This question is one that has caused the most controversy and debate in the Saint Seiya universe, the golden knights are the most powerful of the 88 knights that Athena has in her service, but of all these there is one who stands out above the rest. For some it is Shaka of Virgo, for others Saga of Gemini, some include Dohko and Aioros in the discussion, the truth is that our mind wanders happily in this kind of topics, which is why I have to share with you my particular opinion on the matter. This time I will only address the first half of the knights, in the next installment I will give my final verdict, so stay tuned.
Esta interrogante es una de la que más ha causado polémica y debates en el universo Saint Seiya, los caballeros dorados son los más poderosos de los 88 caballeros que tiene Athena a su servicio, pero de todos estos hay uno que sobresale por encima de los demás. Para algunos es Shaka de Virgo, para otros Saga de Géminis, algunos incluyen a Dohko y Aioros en la discusión, lo cierto es que nuestra mente divaga gustosamente en este tipo de temas, razón por la cual he de compartir con ustedes mi opinión particular al respecto. En esta oportunidad solo abordare la primera mitad de los caballeros, en la siguiente entrega daré mi veredicto final, asi que mantente atento.
From the least strong to the strongest of all / Desde el menos fuerte hasta el más fuerte de todos
Aphrodite of Pisces, my list starts with this character, one of the most arrogant, this due to her physical beauty, I must confess that when I saw him for the first time many years ago I was shocked by his appearance, I even thought he was a woman, but once I understood the character's way of being I understood why he showed himself that way. Aphrodite is a knight loyal to Athena, although the impression he gave was quite the opposite, I remember when he fought against Shun in the battle of the twelve houses, there he gave his life for the ideal he believed, in his mind defending his house was the right thing to do, the motive of the bronze knights at that time was dismissed, and we see this knight die under the strongest attack of Shun. Later in the Hades saga, he showed his passion for Athena in a more open way but was still defeated. His greatest performance was in the Gold Saints saga, this is not canonical but it was supervised by Kurumada, and in a way it was quite close to the original, although in Next Dimension (canonical) the panorama of the Golden Knights is clarified a little after sacrificing his life in front of the Wailing Wall.
Afrodita de Piscis, mi lista comienza con este personaje, uno de los más arrogantes, esto debido a su belleza física, debo confesar que cuando lo vi por primera vez hace muchos años me impacto su apariencia, incluso pensé que era una mujer, pero una vez fui entendiendo la forma de ser del personaje comprendí por qué se mostraba de esa manera. Afrodita es un caballero fiel a Athena, aunque la impresión que dio fue toda la contraria, recuerdo cuando lucho contra Shun en la batalla de las doce casas, allí dio su vida por el ideal que él creía, en su mente defender su casa era lo correcto, el motivo de los caballeros de bronce en aquel entonces fue desestimado, y vemos a este caballero morir bajo el ataque más fuerte de Shun. Posteriormente en la saga de Hades, mostro su pasión por Athena de una forma más abierta pero igualmente fue vencido. Su mayor performance fue en la saga Gold Saints, esta no es canónica pero fue supervisada por Kurumada, y en cierto modo fue bastante apegada al original, aunque ya en Next Dimensión (canónica) se nos aclara un poco el panorama de los Caballeros dorados luego de sacrificar su vida frente al muro de los lamentos.

Following Aphrodite, I go with MasK of death, the gold knight of cancer, this is the cruelest of all to say the least, he even looks like an evil knight who loves to do harm and not to do justice, if we compare him with some of the specters of Hades mask of death is worse, however the point here is his power, the only fact why I put him a step above Aphrodite is because he has the ability to move the fights to the entrance of the world of the dead, a place under the universe of Saint Seiya where the souls of the defeated walk to the world of the dead ruled by Hades. Besides that, Mask of Death can fight in that place at will, an advantage over his rivals, when he fought against Shiru he had a lot of advantage but was defeated because of his evil, because the golden armor left him.
Seguido de Afrodita, me voy con Mascara de la muerte, el caballero dorado de cáncer, este es el más cruel de todos por decirlo de alguna manera, incluso se ve como un caballero malvado que ama hacer daño y no hacer justicia, si lo comparamos con algunos de los espectros de Hades mascara de la muerte es peor, sin embargo el punto acá es su poder, el cual no es nada del otro mundo, el único hecho por el cual lo coloque un peldaño por encima de Afrodita es porque tiene la capacidad de trasladar las peleas a la entrada del mundo de los muertos, un lugar bajo el universo de Saint Seiya donde las almas de los derrotados caminan hacia el mundo de los muertos gobernado por Hades. Además de eso, Mascara de la muerte puede pelear en ese lugar a voluntad, una ventaja sobre sus rivales, cuando lucho contra Shiru tenía mucha ventaja pero fue derrotado a causa de su maldad, pues la armadura dorada le abandono.

El siguiente es Aldebarán de Tauro, su gran tamaño y fuerza descomunal le otorgan un gran poder, pero su única habilidad viene a ser su misma debilidad. En la saga siempre se nos ha mostrado el “Gran cuerno” como su único ataque, el cual ejecuta bajo una postura defensiva y ofensiva a la vez, pero una vez es resistida y vista no es mucho el daño que puede realizar al oponente. En la saga de las 12 casas no lucho con todo su poder y fue derrotado por Seiya y los demás, pero frente a los espectros de Hades fue vencido relativamente fácil, y allí sí dio todo lo que tenía aunque no se nos muestra del todo su batalla, lo cierto es que murió demasiado rápido.

In the saga of the 12 houses Cassius had to sacrifice himself to free him from the Imperial Satan, and in the saga of Hades he survived until he died on the wailing wall.
El próximo en mi lista quizás te parezca una sorpresa, pero de acá en adelante la paridad que existe entre cada caballero es mínima, razón por la cual se vuelve un poco más complicada la elección, aun asi estoy convencido que el león dorado ocupa esta posición (9no más fuerte), y esto es debido a su temperamento, es considerado un mecha corta, fácilmente se deja llevar por la ira y esta es su debilidad, además sus sentimientos por su hermano fallecido lo marcaron desde pequeño y aunque entreno mucho para limpiar el nombre de Aioros fácilmente se vio afectado por aquellos que lo tenían como un traidor. Inclusive Saga se aprovechó de esto para controlar su mente y volverlo enemigo de los caballeros atenienses. En la saga de las 12 casas Casio tuvo que sacrificarse para liberarlo del Satán Imperial, y en la saga de Hades sobrevivió hasta que murió en el muro de los lamentos.

Shura of Capricorn occupies the next place, this knight boasts for being the most faithful to Athena because of being the one who killed Aioros in that supposed betrayal, his power and speed are undeniable, he was endowed with a legendary sword (Excalibur) that cuts absolutely everything. But he is also a knight who makes use of martial arts, this we could notice in the saga of the 12 houses when he faced Shiru protecting the temple of Capricorn. After that we noticed a more mature and powerful version when in the saga of Hades he returned on a secret mission and had to face Mu and Shaka of Virgo. His power and endurance were tested, and he survived until his temporary "return to life" was again taken away.
Shura de Capricornio ocupa el siguiente lugar, este caballero se jacta por ser el más fiel a Athena a causa de ser el quien matara a Aioros en aquella supuesta traición, su poder y velocidad son innegables, fue dotado por una espada legendaria (Excalibur) que lo corta absolutamente todo. Pero también es un caballero que hace uso de las artes marciales, esto lo pudimos notar en la saga de las 12 casas cuando se enfrentó a Shiru protegiendo el templo de Capricornio. Luego de eso notamos una versión más madura y poderosa cuando en la saga de Hades vuelve en una misión secreta y le toca enfrentarse a Mu y a Shaka de Virgo. Su poder y resistencia fueron puestas a prueba, y sobrevivió hasta que su temporal “vuelta a la vida” fue nuevamente quitada.

We have reached the last of the list for now, and this place is occupied by the mighty Camus of Aquarius, a man who bases his cosmoenergy on the mastery of absolute zero, he is Hyoga's master and executor of many icy techniques, from the most basic of all such as diamond dust, to the ice coffin and the spectacular Execution of Aurora, the most powerful of the cold techniques. Camus' character is that of a man who does everything possible to teach others, in his two battles against Hyoga he dedicated himself more than anything to teach than to fight, and although he was a man of cold feelings, his desire was that his disciple would learn to be truly strong, something that he later achieved at the cost of his own life. After the battle of the 12 houses we see him again in the saga of Hades with Shura and Saga, with whom he shares many interesting battles.
Hemos llegado al último de la lista por ahora, y este lugar lo ocupa el poderoso Camus de Acuario, un hombre que basa su cosmoenergia en el dominio del cero absoluto, es el maestro de Hyoga y ejecutor de muchas técnicas heladas, desde la más básica de todas como el polvo de diamantes, hasta el ataúd de hielo y la espectacular Ejecución de Aurora, la más poderosa de las técnicas frías. El carácter de Camus es el de un hombre que hace todo lo posible por enseñar a otros, en sus dos batallas contra Hyoga se dedicó más que todo a enseñar por encima de pelear, y aunque se notaba como un hombre frio de sentimientos, su deseo era que su discípulo aprendiera a ser verdaderamente fuerte, algo que logra más adelante a costa de su propia vida. Luego de la batalla de las 12 casas lo vemos nuevamente en la saga de Hades junto a Shura y Saga, con quien comparte muchas batallas interesantes.

Final Thoughts / Pensamientos finales
Llegar hasta aquí ha sido toda una delicia para mí, recordar esta saga me trae mucha nostalgia y buenos recuerdos, pero aportar mi opinión en esta disyuntiva es algo bastante interesante de hacer, obviamente es algo muy subjetivo, por lo que si llegaste hasta aquí estoy seguro que tienes opiniones encontradas y algunas en contra, razón por la que te animo a dejarme tus pensamientos en los comentarios. Recuerda que apenas vamos por la mitad, faltan el resto de los 12 caballeros, aquellos que dominan el poder del cosmos de una forma más espectacular; el orden puede ser toda una sorpresa o quizás algo esperado para ti, asi que nos vemos en una próxima oportunidad.
