To give my opinion unfortunately I will have to make spoilers about the main character. Anyway, if you are going to watch this new series is because you already know who Berlin is and what happened to him in La Casa de Papel.
Alex Pina and his co-stars didn't know they were making a big mistake at the end of the first heist of La Casa de papel. Berlin's character became one of the audience's favorites. He was a cold, intelligent, sophisticated villain with hints of a psychopath. He did despicable things, he was a character to hate and love at the same time. The people in charge of writing the story decided that he should die and so he did.
Although La Casa de Papel is a series that jumped the shark many times in its subsequent split seasons, reviving Berlin would be difficult. No one survives those shots. But the character's hook was great, fans of The House of Paper wanted more of their favorite psychopath and so he returned in those seasons in several Flashbacks. Everything would have been different if he had not been eliminated. Instead of a prequel, we would be enjoying a direct sequel.

Alex Pina y sus compañeros no sabían que estaban cometiendo un gran error al final del primer robo de La Casa de papel. El personaje de Berlín se convirtió en uno de los favoritos del público. Era un villano frío, inteligente, sofisticado y con toques de psicópata. Hacía cosas despreciables, era un personaje para odiar y amar al mismo tiempo. Los encargados de escribir la historia decidieron que debía morir y así fue.
Aunque La Casa de Papel es una serie que saltó el tiburón muchas veces en sus siguientes temporadas divididas en partes, revivir Berlín sería difícil. Nadie sobrevive a esos tiros. Pero el gancho del personaje era muy grande, los fans de La Casa de Papel querían más de su psicópata favorito y por eso volvió en esas temporadas en varios Flashbacks. Todo hubiera sido diferente si no hubiera sido eliminado. En lugar de una precuela, estaríamos disfrutando de una secuela directa.

While with the Professor's gang and in the flashbacks he instilled fear and was an elegant but explosive character, in the spin-off that bears his name, he only threatens and the scene in which he should instill fear, is so cliché and a thousand times seen, that I felt sorry for him.
Is it a robbery? It was as it should be, but they try to create a romantic series with a couple with no chemistry. There's nothing more ridiculous than watching a 40-something doing little dances and making lovey-dovey faces as if he were a teenager. If you're in your forties and you have a sugar baby, don't do this nonsense, you're going to look ugly, is my suggestion. Although in the end everyone does with his life what he wants.
Ya conocemos varias de sus otras aventuras, su amistad con el personaje Palermo, otros robos, tiene un hijo, también habíamos conocido a una mujer a la que ama con locura. Y por supuesto, volvimos a ver en esos flashbacks su comportamiento frío y despiadado. Así que me parece lamentable, que con este spin off precuela se destruya toda la esencia del personaje. Este no es el Berlín que a muchos gustó en La Casa de Papel.
Puede que tenga mucho de precuela, antes de que le diagnosticaran la enfermedad y mientras su hermano, El Profesor, planificaba el golpe a La Casa de la Moneda. Pero este no es el Berlín machista y psicótico que conocimos. No hay nada más ridículo que ver a un cuarentón haciendo bailecitos y poniendo caras de enamorado como si fuera un adolescente. Si eres cuarentón y tienes un sugar baby, no hagas estas tonterías, te vas a ver muy feo, es mi sugerencia. Aunque al final cada uno hace con su vida lo que quiere.
They suppressed the best of the character and transformed him into that Berlin in love as a fifteen year old. A child longing for a toy. The worst thing is that the series wastes a lot of time in this meaningless romance. I know that romance is important in these stories, in La Casa de Papel there was also romance, but in Berlin they add much more to it.
During the series Andres de Fonollosa spends all his time in the romantic comedy, leaving the responsibility of the robbery on his work team. What does Berlin do? Apart from ridicule, nothing. He does absolutely nothing. He merely tells the others to solve a certain problem while he chases after a silly-faced woman.
Little faces. The faces everyone on the team makes in every episode, because every episode has one or more sequences where everyone walks around looking cool. Or they pose to make a face that looks good for the camera. This is typical of heist movies and series, it's part of the formula, but here it's tiring and boring.
Because I got really bored watching this series. It had its interesting moments. Full of clichés, but they are part of the heist genre. But focusing too much time on the romance made me numb and this is definitely not the Berlin I liked in La Casa de Papel.
I'm not saying you shouldn't see it. On the contrary. Watch it, it's a hit on Netflix, it's what the masses want to watch. For me it's a series that disappointed me a bit. To watch and kill time, then you'll forget about it.

Suprimieron lo mejor del personaje y lo transformaron en ese Berlín enamorado como un quinceañero. Un niño deseoso de un juguete. Lo peor es que la serie pierde mucho tiempo en este romance sin sentido. Sé que el romance es importante en estas historias, en La Casa de Papel también había romance, pero en Berlín le añaden mucho más.
Durante la serie Andrés de Fonollosa se pasa todo el tiempo en la comedia romántica, dejando la responsabilidad del robo en su equipo de trabajo. ¿Qué hace Berlín? Aparte del ridículo, nada. No hace absolutamente nada. Se limita a decirles a los demás que resuelvan cierto problema mientras él persigue a una mujer con cara de tonto.
Caritas. Las caras que ponen todos los del equipo en cada episodio, porque cada episodio tiene una o varias secuencias en las que todos andan con cara de guays. O posan para poner una cara que quede bien a la cámara. Esto es típico de las películas y series de atracos, es parte de la fórmula, pero aquí cansa y aburre.
Porque yo me aburrí mucho viendo esta serie. Tuvo sus momentos interesantes. Llena de clichés, pero son parte del género de atracos. Pero centrar demasiado tiempo en el romance me adormiló y esto definitivamente no es el Berlín que me gustó en La Casa de Papel.
No estoy diciendo que no debas verlo. Al contrario. Véanla, es un éxito en Netflix, es lo que las masas quieren ver. Para mí es una serie que me decepcionó un poco. Para ver y matar el tiempo, luego te olvidarás de ella.
