1. ANTIDISTURBIOS

An anti-riot team, consisting of six officers, is assigned to carry out an eviction in an apartment in the center of Madrid. During the eviction operation, something goes wrong and a tragedy occurs. An internal affairs team opens an investigation. Laia Urquijo of Internal Affairs feels that the men are hiding something. As the investigation deepens, the story takes a turn that uncovers the sewers of the corrupt system, where all the agencies, the police, the judges, the businessmen and the politicians are involved. An excellent work by Rodrigo Sorogoyen and Isabel Peña that has been a critical and public success, there was a controversy with some police agencies in that country, for the portrait they make of the anti-riot agents . Six episodes of high tension, which are framed within what some have called the Sorogoyenverse, because it has many points in common with the filmmaker's previous films. Un equipo de antidisturbios, conformado por seis funcionarios son asignados para hace un desahucio en un piso del centro de Madrid, durante la operación de desalojo, algo sale mal y ocurre una tragedia. Un equipo de asuntos internos, abre una investigación. Laia Urquijo, de asuntos internos, presiente que los hombres ocultan algo, profundizando en la investigación, la historia tomara un giro que destapara las cloacas del sistema corrupto, donde todos los organismos, policías, jueces, empresarios y políticos, están involucrados. Una excelente obra de Rodrigo Sorogoyen e Isabel Peña que ha sido un éxito de crítica y público, hubo polémica con algunos organismos policiales de ese país, pro el retrato que hacen de los agentes antidisturbios. . Seis episodios de alta tensión, que entran dentro de lo que algunos han denominado el Sorogoyenverso, porque tiene muchos puntos en común con las anteriores películas del cineasta. Absolutamente recomendada.

2. VENENO

Based on the book written by Valeria Vegas, the mini-series tells us about the life of Cristina Ortiz Rivero, a transsexual woman who became a television star during the 1990s in Spain and was known by the nickname of La Veneno... Hated and loved, there is no doubt that she marked an era of Spanish television, and became an icon for the LGBT community. The creators, Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo ( Los Javis) hooked me with this story, which is a roller coaster of emotions, ranging from laughter to tears. It is a production that I loved in every way, with an extraordinary cast, mostly of little known transsexual actresses and where a variety of narrative elements are used that make watching it a great pleasure. Basada en el libro escrito por Valeria Vegas, la mini serie nos narra la vida de Cristina Ortiz Rivero, una mujer transexual que se convirtió en una estrella de televisión durante la década de los 90 en España y que fue conocida con el apodo de La Veneno.. Odiada y amada, no hay duda de que marco una época de la televisión española, y se convirtió en icono para la comunidad LGBT. Los creadores, Javier Ambrossi y Javier Calvo ( Los Javis) me engancharon con esta historia, la cual es un montaña rusa de emociones, pasando de la risa al llanto, es una producción que me encanto en todos los sentidos, con un extraordinario elenco, en su mayoría de actrices transexuales poco conocidas y donde se utilizan una variedad de elementos narrativos que hacen de su visionado un gran placer. Es una mini serie que al terminar sus ocho episodios, de inmediato querrás volver a verla desde el principio. ¡Te la recomiendo!

3. PATRIA

HBO Spain premieres the long-awaited adaptation of the novel by writer Fernando Aramburu, where he tells the story of two families, initially united, but who will be divided by the Basque conflict and ETA terrorism. Before its premiere, there was a controversy about a poster that HBO used to promote it, but fortunately, the adaptation is still faithful enough to what the author wanted to convey in the novel. It is an emotional and painful story, where everyone is a victim of a conflict that is kept alive in the memory and with a closure where forgiveness plays a fundamental role. Created by Aitor Gabilondo and with two actresses Elenea Irureta and Ane Gabarain who deserve all the praise they have received for their performances. My review in this Link.

HBO España estreno la esperada adaptación de la novela del escritor Fernando Aramburu, donde nos cuenta la historia de dos familias, en un principio unidas, pero que serán divididas por el conflicto vasco y el terrorismo de ETA. Antes de su estreno, hubo polémica pro un poster que uso HBO para promocionarla, pero afortunadamente, la adaptación se mantiene suficientemente fiel a lo que el autos quería transmitir en la novela. Es una historia emotiva y dolorosa, donde todos son víctimas en un conflicto que se mantiene vivo en la memoria y con un cierre donde el perdón juega un factor fundamental. Creada por Aitor Gabilondo y con dos actrices Elenea Irureta y Ane Gabarain que merecen todos los elogios que han recibido por sus interpretaciones.

4. EL DESAFIO: ETA

One of the definitive documentaries on ETA, the production of Amazon Studios, has eight episodes directed by Hugo Stuven where they tell us the history of ETA from its origins, but above all, the history of all the victims of terrorism. With testimonies from victims, survivors, ex-members of the terrorist group, ex-presidents of government and police officers who were at the forefront of the fight against this organization. A forceful and very important documentary to be seen, so as not to forget the victims of this madness that a country suffered, and whose wounds remain open in the memory of all those who lived through those dark years. I have not been able to write a review of the documentary, but I recommend that you see it as soon as possible.

Uno de los documentales definitivos sobre ETA, la producción de Amazon Studios, cuenta con ocho episodios dirigidos por Hugo Stuven donde nos cuentan la historia de ETA desde sus orígenes, pero especialmente, la historia de todas las víctimas del terrorismo. Con testimonios de victimas, sobrevivientes, ex miembros del grupo terrorista, ex presidentes de gobierno y policías que estuvieron al frente de la lucha contra esta organización. Un documental contundente y muy importante que sea visto, para no olvidar a las víctimas de esta locura que sufrió un país, y cuyas heridas se mantienen abiertas en la memoria de todos los que vivieron esos años oscuros. De este documental no he podido hacer una reseña, pero recomiendo que la veas lo más pronto posible.

5. 30 MONEDAS

The 30 coins that Judas received when he betrayed Christ are being collected by a secret organization operating from the Vatican. The fate of humanity is at stake, if those 30 coins are collected. In a remote village in Spain, Father Vergara, who has one of the coins in his possession, will have to fight the forces of evil. Vergara is an exorcist, practices boxing and was in prison, now he will have to ally himself with the mayor of the town and with Elena, the veterinarian, to face the forces led by the devil. Created by Alex de la Iglesia, it is not over yet, but the episodes seen already make her worthy of a special place on my list. It is a quality HBO production and if you like Alex de la Iglesia's movies as much as I do, then you will love this series, because it has everything we like about the universes created by this filmmaker. Las 30 monedas que recibió Judas al traicionar a Cristo, están siendo recolectadas por una organización secreta que funciona desde el Vaticano. El destino de la humanidad está en juego, si esas 30 monedas llegar a ser juntadas. En un remoto pueblo de España, el Padre Vergara, que tiene una de las monedas en su poder, deberá luchar contra las fuerzas del mal. Vergara es exorcista, practica boxeo y estuvo en prisión, ahora deberá aliarse con el alcalde del pueblo y Elena, la veterinaria, para hacerle frente a las fuerzas lideras por el demonio. Creada de Alex de la Iglesia, todavía no ha terminado, pero los episodios vistos, ya la hacen merecedora de un lugar especial dentro de mi lista. Es una producción con la calidad de HBO y si te gustan las películas de Alex de la Iglesia, tanto como a mí, entonces esta serie te encantara, porque tiene todo lo que nos encanta de los universos creados por este cineasta.

6. LA UNIDAD

In a rescue operation for girls recruited by a terrorist cell, the Spanish anti-terrorist unit captured the world's most wanted terrorist leader. The unit that fights against terrorism, headed by Carla Torres, will have to face the imminent danger and stop the attack. The series I like, are six intense episodes, where we see the movement of the terrorists and how the group of members of the unit will have to prevent a possible attack, while they have their personal problems. This production was thought as a mini-series, but due to the great acceptance, it seems that Dani de la Torre and Alberto Marini, the creators, are working on a possible second season. En un operativo de rescate de unas chicas que habían sido reclutadas por una célula terrorista, la unidad ante terrorista española captura al líder terrorista más buscado del mundo. Esto traerá consecuencias, convirtiendo al país en objetivo para una represalia y ataque por parte del grupo terrorista islámico. La unidad que lucha contra el terrorismo, encabezado por Carla Torres, deberá hacer frente al peligro inminente y detener el ataque. La serie me gusto, son seis episodios intensos, donde vemos el movimiento de los terroristas y como el grupo de miembros de la unidad deberán impedir un posible ataque, al mismo tiempo que tienen sus problemas personales. Esta producción estaba pensada como mini serie, pero debía a l abuena aceptación, parece que Dani de la Torre y Alberto Marini, los creadores, están trabajando en una posible segunda temporada.

7. LA LÍNEA INVISIBLE

Another story whose main plot is about ETA, being a year whose theme was very present in the fiction of Spanish television. The invisible line tells us about the origin of ETA and the violence, when they decided to cross the line and commit the first murder. Txabi Etxebarrieta takes control of the organization, which decides to assume the armed struggle as the only option to achieve its objectives. Unfortunately, the young civil guard José Antonio Pardines would become the first mortal victim of the terrorist group in 1968, initiating decades of death and tragedy. The filmmaker Mariano Barroso is the creator of this mini-series, which was to my liking and my complete opinion can be read in this Link.

Otra historia cuya trama principal es sobre ETA, siendo un año cuyo tema estuvo muy presente en la ficción televisiva española. La línea invisible nos cuenta el origen de ETA y la violencia, cuando decidieron traspasar la línea y cometer el primer asesinato. Txabi Etxebarrieta se hace con el control de la organización , que deciden asumir la lucha armada como única opción para lograr sus objetivos, lamentablemente, el joven guardia civil José Antonio Pardines se convertiría en la primera víctima mortal del grupo terrorista en 1968, dando inicio a décadas de muerte y tragedia. El cineasta Mariano Barroso es el creador de esta mini serie.

8. EL DESORDEN QUE DEJAS

A teacher moves to her husband's hometown, where she is hired to teach literature at the village school. What she doesn't know is that she is replacing Viruca, the former teacher who apparently committed suicide. For Viruca's ex-husband, she was murdered and the truth is hidden in the village. Raquel, the new teacher will have conflicts with some students who had a difficult relationship with Viruca. She will initiate an investigation to discover the truth about the death of the former teacher. History alternates past and present, with twists and turns in history until the end of the mystery, which was a bit disappointing for me. But just to see Barbara Lennie, I don't mind the inconsistency of some scenes. I published my review a few days ago, you can see it in this Link.

Una profesora se muda al pueblo de origen de su esposo, sonde es contratada para dar clases de literatura en la escuela del pueblo, lo que ella no sabe, es que está sustituyendo a Viruca, la anterior profesora que aparentemente se suicido. Para el ex esposo de Viruca, la mataron y en el pueblo ocultan la verdad. Raquel, la nueva profesora tendrá conflictos con algunos alumnos que tuvieron una difícil relación con Viruca, ella iniciara un investigación para descubrir la verdad sobre la muerte de la anterior profesora. La historia alterna el pasado y el presente, con giros en la historia hasta llegar al desenlace del misterio, el cual fue un poco decepcionante para mí. Pero solo por ver a Barbara Lennie , no me importa las incoherencias de algunas escenas.

9. LOS FAVORITOS DE MIDAS

This is the one I liked the least, because it has a political message that is too sympathetic to the left, a free adaptation by Mateo Gil and Miguel Barros of the Jack London story and that among its actors is the controversial Willy Toledo, a lover of the Cuban dictatorship. LuisTosar plays the main character, a millionaire who receives a letter from the favorites of the secret organization Midas, asking him for a large sum of money, otherwise a stranger will be killed from time to time, until he complies with the payment. Although I don't agree with the implicit message of the mini-series, and slowing it down in a couple of chapters, it was entertaining. My full opinion on it can be read at this Link.

Esta es la que menos me gusto de todas, porque tiene un mensaje político demasiado simpatizante con la izquierda, una adaptación libre de Mateo Gil y Miguel Barros, del relato de Jack London y que entre sus actores esta el polémico Willy Toledo, amante de la dictaduras cubana. LuisTosar interpreta al protagonista, un millonario que recibe una carta de la organización secreta Los favoritos de Midas, donde le piden una alta suma de dinero, de lo contrario, un extraño será asesinado cada cierto tiempo, hasta que el cumpla con el pago. Aunque yo no estoy de acuerdo con el mensaje implícito de la mini serie, y bajar el ritmo en un par de capítulos, fue entretenida.

10. VAMOS JUAN

This is not a mini-series, in fact it is the second season of the series that in its first batch of episodes was called Vota Juan. But it is the only Spanish comedy I have seen and I like it so much that I have decided to put it on my list. It is a half hour comedy each episode and the plot revolves around Juan Carrasco, who is back in his village, teaching, but decides to resume his political career and found his own party to run for the next election. A very entertaining political comedy with the great actor Javier Cámara. I made the review in April, you can see it in this Link.

En esta hay trampa, no es una mini serie, en realidad es la segunda temporada de la serie que en su primera tanda de episodios se titulo Vota Juan. Pero es la única comedia española que vi y me gusta tanto que he decidido ponerla en mi lista. Es una comedia de media hora y la trama de gira en torno a Juan, quien esta de regreso a su pueblo, dando clases, pero decide retomar su carrera política y fundar su propio partido para postularse en las próximas elecciones. Una comedia política muy entretenida y con el gran actor Javier Cámara.
