🎬 RELIGIOUS HORROR HAS ALWAYS DISTURBED MY DREAMS, BUT THIS TIME I THINK I'M IN FOR A QUIET NIGHT.

Since the arrival of movies like The Exorcist, Frailty or The Rite, we have been able to enjoy a genre where horror and suspense merge with the religious theme making these pellicles so disturbing that they can blow your mind and at night disturb your dreams.

🇪🇸 EL TERROR RELIGIOSO SIEMPRE HA PERTURBADO MIS SUEÑOS, PERO EN ESTA OPORTUNIDAD CREO QUE TENDRÉ UNA NOCHE TRANQUILA.

Desde la llegada de películas como The Exorcist, Frailty o The Rite, hemos podido disfrutar de un género donde el terror y suspenso se fusionan con el tema religioso haciendo de estas pellicas tan perturbadoras que pueden hacer volar tu cabeza y por las noches perturbar tus sueños.

These movies have good material that develop it to such a level that you feel in every minute how your heart tries to jump out of your chest and that feeling is unique.

The religious horror genre is not very favorite, since I am very sensitive to that kind of movies where religion takes such an important place and somehow I find it hard to digest some scenes that surpass my imagination. When I saw the first movie of the Conjuring saga it was a little hard for me to watch it completely and continuously, the level of tension was so high that I couldn't avoid taking my eyes off the screen and if it sounds silly, but this kind of movies touch a sensitive fiber in me.

🇪🇸 Estas películas cuentan con buen material que lo desarrollan hasta tal nivel que sientes en cada minuto como tu corazón intenta salirse de tu pecho y esa sensación es única.

El género de terror religioso no es muy favorito, ya que soy muy sensible a ese tipo de películas donde la religión toma un lugar tan importante y de alguna manera me cuesta digerir algunas escenas que superan mi imaginación. Cuando vi la primera película de la saga del Conjuro me costó un poco poder verla por completo y de forma continua, el nivel de tensión era tanto que no podía evitar quitar la mirada de la pantalla y si suena tonto, pero este tipo de películas tocan una fibra sensible en mí.

Which proves that a well executed horror movie will always give good results no matter what kind of audience is watching it, it will always deliver what it promises. Today I went to see the third installment of this saga and I will be very honest with those who read me I was very afraid to see this movie alone and that I saw it a few hours ago and you may already have an idea of how these movies make me nervous.

To my surprise I came across a movie that really did not fulfill what it presented in its first and second part, where the terror was always present and the handling of the resource jump scare you know those scenes where you do not expect anything and suddenly a ghost or terrifying person appears giving you the scare of your life, these scenes are key to make the viewer jump off the couch. This time nothing of what made this movie so shocking was present in its last installment and it left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

I would like to tell you what this movie is about, but by now you must know everything about this movie and most likely you have already read some reviews within the community or why not maybe you have already seen a few videos on YouTube.

🇪🇸 Lo cual demuestra que una película de terror bien ejecutada siempre dará buenos resultados sin importar el tipo de público que lo vea, siempre cumplirá con lo que promete. Hoy me anime a ver la tercera entrega de esta saga y seré muy sincero con aquellos que me leen tenía mucho miedo de ver esta película solo y eso que la vi hace unas horas ya podrán tener una idea de cómo estas películas me ponen de nervioso.

Para mi sorpresa me topé con una película que la verdad no cumplió con lo que nos presentó en su primera y segunda parte, donde el terror siempre estuvo presente y el manejo del recurso jump scare ya sabes esas escenas donde no te esperas nada y de repente aparece un fantasma o persona terrorífica dándote el susto de tu vida, estas escenas son clave para hacer saltar al el espectador del sofá. En esta oportunidad nada de lo que hacían esta película tan impactante tuvo presencia en su última entrega y me dejó con un mal sabor de boca.

¿DE QUÉ TRATA LA PELÍCULA?

Quisiera contarte de qué trata esta película, pero ya para estas alturas debes conocer perfectamente todo lo referente a esta película y lo más seguro que ya has podido leer algunas reseñas dentro de la comunidad o porque no quizás ya has visto unos cuantos videos en YouTube.

Entonces para no caer en lo repetitivo e ir directamente a lo que te trajo a mi publicación que es leer mi opinión y crítica sobre la película, te dejaré a continuación un pequeño resumen, Cortesía de Wikipedia.

Plot: "In 1981, demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren document the exorcism of 8-year-old David Glatzel, attended by his family, his sister Debbie and her boyfriend Arne Johnson, and Father Gordon, in the town of Brookfield, Connecticut. During the exorcism, Arne invites the demon into his body in David's place. Ed witnesses the demon being transported from David's body to Arne's as Arne suffers a heart attack and is transported to a hospital in an unconscious state.".

The Warren have a new mission and will have to fight forces they have never encountered before, it will be their acid test and perhaps the last chance they have to put good over evil.

🎬 MY SPOILER-FREE OPINION

One of the negative factors of having high expectations for a movie is that when the moment of truth arrives and you don't get what you expected, you feel like you've seen just another run-of-the-mill movie and that what once made a great impression on you is now just a vague memory. Obviously my expectations were huge and how could they not be, we are talking about the Warren behind that last name there is a great story and everything about them is amazing, it is obvious that one expects something disturbing and unique.

Los Warren tienen una nueva misión y deberán luchar contra fuerzas con las que antes no se habían topado, será su prueba de fuego y quizás la última oportunidad que tengan para poner el bien por encima del mal.

MI OPINIÓN SIN SPOILERS

Uno de los factores negativos de tener altas expectativas en una película es que cuando llega la hora de la verdad y no obtienes lo que esperas, sientes que has visto una película más del montón y que lo que antes te causaba una gran impresión ahora solo es un vago recuerdo. Obviamente mis expectativas eran enormes y como no serlas estamos hablando de los Warren detrás de ese apellido existe una gran historia y todo lo referente a ellos es alucinante, es obvio que uno espere algo perturbador y único.

Unfortunately I could only see scenes and moments where the story they didn't tell didn't have much impact on me and I just wanted to finish watching the movie hoping that some scene would make me take my eyes off the screen or just pause it and wait for my wife to watch it together so we wouldn't die of fear, but that wasn't necessary the horror was never invasive enough to have to wait for my wife's company.

WHERE IS THE RELIGIOUS TERROR LEFT? This is key in this type of film and here it seems that they completely forgot their roots and left that horror aside and wanted to focus a little more on situations that we have seen before and this time do not bring anything new, see scenes of exorcisms, bodies flying through the air and people being twisted to Olympic level is something that I have seen in the past installments and did not represent a visual or emotional challenge for those who already know the saga.

I remember in the first movie we could see scenes so heavy on a spiritual level that it gave you goosebumps, they not only focus on causing terror on a visual level, but also emotional with dialogues so complicated and immersed in delicate issues that bordered reality with fiction, that kind of resources exceed to some extent what we can see.

🇪🇸 Lamentablemente solo pude ver escenas y momentos donde la historia que no contaban no tenía mucho impacto en mí y solo quería terminar de ver la película con la esperanza de que alguna escena me hiciera quitar la mirada de la pantalla o simplemente ponerle pausa y esperar a mi esposa para verla juntos y así no morir de miedo, pero eso no fue necesario el terror nunca fue lo suficiente invasivo para tener que esperar por la compañía de mi esposa.

¿DONDE QUEDO EL TERROR RELIGIOSO? Esto es clave en este tipo de filmes y aquí parece que se olvidaron por completo de sus raíces y dejaron ese terror a un lado y quisieron enfocarse un poco más en situaciones que ya hemos visto antes y que en esta ocasión no aportan nada nuevo, ver escenas de exorcismos, cuerpos volando por el aire y personas siendo retorcidas a nivel olímpico es algo que yo he visto en las entregas pasadas y que no representaban un reto visual o emocional para aquellos que ya conocemos la saga.

Recuerdo que en la primera película podíamos ver escenas tan pesadas a nivel espiritual que te ponían la piel de gallina, no solo se enfocan en causar terror a nivel visual, sino también emocional con diálogos tan complicados y sumergidos en temas delicados que rozaban la realidad con la ficción, ese tipo de recursos superan hasta cierto punto lo que podemos ver.

Something that was annoying me during the whole movie was to see how the Warren tried to protect each other at every second and those scenes where they wanted to create in a forced way some tension to give more depth to the love they have for each other and how important it is for them to be together until the end that somehow took away the weight of the horror scenes. Without leaving aside the character played (Eugenie Bondurant) who represented The Occulist who was not given the importance she deserved and only served to have someone to beat in a simple way and without much effort for the protagonists. Although I would like to see a Spin-off of this character who could have a great origin story and perhaps be somewhat disturbing.

The movie may be entertaining, but not enough to say it's good or bad, it's really one of those movies that will only be forgotten. DO YOU RECOMMEND IT?, if he recommended it to you so that you can draw your own conclusions and close a saga that at the beginning promised very attractive things that would give a fresh air to the religious horror genre, but as everyone has different points of view and tastes are not the same it is preferable that you go and take a look at it.

• Repetitive scenes, a single direction and little originality with respect to previous installments.

• Very forced situations that only sought to give an outlet to scenes that by themselves were stagnant, for example the scene before the end.

• In short, more of the same.

THE GOOD THINGS

• The visual effects, although a bit exaggerated, are perfect, showing scenarios that complement the film.

• The story behind the Warren is still unique and although not squeezed as it should in this third installment are still two very interesting characters.

• Good background music, although only a few times you could hear the King (The music gave context to some scenes, as a wink).

🇪🇸 Algo que si me estaba fastidiando durante toda la película eran ver como los Warren intentaban protegerse en cada segundo y esas escenas donde querían crear de manera forzada alguna tensión para darle más profundidad al el amor que se tienen y lo importante que es para ellos estar juntos hasta el final eso de alguna forma le quitó peso a las escenas de terror. Sin dejar de lado al personaje interpretado (Eugenie Bondurant) que representaba The Occulist a quien no le dieron la importancia que merecía y solo sirvió para tener alguien a quien vencer de manera sencilla y sin mucho esfuerzo para los protagonistas. Aunque me gustaría ver un Spin-off de este personaje que podría tener una gran historia de origen y quizás sea algo perturbadora.

La película puede que sea entretenida, pero no lo suficiente para decir que es buena o mala, la verdad es de esas películas que solo quedarán para el olvido. ¿ME LA RECOMIENDAS?, si te la recomendó para que pueda sacar tus propias conclusiones y cerrar una saga que al inicio prometía cosas muy atractivas que le darían un aire fresco al género de terror religiosos, pero como cada uno tiene diferentes puntos de vista y los gustos no son iguales es preferible que vayas y le eches un vistazo.

LO BUENO Y LO MALO

LO MALO

• Escenas repetitivas, una sola dirección y poca originalidad con respeto a sus entregas anteriores.

• Situaciones muy forzadas que solo buscaban darle salida a escenas que por sí solas se estancaron, por ejemplo la escena antes del final.

• En resumen más de lo mismo.

LO BUENO

• Los efectos visuales aunque un poco exagerados, cumplen a la perfección, mostrando escenarios que complementan la película.

• La historia tras los Warren sigue siendo única y aunque no la exprimieron como se debía en esta tercera entrega siguen siendo dos personajes muy interesantes.

• Buena música de fondo, aunque solo en pocas ocasiones se pudo escuchar al Rey (La música daba contexto a algunas escenas, como un guiño).
