A few days ago I wrote a story inspired by the crimes committed by Epstein, then I found myself in Netflix this mini documentary series of four episodes, which are few, because it is a topic that deserves to be treated in greater depth.

The docuserie focuses on two narrative arches, on the one hand, the investigation that was carried out by the Palm Beach police, after receiving the complaints, obtaining the surveillance orders and the subsequent search of Epstein's house, located in that luxurious area, exclusive for millionaires. An investigation that hit the power wall. When the prosecutor who was handling the case, in a suspicious way, makes an agreement with Epstein to plead guilty and serve a small sentence. Filling the victims who'd filed complaints with frustration.
The second approach is theirs, the victims. The women who appear in the mini documentary series are the central element. They are important and the documentary serves them to leave the testimonies of everything they lived. For me this is the most important part. The mini-series gives them that voice, the opportunity to give their version of the events, that the viewers, let's hear from them, as it was the modus operandi of that monster.
The filthy millionaire acted with impunity for a long time, it is not known exactly how many women, most of them minors, were victims. There must be many who dare not say anything, wanting to leave everything in the past.
Epstein's money, power and influence allowed him to lead a life of sexual predator without problems for a long time. He never imagined that there would come a time when even that could not save him, there are many unknowns to be solved. How far does the possible network of predatory millionaires go? The mystery surrounding Epstein's possible suicide leaves a door open for conspiracy theories.

The miniserie documentary series directed by Lisa Bryant also emphasizes Epstein's friendships. The predatory millionaire was a friend of the current president, the filmmaker Allen, Clinton, Prince Andrew, etc. There is only evidence that Prince Andrew also slept with minors, because of the testimony of one of the women in the documentary. The same woman who goes out with the prince, in the famous photo that was published by the newspapers when the scandal broke. The declarations of Prince Andrew in a television program, saying that he did not remember when that picture was taken, what they do is sink him further. That man is another monster.
Clinton and the others, Epstein's own victims have said they were not with them. But if they saw him on the millionaire's private island, talking or eating. Although Epstein's friends did not abuse any girls, they most likely knew that the millionaire liked them very young, and they kept quiet.

It is the silence of powerful friends that also makes them accomplices. It's the same with the Roger Ailes and Harvey Weinstein abuse cases. Everyone who was around, friends, employees, etc. They were silent. They're all to blame for the fact that so many girls were abused over the years.
The same guilt that some of the victims claim they have come to feel. Because Epstein used every single one of them, to take other girls. It was a pyramid scheme, as one of the lawyers explains in the documentary. Each girl became a recruiter for other girls.
In the victims' statements, they also point to the role played by Ghislaine Maxwell, a woman who was Epstein's girlfriend, and who was part of all the abuse. She also recruited girls and even participated sexually, making her a predator who had sex with minors. She is from British high society and is currently unaccounted for. I did an internet search on the latest news about her, and there is no certainty of where she is. Maxwell has denied all the accusations that the victims are making, but that she is hiding in this way, makes her look more guilty.
There are too many interests and powerful people in the middle of all this. I think it will never be discovered how far the reach of this network was. All the secrets went with the death of the filthy millionaire.
My Rankin: 3.5/5
