Hello, my dear cinephile friends! I hope you are very well. Today I'm here again to share with you a movie that I had wanted to see since its release but due to other activities I was finally able to see it today, it's the movie "Irish Wish" that was released on March 15 and starring Lindsay Lohan, Ed Speelers and Alexander Vlahos.

Hoy estoy nuevamente por aquí para compartir con ustedes una película que había querido ver desde su estreno pero debido a otras actividades finalmente pude verla hoy, se trata de la película "Irish Wish" que fue estrenada el 15 de Marzo y está protagonizada por Lindsay Lohan, Ed Speelers y Alexander Vlahos.
Plot / Trama
The plot follows Maddie, an editor who is secretly in love with Paul Kennedy, the author she worked with for her book, however she was never given the opportunity to confess her feelings to Paul, and when he meets Emma, Maddie's best friend immediately develop a mutual attraction and become engaged to be married. Despite her feelings, Maddie decides not to say anything about her feelings and agrees to be the maid of honor at her friend's wedding. Months later, when Maddie travels to Ireland for the marriage, she makes a wish that she would be the one to marry Paul, which is fulfilled thanks to the appearance of a fairy, and after feeling a strong breeze, her wish is fulfilled and she wakes up being Paul's girlfriend and future wife. Now everything seems like a dream for Maddie when she knows that she will be the wife of the man she loves, however, when she begins to spend time with James, who will be the photographer of her marriage but whom she had already met at the airport and on the bus when she was traveling to Ireland, she ends up falling in love with James and gives up the idea of marrying Paul, but when things get complicated for Maddie she must find a way to undo her desire so that everything returns to normal and recover her true love, which turns out to be James.
La trama sigue a Maddie, una editora que está enamorada en secreto de Paul Kennedy, el autor con el que trabajó para su libro sin embargo nunca se dió la oportunidad de que ella pudiera confesarle sus sentimientos a Paul, y cuando él conoce a Emma, la mejor de amiga de Maddie inmediatamente desarrollan una atracción mutua y se comprometen para casarse. A pesar de sus sentimientos, Maddie decide no decir nada de sus sentimientos y accede a ser la dama de honor de la boda de su amiga. Meses después, cuando Maddie viaja a Irlanda para el matrimonio pide un deseo para que fuese ella quien se casara con Paul el cual se cumple gracias a que aparece un hada, y luego de sentir una fuerte brisa su deseo se cumple y despierta siendo ella la novia y futura esposa de Paul. Ahora todo parece de ensueño para Maddie al saber que ella será la esposa del hombre que ella ama sin embargo, cuando empieza a pasar tiempo con James el cual será el fotografo de su matrimonio pero que ella ya había conocido en el aeropuerto y autobús cuando viajaba a Irlanda, ella termina enamorándose de James y desiste de la idea de casarse con Paul, pero cuando las cosas se le complican a Maddie ella deberá buscar la manera de deshacer su deseo para que todo vuelva a la normalidad y recuperar al verdadero amor de su vida, el cual resulta ser James.
My Opinion / Mi Opinión
This movie caught my attention because its protagonist is Lindsay Lohan and she has been one of my favorite actresses since I was a child, and although I had my doubts about seeing it because Lindsay's first movie on Netflix, which was released a couple of years ago, I didn't like it. I don't think I regret having seen it because this time I had a pleasant time watching it because it was more to my liking and I think it was better worked than the previous one, and this time I really liked the performance of the cast in general, and also by Lindsay Lohan.
Esta película me llamó la atención porque su protagonista es Lindsay Lohan y ella ha sido una de mis actrices favoritas desde niña, y aunque tenía mis dudas de verla porque la primera película de Lindsay en netflix la cual fue lanzada hace un par de años no me gustó, creo que no me arrepiento que haberla visto porque esta vez pasé un rato agradable viéndola ya que fue más de mi agrado y creo que estuvo mejor trabajada que la anterior, y esta vez me gustó mucho la actuación del elenco en general, y también de Lindsay Lohan.
Although the photography is relatively simple, I really like it and it has a color palette that works quite well. Although the story also seemed simple to me and has some flaws in my opinion, I found it pleasant and I think it's an ideal movie to pass the time because although it may be the typical movie that mixes romance and fantasy, it also has a touch of comedy which makes it passable. I liked Lindsay's character, although at first Maddie seemed like a fool to let Paul take the credit for her work because she was secretly in love with him, and also envious when she saw that her best friend was marrying Paul so she didn't mind making that wish lightly and thinking only of her, I liked that in the end she realized the mistake she made and did everything possible to undo the wish because she realized that Paul really isn't for her, and that James is the love of her life even though at first she didn't give in and was determined to marry Paul. And I also liked that at the end of the movie Maddie gave her work the value she deserved and didn't agree to let Paul take all the credit.
La fotografía aunque es relativamente sencilla, me gusta mucho y tiene una paleta de colores que funciona bastante bien. La historia aunque también me pareció sencilla y tiene a mi parecer algunos fallos, me pareció agradable y creo que es una película ideal para pasar el rato ya que aunque puede llegar a ser la típica película que mezcla el romance y la fantasía también tiene un toque de comedia la cual la hace pasable. El personaje de Lindsay me agradó, aunque al principio Maddie me parecía una tonta al dejar que Paul se llevara el crédito por su trabajo porque estaba enamorada de él en secreto, y también envidiosa al ver que su mejor amiga se casaría con Paul por lo que no le importó pedir ese deseo a la ligera y pensando nada más en ella me gustó que al final se haya dado cuenta del error que cometió e hizo todo lo posible por deshacer el deseo porque se dio cuenta de que realmente Paul no es para ella, y que James es el amor de su vida a pesar de que al principio ella no daba su brazo a torcer y estaba decidida a casarse con Paul. Y también me gustó que al final de la película Maddie le diera el valor que se merece su trabajo y no accediera a que Paul se llevara todo el crédito.
Something I also like about Maddie is that in the end she learned her lesson and also learned that she can't change destiny even if she didn't like it because the consequences are wrong. In my opinion, the rest of the characters had decent development and I personally came to hate Paul because of how hateful he can be in some parts of the film. I think my favorite scene is the part where James and Paul fight after Maddie refused to marry Paul because I thought she was funny and it was the part that made me laugh the most. I think it's nice that Lindsay is back on screens thanks to Netflix, and although this movie was good I hope that the next movies she acts in will be even better because even though years have passed, I think Lindsay is a great talent that should not be wasted.
Algo que también me gusta de Maddie, es que al final ella haya aprendido su lección y también aprendió a que no se puede cambiar el destino así no le guste porque las consecuencias son las incorrectas. En mi opinión el resto de los personajes tuvieron un desarrollo decente y yo en lo personal, llegué a odiar a Paul por lo odioso que puede llegar a ser en algunas partes de la película. Creo que mi escena favorita es la parte en la que James y Paul se pelean luego de que Maddie rechazara casarse con Paul porque me pareció divertida y fue la parte que más me dio risa. Creo que es agradable que Lindsay esté de vuelta a las pantallas gracias a Netflix, y aunque esta película estuvo buena espero que las próximas películas en las que ella actúe sean aún mejores ya que aunque han pasado los años, creo que Lindsay tiene un gran talento que no debería desperdiciar.
To conclude, I would say that it's a good movie to pass the time and I would like to recommend it to all those who don't know it yet, I hope you like it and enjoy it. It has been a pleasure to have shared it with you.
