Un saludo a esta maravillosa comunidad de cinéfilos, estoy devuelta después de un largo tiempo con una review de una pelicula bastante de nicho y a la vez de culto, la cual me sorprendió bastante lo desapercibida que ha pasado con los años, siendo una pionera en su genero e inspirando a otras grandes franquicias del entretenimiento.

El film se sitúa en un futuro post-apocalíptico en 2024, tras una devastadora guerra nuclear. El relato se centra en Vic (interpretado por Don Johnson), un joven que se pierde en un mundo desolado junto a su perro telepático, Blood. La película es bastante peculiar y te deja pensando durante un largo rato. Se exploran asuntos como la supervivencia, la ética y el vínculo entre seres humanos y animales en un ambiente extremo. Vic, propulsado por sus instintos primordiales, se ve dominado por sus anhelos de comida y sexo, mientras que Blood se presenta como una figura más lógica y estratégica. Además, la película satiriza la sociedad conservadora de Estados Unidos mediante la comunidad subterránea que Vic visita.

Por un lado, se aprecia su singularidad y la aplicación del humor negro para representar un mundo post-apocalíptico. Estas 2 franquicias presentes en la imagen le deben todo su mundo e historia a esta extraña pelicula, pues en similitudes simples, el protagonista ya sea en la pelicla o el videojuego, recorren un paramo desolado de lo que alguna vez fue Norteamérica, devastada por las incontables guerras y el apocalipsis nuclear, derivando ya sean en mutantes, pandillas que visten ropa con basura y demás elementos.

Por lo menos, un elemento en común más notorio con fallout y esta película es la sociedad subterranea que vive estancada en el tiempo, ignorando casi por completo lo que ocurre en la superficie. Junto también con su humor negro caracteristico, pues el final de esta pelicula es un poco absurdo como turbio, pero refleja la clase de historia que quiere contar.

Along with its characteristic black humor, the ending of this movie is a bit absurd as well as murky, but it reflects the kind of story it wants to tell.

Calificación/Rating

La pelicula tiene algunas carencias como escenas con tomas y cortes raros, se nota un poco el escaso presupuesto con la cual fue hecha, sin embargo se aprecia el hecho de haber sido la peli que dio pie a todo este genero tan asombroso. Hay momentos en que la historia me sacó bastante de onda, y momentos en los que sentí algo de tristeza, principalmente porque me gustan los animales y me da melancolía cuando estos se ponen tristes. La actuación del protagonista no me termina de convencer, algunas cosas no me terminaban de compaginar con el personaje, pero me agradó el como se desenvolvía con el perro, lo cual debió ser un trabajo difícil por las limitaciones de la época, ya que seguramente debieron entrenarlos muy bien para que actuase en determinados momentos.

Pude observar algunas similitudes con uno de mis juegos favoritos como lo es fallout. Esta película solo nos muestra lo que se ve en pantalla, poco se habla de las guerras que dieron origen a ese mundo devastado. La novela original habla sobre como a sociedad de los 70´s aun vivía en una sociedad moralista pero a la par hipocrita en medio de la guerra fría que no se sabía cuando iba a estallar, y aquí vemos una pequeña perspectiva de lo que pudiese haber sucedido si las cosas se hubiesen puesto peor. Le doy una calificación de 7.3, si te gusta el genero post apocaliptico, quieres conocer sus orígenes y demás, te recomiendo esta pelicula, me gustó realmente, a pesar de sus carencias. Siento que su historia podía dar para mucho más, pero no profundizaron en ello, quizás porque ya no había un mundo o país, solo las ruinas de lo que algunas vez fue sociedad y no hacía falta recurrir a ello. The movie has some shortcomings such as scenes with weird shots and cuts, the low budget with which it was made is a little noticeable, however it is appreciated the fact of having been the film that gave rise to all this amazing genre. There are moments in which the story got on my nerves, and moments in which I felt a little sad, mainly because I like animals and I get melancholy when they get sad. The performance of the main character didn't convince me, some things didn't quite fit the character, but I liked the way he handled himself with the dog, which must have been a difficult job due to the limitations of the time, since they probably had to train them very well for him to act in certain moments.

I could see some similarities with one of my favorite games like fallout. This movie only shows us what is seen on screen, little is said about the wars that gave rise to this devastated world. The original novel talks about how the society of the 70's still lived in a moralistic but hypocritical society in the middle of the cold war that was not known when it was going to break out, and here we see a small perspective of what could have happened if things had gotten worse. I give it a rating of 7.3, if you like the post apocalyptic genre, want to know its origins and so on, I recommend this movie, I really liked it, despite its shortcomings. I feel that its story could give for much more, but they didn't delve into it, maybe because there was no longer a world or country, only the ruins of what once was society and there was no need to resort to it.
