Los de mas de 30 años ¿Quién no recuerda la existencia de los VHS? Yo si . Recuerdo ir siempre de pequeña al video club donde elegías una película para alquilar en este formato. Yo siempre iba a la sección de terror y siempre me encontraba obras entrañables del mismo.
El día de hoy, hablaré sobre la película titulada "VHS" la cual, es una película de las que me gustan, de horror con el subgénero de metraje encontrado al estilo bruja de Blair solo que con otra vuelta de tuerca aunque debo decir que, no le llega ni a los talones a su antecesor esta producción pero tiene sus momentos.
Cabe aclarar que esta es una saga de 7 películas, una miniserie y creo que dos películas mas pero hoy, hablaré de la primera de todas del año 2012 ya que para mí , es una de las mejores sino la mejor y que, creo era suficiente con una ya que en las demás es mas de lo mismo que se ve en esta pero para maratonear, están bien.

Today, I will talk about the movie titled "VHS" which is a type of movie I enjoy, a horror film with the subgenre of found footage like The Blair Witch Project but with a twist. I must say, it doesn't come close to its predecessor, but it has its moments.
It should be noted that this is a franchise of 7 films, a miniseries, and I believe two more movies, but today I will talk about the first one from 2012 as, for me, it is one of the best if not the best. I think one was enough as in the others, it's more of the same seen in this one, but they are good for binge-watching.

La trama es simple: Un grupo de jóvenes malandros entran a una casa a hacer de las suyas y allí, encuentran una serie de cintas VHS cuyo contenido es aterrador ya que cuentan historias escalofriantes no conectadas entre si.
La trama no varía en el resto de películas como ya dije pero lo que varía son las historias sueltas que se van contando aunque para mi, la mas icónica es la primera de todas, donde arranca todo y es una de las que mas recuerdo ya que a veces bromeo con mi esposo diciéndole : "Me gustas". Si ven esta peli, sabrán la connotación que tiene y porque se pone pálido cuando le digo esto.
The plot is simple: A group of young troublemakers break into a house to do their thing, and there, they find a series of VHS tapes whose content is terrifying as they tell chilling stories not connected to each other.
The plot remains the same in the rest of the movies as I already said, but what varies are the individual stories that are told, although for me, the most iconic is the first of all, where everything starts and is one of the ones I remember the most because sometimes I joke with my husband telling him: "I like you". If you watch this movie, you will know the connotation it has and why he turns pale when I say this.

El metraje encontrado tiene joyitas como Blair witch , Sinister y Paranormal activity. VHS , tiene su encanto pero ciertamente, no es de las mejores de su genero pero logra diferenciarse de las demás por contar mini historias de terror diferentes lo cual para mi, es positivo ya que para los amantes del poco suspenso es un golpe de suerte toparse con esta joya en bruto.
La duración es excesiva, creo que con 3 historias cortas hubiera estado bien ya que acercándose al final, todo iba perdiendo fuerza y ya no causaba el mismo impacto que las primeras.
The found footage has gems like Blair Witch, Sinister, and Paranormal Activity. VHS has its charm but certainly, it is not among the best of its genre but manages to differentiate itself from the others by telling different mini horror stories which for me, is positive since for lovers of a little suspense it is a stroke of luck to come across this rough gem.
The duration is excessive, I believe that with 3 short stories it would have been fine since as it approached the end, everything was losing strength and no longer caused the same impact as the first ones.

Una película que recomiendo totalmente para maratonear un rato pero si buscas originalidad y nuevas experiencias aterradoras, acá no es el sitio adecuado aunque si, te pegaras varias sorpresas ya que algunas historias son de pesadillas.
VHS, un film entrañable del metraje encontrado que no ocupa finalidad alguna mas que ofrecer varias perspectivas del horror de la mano de varios directores (Si, varios) creando como resultado final, un producto extraño, grotesco en cierto punto pero agradable de ver en una noche de lluvia a oscuras. Le doy un 8 de 10 ¡Saludos!
A movie that I totally recommend for binge-watching for a while, but if you're looking for originality and new terrifying experiences, this is not the right place, although you will be surprised several times since some stories are nightmares.
VHS, a beloved found footage film that serves no purpose other than to offer various perspectives of horror from several directors (Yes, several), creating as a final result a strange, grotesque but enjoyable product to watch on a dark, rainy night. I give it an 8 out of 10. Greetings!
