Hello to all fans of good stories, I hope you are feeling great today... this time I want to share with you a new review. This time I will give you my opinion about the well known movie Call Me By Your Name, and this story is one of those that really transports you, both geographically and emotionally, to another place...nothing ever feels forced or overly dramatic. This story is set in Italy in the early 1980s, and is a feast for the senses...a very interesting and thoughtful exploration of love and self-discovery. Not only is the story not at all typical, but as the minutes tick by you feel as if you are actually there, lying in the sun or swimming in the rivers alongside the protagonists. There is a timeless quality to director Luca Guadachino's mise-en-scène... and the way he beautifully captures all those landscapes, making the Italian summer feel like a character in the film, is truly incredible...
Among the most remarkable aspects I can highlight about this film is its simplicity, the director doesn't rely on grand gestures or complex narrative techniques to try to push and cajole you, on the contrary, he just conveys the complexities of a different relationship between the main characters, Elio and Oliver... he allows the story to flow in an organic way, often stopping at silent and very intimate moments... things that build little by little and when it reaches the surface, it's simply impossible not to be enchanted watching all those emotions. I think if you give yourself the time to adjust to the pace of the film, you will be rewarded, I can describe this story like an old photo album.. each scene, each landscape, feels like a capture in a specific moment in time, it feels very raw, but yet so real.... It's a story that could very well be derived from real life and I'm sure many will relate to it.
Hola a todos fanáticos de la buena historia, espero que hoy se encuentren genial.. en esta ocasión les quiero compartir una nueva reseña. Esta vez les daré mi opinión sobre la conocida película Call Me By Your Name, y es que esta historia es de aquellas que realmente te transporta, tanto geográficamente como emocionalmente, a otro lugar...nunca nada se siente forzado o exageradamente dramático. Esta historia está ambientada en Italia a principios de los años 80, y es un festín para los sentidos.. una exploración muy interesante y reflexiva sobre el amor y el autodescubrimiento. No solo es una historia para nada típica, sino que conforme pasan los minutos sientes como si realmente estuvieras ahí, tumbado bajo el sol o nadando en los ríos junto a los protagonistas. Hay una cualidad atemporal en la puesta en escena del director, Luca Guadachino.. y es que la manera en la que captura de manera hermosa todos esos paisajes, haciendo que el verano italiano se sienta como un personaje más en la cinta, es realmente increíble..
Entre los aspectos más notables que puedo destacar de esta película es su sencillez, el director no se apoya en grandes gestos o técnicas narrativas complejas para tratar de empujarte y engatusarte, al contrario, solo transmite las complejidades de una relación diferente entre los protagonistas, Elio y Oliver.. permite que la historia fluya de manera orgánica, a menudo deteniéndose en momentos silenciosos y muy íntimos.. cosas que se van construyendo poco a poco y que cuando llega a la superficie, simplemente es imposible no quedarse encantado viendo todas esas emociones. Creo que si te das el tiempo necesario para adaptarte al ritmo de la película, serás recompensado, puedo describir esta historia como un viejo álbum de fotos.. cada escena, cada paisaje, se siente como una captura en un momento específico del tiempo, se siente muy crudo, pero a la vez tan real.. Es una historia que podría perfectamente derivarse a la vida real y estoy seguro de que muchos se identificarán con ello.
Obviously this movie wouldn't be the same without its incredible protagonists... specifically mentioning the incredible performance of Timothée Chalamet, who gives life to Elio. There is something simply captivating in the way this actor gives life to his character, all his curiosity and that vulnerability that appears in unexpected moments is very realistic.. it's clear that he gave his all in this role, and that's great because it facilitates the connection between the viewers with this guy's journey... Without a doubt, for those who don't know, this was the role that propelled Timothée to what he is today, it was his first big starring role... the moment when everyone turned to see him... and I think it is because of this that he has become the best actors Hollywood has today... His chemistry with his co-star, Armie, who played Oliver...is electric, adding deep layers to their relationship that they simply can't express in words alone...
Their scenes together are intense, not because of big statements, but because of what I had mentioned to you before.. the subtleties: the glances, the slight brushes and the way they avoid looking each other in the eyes.. it all feels so real. It's very good the way this film deals with themes of desire, not just exploring physical attraction, although obviously that's present as well...but these protagonists go beyond that, diving into the idea of intellectual and emotional longing...the desire to understand and be understood.
Elio and Oliver are two highly intelligent and cultured people... their connection has a lot to do with the way their minds work, as a kind of chemical connection or reaction. This nuanced portrayal of desire can be refreshingly honest, and to me it felt like it avoided a lot of the typical clichés often used in film.. which are based entirely on pure physical attraction. Instead of rushing toward a predictable climax, the story takes its time, all the emotions simmering, which makes the payoffs that much more meaningful and exciting....
Obviamente esta película no sería lo mismo sin sus increíbles protagonistas.. mencionando específicamente la increíble actuación de Timothée Chalamet, quien da vida a Elio. Hay algo simplemente cautivador en la manera en la que este actor da vida a su personaje, toda su curiosidad y esa vulnerabilidad que aparece en momentos inesperados es muy realista.. está claro que lo dio todo en este papel, y eso es genial porque facilita la conexión entre los espectadores con el viaje de este chico.. Sin duda, para los que no sepan, este fue el papel que impulsó a Timothée a lo que es hoy en día, fue su primer gran protagónico.. el momento en el que todos voltearon a verlo.. y creo que gracias a esto es que se ha convertido en los mejores actores que tiene actualmente Hollywood.. Su química con su coprotagonista, Armie, quien interpretó a Oliver.. es eléctrica, añadiendo capas profundas a su relación que simplemente ellos no pueden expresar con solo palabras..
Sus escenas juntos son intensas, no por grandes declaraciones, sino por lo que les había mencionado antes.. las sutilezas: las miradas, los leves roces y la forma en la que evitan mirarse a los ojos.. todo se siente tan real. Es muy buena la manera en la que esta película aborda los temas del deseo, no solo se explora la atracción física, aunque obviamente eso también está presente.. pero estos protagonistas van más allá, sumergiéndose en la idea del anhelo intelectual y emocional.. el deseo de entender y ser entendido.
Elio y Oliver son dos personas sumamente inteligentes y cultas.. su conexión tiene mucho que ver con la manera en la que sus mentes funcionan, como una especie de conexión o reacción química. Esta representación matizada del deseo puede resultar refrescantemente honesta, y a mí me pareció que evitó mucho los típicos clichés que a menudo se usan en la película.. que se basan enteramente en pura atracción física. En lugar de apresurarse hacia un clímax predecible, la historia se toma su tiempo, todas las emociones se cocinan a fuego lento, lo que hace que las recompensas sean mucho más significativas y emocionantes..
Continuing to talk about the technical aspects, I loved how the director uses long takes and natural light to give such beautiful scenes, with an almost dreamlike quality... it feels very realistic. The Italian landscapes are beautiful, but the way the camera holds back the small details is what makes the images so powerful, for example, the glints of sunlight on the water, or the soft rustle of leaves in the wind, the slight clink of glasses in the background, the sound of the breeze... every element works together to immerse you in this era.... Even the sound design is carefully crafted, instead of isolating the environment it really enhances it... whenever you hear every footstep on the pavement, you feel connected...every splash of water, every scream, it's those little touches that make the environment feel so real, like you are there.
This film also has its moments of introspection, the leisurely pace gives us, the viewers, the time to breathe and reflect on everything we are seeing.. there are many scenes where almost nothing seems to be happening, when the characters are simply sitting together, sharing a meal or looking at the scenery, and that's it.... It's these quiet moments that I feel are the most touching because they feel genuine, they allow you to get a glimpse into a world that is much more intimate and not riddled with unnecessary dialogue, this approach makes the emotional moments have a greater impact.. at least that happened to me.. because, truth be told, yes there are people who enjoy their time together, their company, but they don't need to be talking about anything or expressing long speeches that feel forced. On the contrary, the simple fact of coexisting in the same space and being fully happy is what this film transmits to you.
Continuando hablando de los aspectos técnicos, me encantó como el director utiliza las tomas largas y la luz natural para dar unas escenas tan hermosas, con una calidad casi de ensueño.. se siente muy realista. Los paisajes italianos son hermosos, pero la forma en la que la cámara retiene los pequeños detalles es lo que hace que las imágenes sean tan poderosas, por ejemplo, los destellos de la luz del sol en el agua, o el suave crujir de las hojas en el viento, el leve choque de los vasos al fondo, el sonido de la brisa.. todo elemento trabaja en conjunto para sumergirse en esta época.. Incluso el diseño del sonido está cuidadosamente elaborado, el lugar de aislar el entorno lo realza mucho.. siempre que escuchas cada pisada sobre el pavimento, te sientes conectado.. cada chapuzón de agua, cada grito, son esos pequeños toques lo que hacen que el entorno se sienta tan real, como si estuvieras allí.
Esta película también tiene sus momentos de introspección, el ritmo pausado da a nosotros, los espectadores, el tiempo necesario para respirar y reflexionar sobre todo lo que estamos viendo.. hay muchas escenas donde no parece estar pasando casi nada, cuando los personajes simplemente están sentados juntos, compartiendo una comida o mirando el paisaje, y ya.. Son estos momentos tranquilos los que siento que son los más conmovedores porque se sienten genuinos, te permiten dar un vistazo a un mundo mucho más íntimo y no plagado de diálogo innecesario, este enfoque hace que los momentos emocionantes tengan un mayor impacto.. al menos eso me sucedió a mí.. porque, la verdad, sí que existen personas que disfrutan su tiempo juntos, su compañía, pero no necesitan estar hablando cualquier cosa o expresando largos discursos que se sienten forzados. Al contrario, el simple hecho de coexistir en un mismo espacio y ser plenamente feliz es lo que te transmite esta película.
Another thing I liked most about this film is the way it refuses to offer easy answers... this story does not have a neat ending, nor clear resolutions.... Everything that happens in the final stretches is bittersweet, like life itself...the film doesn't take away from the complexities and contradictions that come with love, especially first loves.... It captures all the intensity and urgency of a fleeting summer romance, but also the melancholy that lingers once it all begins to end. The director respects the intelligence of the viewers, trusting them to read between the lines and catch the subtle moments in the whole narrative... if I had to give him any specific criticism, I would say that the film could have delved a little deeper into Oliver's character.... We get to see some facets of him, but he always remains a bit of a mystery, which leaves some viewers wanting to know more about him.
However, understood that kind of mystery, because it obviously could be somewhat intentional, reflecting Elio's perspective and his need to know much more about Oliver, in a way, even the things that I feel as not fully explored, add a certain charm to the dynamics of their relationship.. that idea that Elio always had something new to discover about him, I found at the same time understandable. For me, Call Me By Your Name is a pretty well rounded movie, it deserves all the accolades it has received and the awards it has won.. it is a different romance, with a very slow cooking that demands in the viewers a lot of patience.. and this could be the main reason why many dismiss it, as it is not a romance that develops fast or eloquently, but everything goes little by little, but I think if you give it a chance, you could come out very satisfied..
Its careful narrative and great performances make it an interesting journey, for anyone who is willing to learn a lot more about Italian romances, something old, well this is a great opportunity.... I give it a 9/10 rating. It's not perfect, but I would definitely watch it a couple more times, with friends or again with my partner... Otra de las cosas que más me gustaron de esta película es la forma en la que se niega a ofrecer respuestas fáciles.. esta historia no tiene un final pulcro, ni con resoluciones claras.. Todo lo que pasa en los tramos finales es agridulce, como la vida misma.. la película no quita las complejidades y contradicciones que vienen en el amor, especialmente en los primeros amores.. Captura toda la intensidad y la urgencia de un romance de verano fugaz, pero también la melancolía que permanece una vez que todo empieza a terminarse. El director respeta la inteligencia de los espectadores, confiando en que lean entre líneas y capten los momentos sutiles en toda la narrativa.. si tuviera que hacerle alguna crítica específica, diría que la película podría haber profundizado un poco más en el personaje de Oliver.. Llegamos a ver algunas facetas de él, pero siempre se mantiene un poco misterioso, lo que hace que algunos espectadores se queden con ganas de saber más de él.
Sin embargo, entendido ese tipo de misterio, debido a que obviamente podría ser algo intencional, reflejando la perspectiva de Elio y su necesidad de conocer mucho más a Oliver, de cierto modo, incluso las cosas que yo siento como no exploradas del todo, añaden cierto encanto a la dinámica de su relación.. esa idea de que siempre Elio tenía algo nuevo por descubrir de él, me pareció a la vez entendible. Para mí, Call Me By Your Name es una película bastante redonda, merece todos los elogios que ha recibido y los premios que ha ganado.. es un romance diferente, con una cocción muy lenta que demanda en los espectadores mucha paciencia.. y esto podría ser la principal razón por la que muchos la descartan, ya que no es un romance que se desarrolle rápido o de manera elocuente, sino que todo va poco a poco, pero creo que si le dan la oportunidad, podrían salir muy satisfechos..
Su narrativa cuidadosa y las actuaciones geniales hacen que sea un viaje interesante, para cualquier persona que esté dispuesto a conocer mucho más los romances italianos, algo antiguos, pues esta es una gran oportunidad.. Yo le doy una calificación de 9/10. No es perfecta, pero sin duda la vería un par de veces más, con amigos o de nuevo con mi pareja.. creo que tiene algo único que ofrecer, y aunque sea un poquito antigua, sigue teniendo mucha fuerza.. espero que les haya gustado esta reseña, nos vemos en las próximas, cuídense, chao.
