Next Sunday, January 5 kicks off the film and television awards season in the United States with the Golden Globes ceremony and I'll tell you my favorites and predictions.

We start the year with the Golden Globes. First week of January and we already have the first Hollywood awards party. What I don't like is that several of the nominated films have not been released in my country. I've seen very few, so I'm a bit lost with the movie categories. Now, in the television categories I have seen most of the nominated series.
What I have written in this post is my opinion, so I will be more positive with the series and actors I want to see win. These awards have been pretty predictable the last few years. There's no room for many surprises anymore. This year I don't think I'll watch the ceremony, I'll probably follow it on twitter to find out the winners and watch some clips. Even the red carpets have become very boring.
Let's move on to the categories. Best comedy or musical series. There will be no surprises here. The nominees are excellent series. Again the great duel is between Only Murders in the Building and the Bear. The result will be repeated again. The Bear is the big winner in this category. Does anyone dare to doubt it?
The Bear also has a good chance of winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Series. Ayo Edibiri is emerging as one of the favorites, but watch out for Jean Smart for the series Hacks. Marvel fans want Kathryn Hahn to win, but for me the fight is between Edibiri and Smart. Surprisingly Jeremy Allen White is not nominated for Best Actor for The Bear, so this comedy/musical category will be between the two stars of Only Murder in a Building and Ted Danson, who is fabulous in A Man Undercover. I think the foreign press will go for Danson, although this is a category where I like all the performances.
Empezamos el año con los Globos de Oro. Primera semana de enero y ya tenemos la primera fiesta de los premios de Hollywood. Lo que no me gusta es que varias de las películas nominadas no se han estrenado en mi país. He visto muy pocas, así que estoy un poco perdido con las categorías de cine. If those two acting awards go to Shogun. Obviously the award for best drama series will go to that masterpiece. The best supporting actor and actress categories mix drama, comedy, musical, miniseries and anthology series. I would love to see actress Liza Colon-Zayas win for Teh bear, as she starred in a fantastic episode last season. I should watch out for Jessica Gunning for bbay Reindeer. I think it will be between these two actresses the winner. Supporting Actor I would like to see Tadanobu Asano for Shogun, but Javier Bardem is everyone's favorite. Best actress in an anthology miniseries, there is very strong competition. They are all excellent performances and there are several great stars. I think the most recent is Millioti for Penguin. Blanchett and Foster to me have the best chance and my gut feeling is that the association is going to award Jodie Foster. Best Actor is also a strong and very close category. I have several favorites but I would love Colin Farrell for his performance in The Penguin. Most likely to win is Richard Gadd for My Hairy Reindeer, a series that already won at the Emmys.
In the film category I haven't seen several of the nominees. So I don't dare to give an accurate opinion. I have yet to see The Brutalist, which I think I will like its story and it is the one that seems to me the most appropriate film for these awards in the Drama category. Conclave is a thriller set in the Vatican. Nickel Boys its nomination is already the prize. I have not seen September 5 although the theme of the film appeals to me. Especulare and my bet is on The Brutalist.
In a comedy or musical film it is more difficult. The Substance is a work that fascinated me and I'm surprised by its nomination. I would be very happy if it wins, although Demi Moore will surely take the award for her performance in that film, she deserves it. Karla Sofia Gascon's performance in Emilia Perez is nothing to me. If they give the award to this trans actor it is for other issues. Emilia Perez did not seem to me a rounded film and I will write about it later. Audiard didn't convince me with this one and I think so many nominations are due to the insufferable gender politics that currently rules the industry. Anora is the film that should win in the comedy or musical category as well as its director. This I will explain in their respective reviews shortly.

La mejor actriz de miniserie de antología, hay una competencia muy fuerte. Todas son excelentes interpretaciones y hay varias grandes estrellas. Creo que la más reciente es Millioti para Penguin. Blanchett y Foster son para mí las que tienen más posibilidades y mi instinto me dice que la asociación va a premiar a Jodie Foster. Mejor Actor también es una categoría fuerte y muy reñida. Tengo varios favoritos pero me encantaría Colin Farrell por su interpretación en El Pingüino. Lo más probable es que gane Richard Gadd por Mi reno peludo, una serie que ya ganó en los Emmy.
En la categoría de cine no he visto varias de las nominadas. Así que no me atrevo a dar una opinión precisa. Me alegraría mucho si gana, aunque seguramente Demi Moore se lleve el premio por su actuación en ese film, lo merece. La actuación de Karla Sofía Gascón en Emilia Pérez no me parece nada del otro mundo. Si le dan el premio a este actor trans es por otros temas. Emilia Pérez no me pareció una película redonda y escribiré sobre ella más adelante. Audiard no me convenció con esta y creo que tantas nominaciones se deben a la insufrible política de género que rige actualmente la industria. Anora es la película que debería ganar en la categoría de comedia o musical así como su director. Esto lo explicaré en sus respectivas críticas próximamente.
