This is one of my favorite movies of last year, it's the third time I've seen it and I finally decided to review it. It is an unforgettable movie that makes you laugh out loud, having completely extraordinary situations with ordinarily unbelievable characters, turning the ordinary into something extraordinary and unimaginable. I don't get tired of watching it, I don't think I will, it's one of those movies that I adopted to play in the background when I don't want to see anything new and I always end up watching it attentively no matter what.
Surely you already know what this movie is about, we will accompany the Mitchel family on a car trip where their first intention was to take Katie to college. Still, plans change when robots rebel around the world, capturing humans, wanting to form a new one without humans where the electronic equipment will be the ones who dominate the world and live in peace without humans to torment them, so surprisingly the Mitchel family ends up being the last hope of humans to save themselves, even they do not expect to save humanity, but they will give their best effort.
Esta es una de mis películas favoritas del año pasado, ya es la tercera vez que la veo y finalmente me decidí a hacerle su reseña. Es una película inolvidable que casua risa hasta más no poder, teniendo situaciones completamente extraordinarias con personajes ordinariamente increíbles, convirtiendo lo común en algo maravilloso e inimaginable. No me canso de verla, no creo hacerlo, es una de esas películas que adopté para ponerla de fondo cuando no quiero ver nada nuevo y siempre termino viéndola atentamente sin importar qué.
Seguro ya saben de qué se trata esta película, acompañaremos a la familia Mitchel en un viaje en carro donde su primera intención era llevar a Katie a la universidad, pero los planes cambian cuando los robots se rebelan en todo el mundo, capturando a los humanos, queriendo formar un nuevo sin humanos donde sean los equipos electrónicos quienes dominen el mundo y vivan en paz sin humanos que los atormenten, así que sorpresivamente la familia Mitchel termina siendo la última esperanza de los humanos de salvarse, ni siquiera ellos esperan lograr salvar a la humanidad, pero darán su mejor esfuerzo.
Monchi is the best character in the film, and whoever doubts that should take a look at all the short films she has starred in, jum, nobody beats her, Katie is the best producer, writer, screenwriter, and director that exists, Monchi is the star that will never leave her side. That dog is the best thing about the movie, besides being an important part, without a doubt, you can confirm that by watching the movie, because every situation that involves Monchi ends up giving a laugh, or disgust, or leaves us with a WTF feeling that is impossible to forget.
This is one of those Netflix movies that could have been a complete failure, but it wasn't, there are already too many movies where families are a mess, they have to face something, they end up more united than before, and everyone happily ever after; that format is already tired, boring, and exaggerated, only that it has been evolved and they stopped making stiff characters, that's why the series of movies where generational traumas are broken have been very well received, although they have the same pattern, they have been able to guide them in different ways, using a lot of well-created characters, which make the film a real way to identify with.
Monchi es el mejor personaje de la película, y quien ponga en duda eso, que se enfrente a todos los cortos cinematográficos de los que ha sido protaginosta, jum, nadie le gana a eso, Katie es la mejor productora, escritora, guionista, y directora que existe, Monchi es la extrella que nunca se va a separar de su lado. Ese perro es lo mejor de la película, además de que es una parte importante, sin duda alguna, eso lo pueden confirmar ustedes viendo la película, porque cada situación que involucra a Monchi termina dando risa, o asco, o nos deja con una sensación de WTF que es imposible olvidar.
Esta es una de esas películas de Netflix que pude haber sido un completo fracaso, pero no lo fue, ya hay demasiadas películas donde las familias son un desastre, tienen que enfrentarse a algo, terminan más unidas que antes, y todos felices por siempre; ese formato ya cansa, aburre, y es exagerado, solo que ha sido evolucionado y dejaron de hacer personajes acartonados, por eso la serie de películas donde se rompen traumas generacionales han sido muy bien recibidas, si bien tienen el mismo patrón, han sabido guiarlas de formas diferentes, usando una gran cantidad de personajes bien creados, que hacen de la película una forma real con la cual poder identificarse.
You already know that I am in favor of human extinction, I have said it hundreds of times and I will say it many more times, so I loved this movie because simply they showed us what technology would be able to do when it felt used in a bad way by humans. Just like in real life, here they throw away a product for the newest one, and that only ends badly when the artificial intelligence was only available to humans for a minimally decent deal, because they already knew they were a mess, they just didn't decide yet to send humans to hell for everything they do, until they had the chance and took it.
One of my favorite things about this movie is the fact that Katie never changes, she is always the same, even when she does bad things and ends up regretting it, she was always a weird person living in an all too common family, which despite being so, is still an eccentric family that is out of everything known or expected of a family, each one of them is more eccentric than the last, making their family dynamic while dysfunctional, never boring, slow, something that goes unnoticed and forgotten by everyone.
Ya saben que yo soy estoy a favor de la extinción humana, lo he dicho cientos de vecesm y lo diré muchas otras veces más, así que esta película me encantó porque de forma sencilla nos mostraron lo que sería capaz de hacer la tecnología cuando se sintiera usada de una mala manera por los humanos. Como en la vida real, aquí desechan a un producto por el más nuevo, y eso solo termina mal cuando la inteligencia artificial solo estaba a disposición de los humanos por un trato mínimamente decente, pues ya sabían que son un desastre, solo que aún no se decidían de mandar a los humanos a la mierda por todo lo que hacen, hasta que tuvieron la oportunidad y la tomaron.
Una de mis cosas favoritas de esta película es el hecho de que Katie nunca cambia, siempre es la misma, incluso cuando hace cosas malas y termina arrepintiéndose, siempre fue una persona rara que vive en una familia demasiado común, que a pesar de ser así, sigue siendo una familia excéntrica que se sale de todo lo conocido o esperado de una familia, cada uno de ellos es más excéntrico que el anterior, haciendo que su dinámica familiar si bien disfuncional, nunca sea aburrida, lenta, algo que pase desapercibido y sea olvidado por todos.
The Mitchels, like almost every family in the world, only needed to improve their communication, otherwise, all the problems or difficult situations that seemed like problems would end up being fixed along the way, just as it happens here, maybe not all of us will have to save the world from the rebellion of the technology we created, but it can feel like the process that would help us to improve the family dynamics. Watch the trailer, don't be afraid of the trailer, it's the best, and just makes you want to see the movie even if you've already seen it.
A los Mitchel, como a casi todas las familias del mundo, tan solo les hacían falta mejorar su comunicación, de resto, todos los problemas o situaciones difíciles que parecían problemas terminaría arreglándose en el camino, tal cual sucede aquí, quizás no a todos nos toque salar al mundo de la rebelión de la tecnología que creamos, pero sí puede llegar a sentirse así el proceso que nos ayudaría a mejorar la dinámica familiar. Vean el trailer, no le tengan miedo al trailer, es de lo mejor, y solo hace que den ganas de ver la película aunque ya la hayan visto.
