Hello, living beings! Social pressure is sometimes impossible to bear and you end up doing things you don't enjoy at all. Half the world telling me to watch Squid Game because it was an exaggeratedly good, crazy, and insane thing like me, and after watching it I ask myself, do they think I'm so boring that they thought it was going to be the best series I've ever seen in my life? I mean, Squid Game is good, but it's nothing out of this world...
While some people recommended Squid Game to me, others told me that it was the enhanced copy of Alice in Borderland, this one Japanese and the previous one Korean. There were very few who told me that Alice was better, and those people were so specific that I believed them and after thinking about it too much I decided to watch both series, and now I'm writing this shared review because I'm lazy and I don't want to write too much.
The comparison between these two series is something that has no head or feet, but people love to go crazy without warning and start saying that one is a copy of another, but improved, or that the former is better than the latter because it is Japanese and not Korean, in short, nonsense things trying to make a self-fellatio to satisfy their narcissistic egos by believing they have better tastes than the rest.
¡Hola, seres vivos! La presión social a veces es imposible de soportar y se terminan haciendo cosas que no se disfrutan del todo. Medio mundo diciéndome que viera Squid Game porque era una cosa exageradamente buena, loca e insana como yo, y después de verla me pregunto, ¿tan aburrido me creen como para que pensaran que iba a ser la mejor serie que yo haya visto en la vida? O sea, Squid Game es buena, pero no es nada del otro mundo...
A la vez que unos me recomendaban Squid Game, otros me decían que era la copia potenciada de Alice in Borderlan, sienda esta japonesa y la anterior koreana. Fueron muy pocos los que me dijeron que Alice era mejor, y fueron tan específicas esas personas que les creí y después de pensarlo demasiado decidí ver las dos series y ahora estoy escribiendo esta reseña compartida, porque soy flojo y no quiero escribir mucho.
La comparación entre estas dos series es algo que no tiene pies ni cabeza, pero a la gente le encanta volverse loca sin avisar y comienzan a decir que una es la copia de otra, pero mejorada, o que la anterior es mejor que la segunda porque es japonesa y no koreana, en fin, cosas sin sentido tratando de hacerse una autofelación para satisfacer sus egos narcisistas al creer que tienen mejores gustos que el resto.
Alice in Borderland is going to teleport us, almost literally, to a city of which I don't remember the name, where apparently randomly people are transferred or taken without their consent, the rest of the people magically disappear and there are only a hundred people who have to start participating in different types of games or they will die.
Our main character will be Arisu, a genius who only likes to play 24/7 without any kind of responsibility, and his two best friends, Chota and Karube; they three will have to start surviving in this new world not only to try to return to the world from which they were taken but to stay alive there because all people have visas for days, which when they expire means they will die, how do you get the visas? playing, nothing more and nothing less, betting your life to get extra days in the hope of getting out of there.
In Alice in Borderland people are taken to a kind of parallel reality where the rest of the people disappear and they are forced to play without their consent, something that does not happen in Squid Game because all the people agree to go voluntarily. In Alice, they play to get a reward of money? No, they play even if they might die because if they don't they will also die.
Alice in Borderland trata nos va a teletransportar, casi literalmente, a una ciudad de la que no recuerdo el nombre, donde al parecer aleatoriamente gente es transferidad o llevada sin su consentimiento, el resto de las personas desaparecen mágicamente y solo existen un centener de personas que tienen que comenzar a participar en diferenes tipos de juegos o morirán.
Nuestro protagonista va a ser Arisu, un genio al que solo le gusta jugar 24/7 sin tener ningún tipo de responsabilidad, y sus dos mejores amigos, Chota y Karube; ellos tres van a tener que comenzar a sobrevivir en este nuevo mundo no solo para tratar de regresar al mundo del que fueron tomados, si no para seguir con vida ahí, pues todas las personas tienen visas por días, que al vencerse significa que van a morir, ¿cómo se obtienen las visas?, jugando, nada más y nada menos, que apostando tu vida por obtener días extras con la esperanza de salir de ahí.
Ya desde esta sinopsis se comienzan a notar las diferencias notables que mucha gente parece ignorar premeditamente, en Alice in Borderland las personas son llevadas a una especia de realidad paralela donde el resto de personas desaparecen y ellos son obligados a jugar sin su consentimiento, cosa que no pasa en Squid Game, pues ahí las personas aceptan ir voluntariamente. ¿En Alice juegan para obtener una recompensa de dinero? No, juegan aunque puedan morir porque si no lo hacen también van a morir.
Squid Game is going to place us in a lower class city in Korea where if not everyone, most of the people owe up to their souls, economically speaking, and try to live day by day without thinking about the debts that little by little are going to hang them without pause. Our protagonist is going to be one of the worst types of person, that although his story is not tragic, his actions are and although he is charismatic and cares about other people, they do not excuse all the objectively bad things he has done and that in a certain way led him to participate in these games.
456 people are going to participate with his consent in 6 children's games with the promise of getting a giant prize of money that would solve their lives and they would never have worries again, but things take an unexpected turn when the people who lose the game, instead of being removed from the place, are killed and chaos takes over each and every one of the players because it was not what they expected to happen.
This may be a spoiler, but it will only be about the first chapter, so if you don't want to know, don't read this paragraph. After the first game, they will have the opportunity to stop playing because they do not want to continue betting their lives in the vain hope of winning and getting the reward, but when they return to their normal lives full of debts and realize the misery in which they are existing, more than 90% of people decide to return and continue playing. Better to die trying to be a millionaire, than to die poor, isn't it?
Squid Game nos va a situar en una ciudad de clase baja en Korea donde si no todo el mundo, la mayoría de las personas debe hasta el alma, economicamente hablando, y tratan de vivir el día a día sin pensar en las duedas que poco a poco los van a ahorcando sin pausa. Nuestro protagonista va a ser uno de los peores tipos de persona, que si bien su historia no es trágica, sus acciones lo son y aunque sea carismático y se preocupe por otras personas, no excusan todas las cosas objetivamente malas que ha hecho y que de cierta forma lo llevaron a participar en esos juegos.
456 personas van a participar con su consentimiento en 6 juegos infantiles con la promesa de obtener un premio gigante de dinero que les resolvería la vida y nunca más volverían a tener preocupaciones, pero las cosas toman un giro inesperado cuando las personas que pierden el juego, en vez de ser retiradas del lugar, son asesinadas y el caos se apodera de todos y cada uno de los jugaros, pues no era lo que esperaban que sucediera.
Esto quizás sea spoiler, pero será solo sobre el primer capítulo, así que si no quieren saberlo, no lean este párrafo. Después del primer juego van a tener la oportunidad de dejar de jugar pues no quieren seguir apostando sus vidas con la vana esperanza de ganar y obtener la recompensa, pero al volver a sus vidas normales llenas de deudas y caer en cuenta de la miseria en la que están existiendo, más del 90% de las personas decide volver y seguir jugando. Es mejor morir intentando ser millonario, que morir siendo pobre, ¿no?
Time to get down to the nitty-gritty, which is better? Well, neither. No, lie, Both series are good, but the biggest distinction and advantage that one has over the other is the budget and the quality of the photography, Squid Game has an impeccable and exquisite staging that Alice in Borderland does not have, and I feel objectives that make it better, according to the world, as it became the most-watched series on Netflix in a month when Alice in Borderland I think it went under the table and did not cause any stir in the world.
Alice has several things better than Squid Game, one of them, or the most outstanding is the excess of questions we have and the little information we are given to answer them, although people go playing, getting days of life, surviving, hoping to get out of there or even know where they are, they don't, and when they think they get the answers, these end up being false and it's back to the beginning of the tour without right of objection because in Squid Game we get almost all the answers in the first chapter and already, there is nothing else interesting apart from watching people dying in childish games.
The second thing that is better than Squid Game is the constant anxiety that we are going to feel during the chapters in general, and not only the games, because everything is chaotic to incredible levels and we are going to meet all kinds of people, that taking into account the place and the situation in which they are, they do everything possible to stay sane and not commit crazy things against everyone, or at least the few people who are with them in that unknown world.
Momento de entrar lo importante, ¿cuál es mejor? Pues ninguna. No, mentira, Ambas series son buenas, pero la mayor distinción y ventaja que tiene una sobre la otra es el presupuesto y la calidad de la fotografía, Squid Game tiene una puesta en escena impecable y exquisita que no tiene Alice in Borderland, y siento objetivos eso la hace mejor, según el mundo, pues se convirtió en la serie más vista de Netflix en un mes, cuando Alice in Borderland creo que pasó por debajo de la mesa y no causó ningún revuelo en el mundo.
Alice tiene varias cosas mejores que Squid Game, una de ellas, o la más resaltante es el exceso de preguntas que tenemos y la poca información que nos dan para responderlas, aunque las personas van jugando, obteniendo días de vida, sobreviviendo, esperando salir de ahí o aunque sea saber dónde están, no lo hacen, y cuando creeen conseguir las respuestas, estas terminan siendo falsas y se vuelve al principio del recorrido sin derecho a objeción, pues en Squid Game nos dan casi todas las respuestas en el primer capítulo y ya, no hay más nada interesante aparte de ver gente muriendo en juegos infantiles.
La segunda cosa que tiene mejor que Squid Game es la constante ansiedad que vamos a sentir durante los capítulos en general, y no solo los juegos, porque todo es caótico a niveles increíbles y vamos a conocer a todo tipo de personas, que teniendo en cuenta el lugar y la situación en la que se encuentran, hacen todo lo posible para manterese cuerdos y no cometer locuras contra todo el mundo, o al menos las pocas personas que están junto a ellos en ese mundo desconocido.
Beyond the giant production that Squid Game has, and how excessively neat it is, IT IS A TOO SLOW SERIES, and for me to say this it has to be something beyond my standards because I'm one of those who love slow movies and series to levels that have no idea, but no, Squid Game is slow as hell, boring and pointless, I want to believe they made it that way so that the rest of the scenes would have more impact, but no, they bore you almost to the point of boredom, I finished watching it because I wasn't going to write about the series without having finished it first.
It is slow in all the chapters, only the first game and the fourth game are the best moments and/or chapters, because although the first game is in the first chapter, it is only good at the last, and the whole chapter six is a masterpiece, but only because it is the most emotional chapter where we will get to know some of its characters more in-depth, where we will see the biggest betrayal in the world and I must say, Ali Abdul deserved a better ending, but as not even in the series the world is fair, it happened what happened.
And I thought I had nothing more good to say, but I think so, let's see if it comes out as it should, it's said that Squid Game was written more than ten years ago and it was rejected many times until finally Netflix agreed to produce it and it's the eighth wonder of the world today, so much so that they already confirmed the second season, but, anyway, this series, and here also even Alice in Borderland, these series are nothing from the other world, all that has already been seen in movies and other series before, it's just a matter of luck that some have so much fame and the rest do not because those concepts have been handled for many years, that Squid Game has more than 10 years created? That does not mean that it is better or worse than the productions made before, in the art world few things are isolated events that do not have a replica in the rest of the world, everything is already done and written, we just do not have the capabilities or resources to find out everything, so no, Squid Game is not new in the world, just that many people who are not used to see this kind of series and glorify it because it is the only thing they know.
Más allá de la gigante producción que tiene Squid Game, y de lo excesivamente pulcra que es, ES UNA SERIE DEMASIADO LENTA, y para que yo diga esto tiene que ser algo más allá de mis estándares, porque yo soy uno de los que ama las películas y series lentas a niveles que no tienen idea, pero no, Squid Game tiene una lentitud del demonio, aburrida y sin sentido, que quiero creer hicieron así para que el resto de las escenas tuvieran mayor impacto, pero no, aburren a uno casi hasta el hastio, la terminé de ver porque no iba a escribir sobre la serie sin haberla terminado antes.
Es lenta en todos los capítulos, solo el primer juego, y el cuarto juego son los mejores momentos y/o capítulos, porque aunque el primer juego es en el primer capítulo, solo es bueno a lo último, y todo el capítulo seis es una obra maestra, pero únicamente porque es el capítulo más emotivo donde llegaremos a conocer a algunos de sus personajes más a profundidad, donde veremos la mayor traición del mundo y debo decir, Ali Abdul merecía un final mejor, pero como ni siquiera en las series el mundo es justo, sucedió lo que sucedió.
Y creía que no tenía más nada bueno que decir, pero creo que sí, vamos a ver si sale como debería, se dice que Squid Game fue escrito hace más de diez años y que fue rechazado muchas veces hasta que finalmente Netflix aceptó producirla y es la octava maravilla del mundo actual, tanto así que ya confirmaron la segunda temporada, pero, en fin, esta serie, y aquí también incluso a Alice in Borderland, estas series no son nada del otro mundo, todo eso ya se ha visto en películas y otras series anteriormente, solo es cuestión de suerte que unas tengan tanta fama y el resto no, porque esos conceptos se han venido manejando desde hace muchos años, ¿que Squid Game tiene más de 10 años creada? Eso no significa que sea mejor o peor que las producciones echas con anterioridad, en el mundo del arte pocas cosas son sucesos aíslados que no tienen una replica en el resto del mundo, todo ya está hecho y escrito, solo que no tenemos las capacidades ni los recursos para enterarnos de todo, así que no, Squid Game no es ninguna novedad en el mundo, solo que mucha gente que no está acostumbrada a ver este tipo de series y la glorifican porque es lo único que conocen.
Does the fact that everything Squid Game and Alice in Borderland show has already been seen mean that both series are bad? Not at all, both series are good in their own way, with different strengths and weaknesses, and one of them that I didn't mention before is the abrupt way in which we are going to know the history of the characters in Alice, although we are going to be seeing several characters from the first chapters, it is until the last chapter that we will know their past and it is going to be so abrupt that we are going to feel suspicious and have a lack of trust because it is not possible to create an emotional/affective bond with any of them, and this does not mean that their pasts are bad, no, not incredible, but it is so fast that glimpse into the past that it is not going to mark us at all.
That's another of Squid Game's strengths, people will have plenty of time to talk and express themselves, telling all the tragedies and events that led them to bet their lives on children's games. I have to say that Squid Game seemed to me more like a comedy series than a drama series, because fuck, when I wasn't dying of boredom, I was dying of laughter because of the great number of absurd things we are going to see, because yes, more than once I laughed with the deaths I was watching, it was too funny.
I could go on talking about characters, scenes, performances, soundtracks, and many more things, but as I told you, I don't want to write too much and that's why I made this shared review of two very different series that people compare for no reason. ¿Porque todo lo que muestren Squid Game y Alice in Borderland ya se haya visto significa que ambas series son malas? Para nada, ambas series son buenas a su estilo, con fortalezas y debilidades diferentes, y una de ellas que no mencioné antes es la forma abrupta en que vamos a conocer la historia de los personajes en Alice, aunque vamos a estar viendo a varios personajes desde los primeros capítulos, es hasta lo último que conoceremos su pasado y va a ser tan abrupto que vamos a sentir recelo y tener una falta de confianza pues no se logra crear un vínculo emocional/afectivo con ninguno de ellos, y esto no quiere decir que sus pasados son malos, no, sin increíbles, pero es tan rápido ese vistazo al pasado que no nos va a marcar del todo.
Esa es otra de las fortalezas de Squid Game, ahí las personas van a tener tiempo de sobra para hablar y expresarse, contando todas las tragedias y sucesos que los llevaron a apostar la vida en juegos de niños. Tengo que decir que Squid Game me parecía más una serie de comedia que de drama, porque joder, cuando no estaba muriendo de aburrimiento, estaba muriendo de risa por la gran cantidad de cosas absurdas que vamos a ver, porque sí, más de una vez me reí con las muertes que estaba viendo, fue demasiado divertido.
Podría seguir hablando de personajes, escenas, actuaciones, soundtracks y muchas cosas más, pero como les dije, no quiero escribir mucho y por eso hice esta reseña compartida de dos series muy diferentes que la gente compara sin razón alguna.
