que finalmente, fueron rescatados.
Recuerdo perfectamente cuando viajé a Mendoza en Argentina y estuve cerca del lugar. Los guías nos dijeron , apuntando con un dedo hacia un lugar inhóspito de la cordillera: Allí estuvieron los rugbiers y hay un monumento en su honor a 4000 mtrs de altura. No pude evitar sentirme muy cercana a esta pelicula al haber contemplado dicho sitio con mis propios ojos así que ameritaba mi reseña.
Starting with the lives of our protagonists, their emotional bonds and as young people full of projects, goals, dreams, it makes the impact at the time of the accident even more raw and moving to know that from one moment to the next, everything is lost and those dreams are slowly fading.
Excellent plot development, terrifyingly moving, and I say terrifying because what these kids went through was a ordeal, even worse than any fictional horror movie, and besides, it is surprising not only what they did to survive in that hostile environment but also, the journey of two of the survivors is astonishing. A total example of survival instinct, of resilience in carrying out a journey with no knowledge of mountaineering. A feat almost impossible for many.
Comenzando con las vidas de nuestros protagonistas , sus vínculos afectivos y como jóvenes repletos de proyectos, metas, sueños, hace que el impacto a la hora del accidente, sea mas crudo y conmovedor al saber que de un momento al otro, todo se ve perdido y aquellos sueños se van apagando poco a poco.
Excelente desarrollo de trama, aterradoramente conmovedora y digo aterradora porque lo que vivieron estos chicos fue un calvario, aun peor que cualquier película de terror ficticio y además, es sorprendente no solo lo que hicieron para sobrevivir en ese entorno hostil sino, que asombra la travesía de dos de los sobrevivientes. Un ejemplo total de instinto de supervivencia, de resiliencia al realizar una travesía sin conocimiento alguno de alpinismo. Una proeza casi imposible para muchos.
An artwork that completely honors these heroes who did what they did to survive and try to make everyone survive.
Totally shocking scenes, especially the accident and the avalanche. Everything exquisitely achieved so that it gets into your brain and you never forget it, perfect for not forgetting these young people who achieved miraculous things.
For many, it is heavy, perhaps because of the slow pace shown throughout almost the entire production, but for me, that is the strongest point of the film because by portraying this, you can feel what they felt, that the days didn't pass and desperation increased day by day, seeing that help passed over them and they were not seen.
Una obra de arte que hace totalmente honor a estos héroes que hicieron lo que hicieron para sobrevivir y tratar de que todos sobrevivan.
Escenas totalmente impactantes sobre todo la del accidente y La avalancha. Todo exquisitamente logrado para que se te meta en tu cerebro y nunca mas lo olvides , perfecto para no olvidar a estos jóvenes que lograron cosas milagrosas.
Para muchos es pesada quizá por el paso lento que muestran de los días durante casi toda la producción pero para mi, ese es el punto mas fuerte de la película ya que al plasmar esto, se puede sentir lo que ellos, que los días no pasaban mas y la desesperación aumentaba día a día al ver que la ayuda pasa por encima de ellos y no los ven.
Heartbreaking, moving, terrifying, inspiring, treated with seriousness, with respect, visually perfect and the scripts completely polished, profound, admirable characters, I don't have enough adjectives to qualify this gem of a film. I must say that Netflix did an excellent job and told the story as it had to be told, without taboos or euphemisms.
I give it a 10/10. Highly recommended, just be prepared with a few tissues because you won't be able to avoid shedding tears for this story that will remain in the memory of Uruguay/Argentina forever and now, around the world. Greetings!
Desgarradora, conmovedora, terrorífica, inspiradora, tratada con seriedad, con respeto, visualmente perfecta y los guiones totalmente pulcros , profundos, personajes admirables, no me alcanzan los adjetivos para calificar esta joya del cine. Debo decir que Netflix se lucio y se conto, como se tenia que contar, sin tapujos ni eufemismos.
Le doy un 10/10. Totalmente recomendada eso si, prepara unos cuantos pañuelos porque no podrás evitar derramar lagrimas por esta historia que estará para siempre en la memoria de Uruguay/Argentina y ahora, en todo el mundo ¡Saludos!
