Hello, internet people! Today I want to talk about my favourite Naruto character who has gone from being one of the best and most dangerous ninjas, to a complete useless character because of the convenience of the script.
¡Hola, gente de internet! Hoy quiero hablar de mi personaje preferido de Naruto y el cuál ha pasado de ser uno de los mejores ninjas y más peligrosos, a un completo inútil por causa de la conveniencia de guion.
Gaara of the desert, the current Kazekage of the Sunagakure (Sand Village), we first met him and his siblings at the Chunin exams, which were held in the Leaf Village.
Gaara del desierto, es el actual Kazekage de la aldea de la arena, lo conocemos por primera vez junto a sus hermanos en los exámenes Chunin, que se celebraron en la aldea de la hoja.
He has an apathetic personality, is intelligent, cunning, calculating and uses fear, domination and intimidation to get what he wants. He is a Jinchuriki (he has within him, sealed, the spirit of one tail, Shukaku) and his Kekkei Genkai is to use the sand at will for his fights.
Tiene una personalidad apática, es inteligente, astuto, calculador y emplea el miedo, la dominación y la intimidación para conseguir lo que quiere. Es un Jinchuriki (tiene dentro de si, sellado, el espíritu de una cola, Shukaku) y su Kekkei Genkai es emplear la arena a su antojo para sus peleas.
Even for his first appearances, together with his brothers, he is the villain, however, soon, we as viewers, as well as they themselves, discover that they were manipulated by the real villain: Orochimaru, and after some diplomatic meetings with the new leader of Konohagakure (the leaf village), Tsunade, these three young siblings become allies of the village.
Incluso para sus primeras apariciones, junto a sus hermanos, es el villano, sin embargo, pronto, tanto nosotros como espectadores, así como ellos mismos, descubren que fueron manipulados por el verdadero villano: Orochimaru, es así como luego de algunas reuniones diplomáticas con la nueva lider de la aldea de la hoja, Tsunade, estos tres jóvenes se vuelven aliados de la aldea.
Gaara is one of the characters that has a great evolution, he goes from being as I described him, to a loyal friend, capable of putting his life at risk for his loved ones, although this change is attributed to Naruto and his power of persuasion, the beginning of the whole change was made by Rock Lee with what I dare to say is one of the best fights of the anime. The day of that fight, Gaara felt for the first time in his life, fear and also realized that he was not completely invulnerable, also the courage and determination of Rock Lee, like it or not, surprised him and made him respect him and all that is something that kept going around in his head until his fight with Naruto, where he was finally persuaded by Naruto to start taking charge of his own life and do something useful with it. Gaara es uno de los personajes que tiene una gran evolución, pasa de ser tal como lo describí, a un amigo leal, capaz de poner su vida en riesgo por sus allegados, si bien este cambio se le adjudica a Naruto y su poder de persuasión, el inicio de todo el cambio lo hizo Rock Lee con la que me atrevo a decir es una de las mejores peleas del anime. El día de esa pelea, Gaara sintió por primera vez en su vida, miedo y también se dio cuenta de que no era del todo invulnerable, además el valor y la determinación de Rock Lee, lo quiera o no, le sorprendió y lo hizo respetarlo, y todo eso es algo que siguió dando vueltas en su cabeza hasta su pelea con Naruto, donde finalmente fue persuadido por Naruto para empezar a tomar las riendas de su propia vida y hacer algo de provecho con ella. Another thing I love about Gaara, is how from being the outcast of his village (even being the son of the leader) he gains their respect and admiration as well as their affection and even when he becomes Kazekage (and there are still people who don't follow him) he practically gives his life to protect his village and also when he is kidnapped, almost all the ninjas of his village go to look for him with a delagation from the Leaf village and when he is finally revived, everyone celebrates his return, touching him.
Otra de las cosas que me encantan de Gaara, es como de ser el marginado de su aldea (aun siendo el hijo del líder) se gana el respeto y la admiración de ellos además del cariño de estos e incluso, cuando se vuelve Kazekage (y aún hay gente que no lo sigue) prácticamente da su vida por proteger su aldea y asimismo cuando es secuestrado, casi todos los ninjas de su aldea van a buscarlo con una delegación de la aldea de la Hoja y cuando finalmente es revivido, todo el mundo celebra su vuelta, conmoviéndolo.
For the duration of Naruto and Nauto Shippuden, I always loved the fights where Gaara was involved as he was quite a strong and capable ninja and his calm and serious personality was quite appealing. However when Boruto was developed, with the need to give prominence to the next generation, all the adult ninja, even the strongest, are constantly ridiculed and their abilities are downplayed to the point of unlikelihood.
Durante la duración de Naruto y Nauto Shippuden, siempre amé las peleas donde Gaara estuvo involucrado, ya que era un ninja bastante fuerte y capaz, su personalidad era tranquila y seria, bastante atractiva. Sin embargo cuando Boruto fue desarrollado, con la necesidad de darle protagonismo a la siguiente generación, todos los ninjas adultos, incluso los más fuertes, son constantemente ridiculizados y sus habilidades son minimizadas hasta rayar en lo inverosímil.
I understand that Boruto is about the next generation but that does not justify that to give prominence to children, they make adults useless, because it is something that makes no sense at all, for example, in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, although Sasuke and Naruto, as well as their peers were very good and very strong, their teachers and village leaders, even if they lost a battle they did it after showing a wide range of powerful jutsu and worthy fights where they gave their all and were very exciting, in Boruto on the contrary, the children's teachers are useless and it's hard to believe that those useless people were the ones who gave the classes to the child prodigies, just compare Kakashi with Konohamaru and you will understand what I'm talking about.
A día de hoy Gaara es completamente inútil y las esperanzas están más que todo depositadas en su hijo, entiendo que Boruto trata de la siguiente generación pero eso no justifica que para darle protagonismo a los niños, imposibiliten a los adultos porque es algo que no tiene sentido en lo absoluto, por ejemplo, en Naruto y Naruto Shippuden, si bien Sasuke y Naruto, además de sus compañeros eran muy buenos y muy fuertes, sus maestros y lideres de las aldeas, seguían estando por encima o a la par de ellos, incluso si perdían una batalla lo hacían después de hacer gala de un amplio abanico de Jutsus potentes y peleas dignas donde daban el todo por el todo y eran muy emocionantes, en Boruto por lo contrario, los maestros de los niños son inútiles y te cuesta creer que esos inútiles fueron los que les dieron las clases a los niños prodigios, solo comparen a Kakashi con Konohamaru y entenderán de lo que hablo.
Gaara has one of the saddest stories, because when he was a child, he was very sweet, loving and adorable boy despite the stigma of being a Jinchuriki and carrying the rejection and fear of his village, but by the "betrayal" of his uncle by orders of his father (the Kazekage) he is traumatized and to cope with the pain, he prefers to get rid of the feelings, developing apathy and detachment to everything and everyone, safeguarding the interest and love for himself. I don't want to give more details so as not to make spoilers but in truth his story and his development (except for what they did with him in Boruto) makes him my favourite character.
Gaara tiene una de las historias más tristes, y es que de pequeño era un niño muy dulce, amoroso y adorable pese a llevar el estigma de ser un Jinchuriki y llevar encima el rechazo y el miedo de su aldea, pero por la "traición" de su tío por órdenes de su padre (el Kazekage) se ve traumatizado y para sobrellevar el dolor, prefiere deshacerse de los sentimientos, desarrollando apatía y un desapego a todo y a todos, salvaguardando el interés y amor por sí mismo. No quiero dar más detalles para no hacer spoilers, pero en verdad su historia y su desarrollo (exceptuando lo que hicieron con él en Boruto) hace que sea mi personaje preferido.
Although he is a character whose personality is serious and parsimonious, he has some funny scenes, I like to see him smiling and being more... a young boy, i.e. acting like a young boy and not so "an adult immersed in politics".
Pese a ser un personaje cuya personalidad es seria y parca, tiene algunas escenas graciosas, me gusta verlo sonreír y ser más... un muchacho joven, es decir que actúe como tal y no tan "adulto inmerso en la política"
I think I could spend hours talking about this character because as I mentioned, he is one of the best developed characters and despite his serious personality, he is quite charismatic and lovable when he wants to be.
