Este film me deja sentado mirando fijamente en el televisor. Estos artistas son extraordinarios. El inicio de la película me asombra al mirar las actuaciones de los esposos que parecen unos zombis. Me induce esta temática a que el propósito es indagar en las profundas complejidades del matrimonio y los desafíos que confrontan las parejas para mantener encendida la fogata del amor después de muchos años juntos.

The plot centres around Kay and Arnold Soames, a couple who have been married for over 30 years. At first glance, from the opening scenes I notice that it is a marriage with a cavity that separates them every day: they live in the comfort of a stable routine. However, Kay begins to feel uneasy and questions their emotional instability. It is interesting, as the film rolls in this intense mirror of a fractured marriage.

La trama está enfocada en torno a Kay y Arnold Soames, una pareja que lleva más de 30 años casada. A simple vista, desde las primeras escenas observo que es un matrimonio con una cavidad que cada día los separa: viven con el confort de una rutina estable. Sin embargo, Kay comienza a sentirse inquieta y cuestiona su inestabilidad emocional. Es interesante, como rueda la cinta en ese intenso espejo de la fractura de un matrimonio.

In the course of the unfolding morning breakfast scenes, Kay approaches with an interest in passionately attending to Arnold. She feels that Arnold is a thing of marble and that their marriage has become more of the same. At Kay's birthday celebration Arnold did not provide her with a gift for his wife's special event.
