¡Hola amigos! Ya saben que mis películas favoritas son las de comedia romántica. Hace poco pude ver una de Netflix que se estrenó en el 2018 y no tenía idea de su existencia. Así que aproveché para verla y hoy les vengo a contar mi opinión sobre Cómo deshacerte de tu jefe.
Hello friends! You already know that my favorite movies are romantic comedy movies. I recently got to see one from Netflix that was released in 2018 and I had no idea of its existence. So I took the opportunity to watch it and today I come to tell you my opinion about Set it Up.

Harper y Charlie son dos de las millones de personas que habitan este mundo que seguramente tenga un jefe adicto al trabajo que les exige que estén pendientes de ellos y sus demandas las 24 horas todos los días, incluso cuando muchas veces ni siquiera tengan que ver con cuestiones del trabajo. Sus vidas están hecha un caos, sus propias necesidades se ven opacadas por estar al pendiente de mantener a sus jefes contentos. Harper ni siquiera puede tener citas sin tener que posponerlas y Charlie hace tiempo que no ve a su novia por lo mismo. Ellos no comparten jefe, pero trabajan en un mismo edificio en diferentes empresas. Sus caminos se cruzan un día que Charlie le intenta robar a Harper la cena que había pedido para su jefa para dársela al jefe de él. Ahí inician un acuerdo de emparejar a sus jefes para ver si los dejan en paz. El plan, ante todo pronóstico, da resultado y finalmente son libres para vivir sus propias vidas. Sin embargo, muy pronto se darán cuenta que no es bueno intervenir en cuestiones del corazón cuando pongan sus propios sentimientos sobre la mesa.
Harper and Charlie are two of the millions of people in this world who probably have a workaholic boss who demands that they keep an eye on them and their demands 24 hours a day, every day, even when it often has nothing to do with work. Their lives are in chaos, their own needs overshadowed by keeping their bosses happy. Harper can't even go on dates without having to postpone them, and Charlie hasn't seen his girlfriend in a while for the same reason. They don't share a boss, but they work in the same building at different companies. Their paths cross one day when Charlie tries to steal Harper's dinner she had ordered for her boss to give to his boss. There they initiate an agreement to pair up their bosses to see if they will leave them alone. The plan, against all odds, pays off and they are finally free to live their own lives. However, they soon realize that it is not good to intervene in matters of the heart when they put their own feelings on the table.

Había visto un comentario en Twitter que hablaba sobre esta película y decía que era una de las mejores romcoms que existían y bueno, por eso tuve que verla. Además trabaja Zoey Deutch, una actriz que me encanta.
I had seen a comment on Twitter that talked about this movie and said it was one of the best romcoms out there and well, that's why I had to see it. Plus it features Zoey Deutch, an actress I love.
La trama me resultó interesante, ya que generalmente se suelen enfocar en conquistarse entre los protagonistas, no intentar emparejar a otros y terminar dándote cuenta que estás teniendo sentimientos por tu compañero en el crimen. Estuvo bastante entretenida la película, creo que se enfocó más en la comedia que en las partes románticas, está paso hacía el final. Solo quiero decir que me gustó, pero no comparto el comentario que vi de que es una de las mejores romcoms. De todos modos, para gustos los colores. Zoey estaba hermosa como siempre (que no se note lo mucho que la amo).
I found the plot interesting, as they usually focus on conquering each other, not trying to match others and end up realizing that you are having feelings for your partner in crime. It was quite entertaining the movie, I think it focused more on the comedy than the romantic parts, it's pacing towards the end. I just want to say that I liked it, but I don't share the comment I saw that it's one of the best romcoms. Anyway, to each his own. Zoey was beautiful as always (don't let it show how much I love her).

También nos ilustra sobre la realidad que viven muchos asistentes de jefes, no es la primera vez que se retrata está situación en una película, hay otros ejemplos como la relación entre Andrea y Miranda en El diablo viste a la moda. Relaciones de trabajos que se tornan insufribles, pero eligen mantenerlas porque los cambios pueden ser difíciles para algunos o el ambiente es el ideal para seguir escalando hasta llegar a sus sueños, ¿pero a qué costo?
It is not the first time that this situation is portrayed in a movie, there are other examples such as the relationship between Andrea and Miranda in The Devil Wears Prada. Work relationships that become insufferable, but they choose to keep them because the changes can be difficult for some or the environment is ideal to continue climbing to reach their dreams, but at what cost?
Harper es un claro ejemplo de comodidad, ella quiere ser escritora enfocada en los deportes, es por ello que llegó hasta su jefa Rachel, ya que ella es una prestigiosa periodista deportiva, la más ruda en el campo. Pero al empezar a trabajar con ella fue tan demandante que ya no tiene tiempo ni para escribir, aunque también es una excusa por su parte, ya que siente miedo e inseguridad al no saber si será lo suficientemente buena para esto.
Harper is a clear example of comfort, she wants to be a writer focused on sports, which is why she got to her boss Rachel, since she is a prestigious sports journalist, the toughest in the field. But starting to work with her was so demanding that she no longer has time even to write, although it is also an excuse on her part, as she feels fear and insecurity not knowing if she will be good enough for this.

Por otro lado, Rachel se excusa en que es así con ella porque le ve potencial a Harper y le exige sabiendo que si no lo hace ella lo va a hacer otra persona. Me parece un disparate que haya gente que piense así y lo peor es que sí existen en la vida real, esas que se escudan en que te están haciendo un favor para que ganes carácter y te sobreexijas. No debería ser así. Puede que a la larga te haga un bien, como sucede en estás películas que luego la protagonista despierta y se da cuenta que está viviendo para los caprichos de otros y va en busca de sus sueños. Pero en vez de elegir ser amable, eligen la otra alternativa de que termines odiando a tu jefe.
On the other hand, Rachel excuses herself in that she is like that with her because she sees Harper's potential and demands from her knowing that if she doesn't do it, someone else will. I think it's nonsense that there are people who think like that and the worst thing is that they do exist in real life, those who hide behind the fact that they are doing you a favor so that you gain character and overexert yourself. It shouldn't be like that. It may do you some good in the long run, as it happens in these movies where the protagonist wakes up and realizes that she is living for the whims of others and goes in search of her dreams. But instead of choosing to be nice, they choose the other alternative of you ending up hating your boss.

Aunque sí me preguntan me pareció una mejor jefa Rachel que Rick, el jefe de Charlie. Al menos ella veía a Harper por lo que era y la reconocía como una igual a pesar de todas sus demandas. Pero Rick es un pésimo jefe que se la agarra con sus empleados cuando tiene problemas personales que resolver y encima comete muchos errores a lo largo del film. Por suerte Charlie también pudo despertar y darse cuenta a tiempo, aunque para ello tuvo que empezar de nuevo a reconstruir su futuro. Charlie no tuvo solo un despertar profesional, sino que también se dio cuenta que estaba en una relación de pareja vacía, donde no había nada. Allí empieza a tener sentimientos por Harper.
Although if you ask me I found Rachel a better boss than Charlie's boss Rick. At least she saw Harper for what she was and recognized her as an equal despite all her demands. But Rick is a lousy boss who takes it out on his employees when he has personal problems to solve and on top of that he makes a lot of mistakes throughout the film. Fortunately Charlie was also able to wake up and realize it in time, although he had to start again to rebuild his future. Charlie not only had a professional awakening, but he also realized that he was in an empty relationship, where there was nothing. There he begins to have feelings for Harper.

En definitiva, es una película que aborda la importancia de no renunciar a tus sueños, de perseverar en ellos, de animarte a los cambios, de pegar ese salto que tanto te aterroriza y de comenzar de nuevo que nunca es tarde. La historia es muy fresca y divertida, tiene momentos muy dulces. Aunque sí le tuviera que criticar algo sería que no tuvo un romance de esos que me hacen suspirar. Esto no quita que el romance sea bastante real, ya que es algo que podría pasar más fácilmente en la vida que las fantasías con las que nos podemos encontrar en otras películas de este género. Así que se las recomiendo para ver cuando quieran algo ligero y entretenido.
In short, it is a film that addresses the importance of not giving up on your dreams, to persevere in them, to encourage you to change, to take that leap that terrifies you so much and to start again, because it is never too late. The story is very fresh and funny, it has very sweet moments. Although if I had to criticize something it would be that it didn't have one of those romances that make me sigh. This does not take away from the fact that the romance is quite real, as it is something that could happen more easily in life than the fantasies that we can find in other movies of this genre. So I recommend it to watch when you want something light and entertaining.
