Just finished watching the first season of Andor A Star Wars Story as they call it officially.
Twelve episodes of around 35 minutes each. A journey of Cassian Andor from a thief to future rebel hero.
Did I like it? Actually I did, a lot. In my opinion it is a series with great acting, good plot, some incredibly difficult situations to overcome. It has drama on personal and galactic scale. It has characters full of empathy and many with total lack of it. It even has some philosophy and ideas that totally apply to present time and space. It is sad at times and gives little hope to our heroes yet they still push and struggle forward on a path they've chosen and now have no way to step off it.
Canon says it is a prequel to movie Rogue One which I didn't watch. After first Star Wars movie decades ago, which I liked a lot, and next two movies, the saga lost me. They simply milked it.
Now, with Andor, real life, as seen on TV, has somehow found it's way into this universe of fairytale battle between good and evil, between light and dark. There are greys and browns here, a lot of tears and pain, not much of joy, yet still hope. Always hope.
Did you watch it? How did you find it?
Now, off to season 2 and its first three episodes.
Ps: no light sabers here, just atiny hint of one. I liked that too.
