Today I'm here to share with you my opinion about a documentary that I had the opportunity to see today, which tells the recording process of a song that had a great global impact and in my opinion is one of the most important charity songs of the music industry "We Are The World". This documentary was directed by Bao Nguyen and was released yesterday through the Netflix platform.

Hoy estoy por aquí para compartir con ustedes mi opinión acerca de un documental que tuve la oportunidad de ver hoy, el cual cuenta el proceso de grabación de una canción que tuvo un gran impacto mundial y en mi opinión es una de las canciones benéficas más importantes de la industria musical "We Are The World". Este documental fue dirigido por Bao Nguyen y fue lanzado el dia de ayer a través de la plataforma Netflix.
Plot / Trama
As I had already told you, this documentary shows us what the recording process of the epic song "We Are The World" was like, which was written by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson, to raise funds and help end hunger in Ethiopia thanks to the fact that the activist and singer Harry Belafonte had previously visited Ethiopia and contacted music manager Ken Kragen about the project, he in turn contacted Lionel Richie to participate in the song, which he accepted. They also contacted Quincy Jones, who was not only in charge of producing the song, he also summoned Michael Jackson, who not only agreed to sing, but also participated with Lionel Richie in writing the song. The documentary also tells what the process was like to bring together all the great musical artists who participated, and also the recording sessions of the song.
Como ya les había comentado, este documental nos muestra como fue el proceso de grabación de la épica canción "We Are The World" la cual fue escrita por Lionel Richie y Michael Jackson, para recaudar fondos y ayudar a acabar con la hambre en Etiopía gracias a que el activista y cantante Harry Belafonte había visitado previamente Etiopía y se puso en contacto con el gerente musical Ken Kragen para el proyecto, y este a su vez contactó a Lionel Richie para que participara en la canción, el cual aceptó. También se pusieron en contacto con Quincy Jones, el cual no solamente se encargó de producir la canción, también convocó a Michael Jackson el cual aceptó no solo a cantar, también participó junto a Lionel Richie en la escritura de la canción. El documental también narra como fue el proceso para reunir a todos los grandes artistas musicales que participaron, y también las sesiones de grabación de la canción.
My Opinion / Mi Opinión
I have liked the song "We Are The World" from a very early age and finding this documentary this afternoon when I was looking for what to watch on Netflix was surprising and very good for me since I had always been curious about how this iconic song was made. . I really like that Lionel Richie, Dionne Warwick, Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, among others, appear in the documentary making comments on the song, which I thought gave a great touch of nostalgia to the documentary and I loved seeing them because they are artists that I liked a lot for as long as I can remember and hearing them talk about their memories of the song was very emotional for me.
La canción de "We Are The World" me ha gustado desde muy temprana edad y el haber encontrado este documental esta tarde cuando buscaba que ver en Netflix fue sorprendente y muy bueno para mí ya que siempre me había dado curiosidad como se hizo esta icónica canción. Me gusta mucho que en el documental aparezcan Lionel Richie, Dionne Warwick, Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen entre otros haciendo comentarios sobre la canción lo cual me pareció que le dio un gran toque de nostalgia al documental y me encantó verlos ya que son artistas que me han gustado mucho desde que tengo memoria y escucharlos hablar de sus memorias sobre la canción fue muy emotivo para mi.
I really liked the image quality that the documentary presents since most of what it shows are images from the year 85 (the year the song was recorded) and at that time there was obviously no advance in technology today and still , the image quality compared to the most current ones (where some artists and producers tell their memories) is quite acceptable. I really loved seeing how the artists really got along very well during the recording of the song because before I thought it was acting, and I also liked seeing the way in which each artist recorded their part, how they organized them in a way in which each one maintained their essence and tone of voice without hearing each other badly. Something that I really enjoyed in the documentary was seeing many artists that I really like enjoying making this song which would help save many lives that were needing support at that time, without seeking profit or anything like that.
Realmente me gustó la calidad de imagen que presenta el documental ya que la mayoría de lo que muestra son imágenes del año 85 (año en que se grabó la canción) y en esa época obviamente no había el adelanto en la tecnología de ahora y aún así, la calidad de imagen comparada con las más actuales (en dónde algunos artistas, y productores cuentan sus memorias) es bastante aceptable. Me encantó mucho ver como los artistas realmente se llevaban muy bien durante la grabación de la canción ya que antes pensaba que era actuación, y también me gustó ver la manera en la que cada artista grabó su parte, como los organizaron de manera en la que cada uno mantuviese su esencia y timbre de voz sin escucharse mal. Algo que disfruté mucho en el documental fue ver a muchos artistas que me gustan mucho disfrutando hacer esta canción la cual ayudaría a salvar a muchas vidas que estaban necesitando apoyo en aquel momento, sin buscar lucrarse o algo por el estilo.
To conclude, I would say that I really loved this documentary and I'm very happy that they released it no matter that it was after so many years since no matter how much time passes, I think that songs as beautiful and meaningful as this one are immortal and many future generations will be able to enjoy it, I hope that this documentary which I want to recommend can serve as a hook for these future generations so that they are encouraged to know the song, and also its creation process which was really very interesting and took place on a night that was left for the history of the music industry forever. It has been a pleasure to share it with you. It should be noted that this song was a worldwide success and worthy of several awards such as Grammys and AMAs.
Para finalizar, diría que realmente amé este documental y estoy muy feliz que lo hayan sacado no importa que haya sido después de tantos años ya que no importa cuanto tiempo pase, pienso que canciones tan hermosas y significativas como esta son inmortales y muchas generaciones futuras podrán disfrutarla, espero que este documental el cual les quiero recomendar pueda servir de gancho a esas generaciones futuras para que se animen a conocer la canción, y también su proceso de creación el cual realmente fue muy interesante y se dio en una noche que quedó para la historia de la industria musical para siempre. Ha sido un placer compartirlo con ustedes. Cabe destacar, que esta canción fue un éxito mundial y merecedora de varios premios como Grammys y AMAs.
