Hello, dear friends of the Movies and TV Shows community. I hope you're feeling great today... today I'm pretty excited because I'm finally going to tell you about one of my all time favorite superhero series... that's right, it's the iconic series Daredevil... and it's one of the rare gems in the superhero genre that is simply one of a kind. It really dropped me into this universe, as someone who was quite familiar with Marvel superheroes, the moment I saw this series air, it certainly made me think that it is one of the best superhero series out there and by far the best Marvel series, in my opinion, obviously. Its integrity, deep storytelling and willingness to tackle complex issues elevates it above most other generic superhero series...this story isn't just about justice, empty morality or flashy action scenes, it's a nuanced and interesting exploration of morality and what it really means to be a hero.
The noir-esque crime atmosphere sets an incredible tone from the beginning of the series and I was captivated by the way it's never afraid to push the envelope and explore much darker aspects that most Marvel properties explore... speaking a bit about the series itself, it introduces us to Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who at night becomes a vigilante or vigilante, he is the person who is in charge of guarding and protecting Hell's Kitchen. Matt is an absolutely fascinating character, mostly because of his internal struggle... he has this desire for justice, but he's also deeply committed to his faith and his personal values, which means he's constantly in conflict with himself, unlike other superheroes who can separate his hero life from his everyday life, Matt's identity as a lawyer and his role as Daredevil are deeply intertwined..
He wants to do the right thing, but he's also willing to take much more extreme measures, which gives him that morally ambiguous edge that I love... Watching him struggle with his conscience and his beliefs adds an incredible layer of emotional depth to the entire series. Matt isn't just another typical guy in a suit who wants to beat up just because, he's a pretty ordinary guy who bleeds, struggles and often suffers quite a bit, often doubting himself.. this makes him a much more human hero than other superheroes.

Espero que se encuentren genial en el día de hoy.. hoy vengo bastante emocionado porque por fin les voy a hablar sobre una de mis series favoritas de superhéroes de toda la vida.. así es, se trata de la icónica serie Daredevil.. y es que es una de las joyas raras en el género de superhéroes que simplemente son únicas. A mí me dejó realmente dentro de este universo, como alguien que estaba bastante familiarizado con los superhéroes de Marvel, al momento de ver esta serie en emisión, sin duda me hizo pensar que es de las mejores series de superhéroes que existen y por lejos la mejor serie de Marvel, en mi opinión, obviamente. Su integridad, profunda narrativa y disposición para abordar temas complejos la eleva por encima de la mayoría de las otras series de superhéroes genéricas.. esta historia no trata sólo sobre justicia, moralidad vacía o escenas de acción llamativas, sino que es una exploración matizada e interesante sobre la moralidad y lo que realmente significa ser un héroe.
La atmósfera de crimen estilo noir establece un tono increíble desde el principio de la serie y me cautivó la forma en la que no teme nunca en ir más allá y explorar aspectos mucho más oscuros que la mayoría de las propiedades de Marvel exploran.. hablando un poco de la serie en sí, nos presenta a Matt Murdock, un abogado ciego que por las noches se convierte en un vigilante o justiciero, él es la persona que se encarga de vigilar y proteger Hell's Kitchen. Matt es un personaje absolutamente fascinante, sobre todo por su lucha interna.. tiene ese deseo por la justicia, pero también está profundamente comprometido con su fe y sus valores personales, lo que significa que constantemente está en conflicto consigo mismo, a diferencia de otros superhéroes que pueden separar su vida de héroe de la diaria, la identidad de Matt como abogado y su rol como Daredevil están profundamente entrelazados..

What makes the series even better is its cast of supporting characters.... Foggy Nelson, Matt's best friend and law partner, is a great part within the story, Foggy is our protagonist's confidant and is also a force that keeps him grounded, often pulling him back from the brink when he's about to go too far. This character's unwavering loyalty is genuinely touching and his dedication to justice within the law really stands out. Then we have Karen Page, whose character arc is a roller coaster, although her role in season 2 was somewhat controversial for some fans, Karen shined brightly and was a great help to Matt in seasons 1 and 3...her evolution from secretary to investigative journalist is one of the most engaging trajectories in the series, she is not just a damsel in distress most of the time, but on the contrary she is brave and her involvement in Matt's personal and professional life gives another an interesting focus to the story.
The dynamic of these three feels very natural, their characters bringing out different aspects of each other and in Matt's case challenging his decisions a lot and leading him to try to confront his darker impulses. And just talking about these darker impulses, this series delves into a very raw crime atmosphere of difference from Marvel's other offerings, the storytelling is brilliant, combining intense action sequences with more leisurely and reflective moments, letting the tension build up within each episode, it has an almost film noir or vintage vibe to it, which is greatly enhanced by the masterful use of camera angles to intensify many fight scenes.
The whole atmosphere is super street, they put you inside these alleys.. of this crime.. they not only emphasize Daredevil's impressive fighting skills, but they try to create a sense of fear, suspense and hopelessness inside these streets.. it's always interesting to see how our protagonist has to live in the worst of his city and still try to cope with his desire to do something, to see some light.
Lo que hace que la serie sea aún mejor es su elenco de personajes secundarios.. Foggy Nelson, el mejor amigo y socio legal de Matt, es una parte genial dentro de la historia, Foggy es el confidente de nuestro protagonista y también es una fuerza que lo mantiene en el suelo, a menudo alejándolo del borde cuando está a punto de ir demasiado lejos. La lealtad inquebrantable de este personaje es genuinamente conmovedora y su dedicación por la justicia dentro de la ley resalta mucho. Luego tenemos a Karen Page, cuyo arco de personaje es una montaña rusa, aunque su papel en la temporada 2 fue algo controvertido para algunos fanáticos, Karen brilló mucho y fue de gran ayuda para Matt en las temporadas 1 y 3.. su evolución de secretaria a periodista de investigación es una de las trayectorias más atractivas de la serie, ella no es una simple damisela en apuros la mayoría del tiempo, sino que al contrario es valiente y su participación en la vida personal y profesional de Matt le da otro un enfoque interesante a la historia.
La dinámica de estos tres se siente muy natural, sus personajes sacan a relucir diferentes aspectos unos de los otros y en el caso de Matt desafían mucho sus decisiones y llevándolo a tratar de enfrentar sus impulsos más oscuros. Y justamente hablando de estos impulsos oscuros, esta serie se adentra en una atmósfera de crimen muy cruda de la diferencia de las otras ofertas de Marvel, la narrativa es brillante, combinando secuencias de acción intensas con momentos más pausados y reflexivos, dejando que la tensión se acumule dentro de cada episodio, tiene una vibra casi de cine negro o antiguo, lo cual se potencia mucho con el uso magistral de los ángulos de la cámara para intensificar muchas escenas de combate.
Todo el ambiente es súper callejero, te meten dentro de estos callejones.. de esta delincuencia.. no solo enfatizan en las impresionantes habilidades de pelea de Daredevil, sino que tratan de crear una sensación de temor, suspenso y desesperanza dentro de estas calles.. siempre es interesante ver como nuestro protagonista tiene que vivir en lo peor de su ciudad y aun así tratar de sobrellevar su deseo de hacer algo, de ver algo de luz.
Charlie Cox's performance as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, is phenomenal, and without a doubt for me is the definitive adaptation of the character on screen, so far obviously. This actor brings a vulnerability to Matt that is rare in the superhero atmosphere, making him feel more like a real person than a fictional figure, he captures all his physical and emotional pain, you can almost feel it with him, especially during brutal fight scenes.... Daredevil most of the time doesn't come out of these battles unscathed, which reflects the more vulnerable and human side this superhero has, the series doesn't simply romanticize his heroism, it shows the toll it takes on him, which I found refreshing, as we are not presented with an invincible protagonist, he is just a determined man with some strange unique abilities who is determined to make a mark and make a difference, even if that means taking hits over and over and over again.
The villains in this series are also incredibly well written, with Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin being one of the best antagonists in all of Marvel... Vincent D'Onofrio's performance as Fisk is intense, intimidating and even in some ways sympathetic. Fisk is not just a stupid evil genius, he is a deeply flawed and tragic character who truly believes he is doing the right thing... his interactions with Matt are electrifying and the tension between them leads to some of the most harrowing and tense confrontations I have seen on all of television. Fisk's manipulation of the New York justice system, his brutality and his ability to instill fear make him Matt's perfect nemesis, while he struggles to defend his values, Kingpin challenges these values at every turn, showing just how fragile the line can be to cross to get what you want by force.
La interpretación de Charlie Cox como Matt Murdock/Daredevil, es fenomenal, y sin duda para mí es la adaptación definitiva del personaje en pantalla, hasta ahora, obviamente. Este actor aporta una vulnerabilidad a Matt que es rara en la atmósfera de superhéroes, haciéndolo sentir más como una persona real que como una figura ficticia, captura todo su dolor físico y emocional, casi puedes sentirlo con él, especialmente durante las escenas de peleas brutales.. Daredevil la mayoría del tiempo no sale ileso de estas batallas, lo que refleja el lado más vulnerable y humano que tiene esta superhéroe, la serie no simplemente idealiza su heroísmo, muestra el costo que le cobra, lo cual me pareció refrescante, ya que no nos presentan a un protagonista invencible, él es solo un hombre determinado con unas extrañas habilidades únicas que está decidido a marcar y hacer una diferencia, aunque eso significa recibir golpes una y otra y otra vez.
Los villanos en esta serie también están increíblemente bien escritos, siendo Wilson Fisk alias Kingpin uno de los mejores antagonistas de todo Marvel.. la actuación de Vincent D'Onofrio como Fisk es intensa, intimidante e incluso en algunos aspectos comprensivos. Fisk no es solo un genio del mal estúpido, es un personaje profundamente defectuoso y trágico que realmente cree que está haciendo lo correcto.. sus interacciones con Matt son electrizantes y la tensión entre ellos lleva a algunos de los enfrentamientos más angustiosos y tensos que he visto en toda la televisión. La manipulación de Fisk en el sistema de justicia de Nueva York, su brutalidad y su habilidad para infundir el miedo lo convierten en el perfecto némesis de Matt, mientras él lucha por defender sus valores, Kingpin desafía estos valores a cada paso, mostrando lo frágil que puede ser la línea que hay que cruzar para obtener lo que quieres por la fuerza.
This series is not just about good guys vs. bad guys... it's about issues of faith, morality, and trying to explain or make us understand the real nature of justice. Matt's Catholic faith plays an important role in his life, and the series does not shy away from exploring this aspect...his conversations with Father Lantom are some of the most introspective and profound moments in the series, where they discuss what it really means to do justice, and whether it would ever be right to take a life. Matt's refusal to kill, despite all the violence he faces, is a recurring theme, and it is interesting to see how the series navigates this moral stance, especially when confronted with much more violent characters, for example, The Punisher, a character who has a very different view of justice....
The contrast between the ideologies of Matt and The Punisher is very noticeable, and gives rise to some of the most thoughtful scenes of the entire series, I think the integration of this character was, without a doubt, a total success, he is a character that I really loved, and I was glad to see him in his own series, much more to come... soon I will tell you about it too. But back to Daredevil, the pacing of this story strikes an almost perfect balance between action and narrative... each season feels like a standalone arc, with a clear beginning, development and ending, which is rare in today's TV landscape, the first season is a classic origin story, establishing Matt's journey, his abilities and his initial confrontations with Kingpin...
The second season delves into more ideological conflicts, especially with the introduction of characters like The Punisher or Elektra, and soon comes the third season, which is derived from a crossover series finale that I will discuss later, but to tell you about it above, it shows us a more personal and intimate story of Matt, how he faces his inner demons, and shows us a bit more of his past.. and how he has to learn to live with this past.. rethinking what is necessary to protect the ones he loves. Each season is satisfying on its own, but all together they build on each other in a very meaningful way.
En esta serie no se trata solo de buenos contra malos.. aquí se muestran temas de cuestiones de fe, moralidad, y nos intentan explicar o hacernos entender la naturaleza real de la justicia. La fe católica de Matt juega un papel importante en su vida, y la serie no evita explorar este aspecto.. sus conversaciones con el padre Lantom son algunos de los momentos más introspectivos y profundos de la serie, donde discuten qué significa realmente el hacer justicia, y si alguna vez estaría bien quitar una vida. El rechazo de Matt a matar, a pesar de toda la violencia que enfrenta, es un tema recurrente, y es interesante ver cómo la serie navega por esta postura moral, especialmente cuando se enfrenta a personajes mucho más violentos, por ejemplo, The Punisher, un personaje que tiene una visión muy diferente de la justicia..

La segunda temporada se adentra en más conflictos ideológicos, especialmente con la introducción de personajes como The Punisher o Elektra, y pronto llega la tercera temporada, que se deriva del final de una serie crossover que comentaré más adelante, pero para hablarles por encima, nos muestra una historia más personal e íntima de Matt, el cómo enfrenta a sus demonios internos, y nos muestra un poco más su pasado.. y cómo él tiene que aprender a vivir con este pasado.. replantearse lo que es necesario para proteger a los que ama. Cada temporada es satisfactoria por sí sola, pero todas juntas se construyen entre sí de una manera muy significativa.
The action sequences deserve a separate mention, because they are simply top notch... unlike most superhero productions, Daredevil keeps its fight scenes realistic and focused purely on the physical. The choreography is brutal, you can feel every punch, kick and fall, the hallway fight scenes have become iconic for a reason: they are authentic, intense and perfectly showcase the determination and resilience of a hero who wants to do the right thing, but sometimes life makes it hard for him.. in these fights there is no CGI or special effects, it's just Daredevil, his fists and pure will to keep fighting and accomplish his goals, these scenes are as much about survival as they are about skill, they highlight all the physical cost that a double life imposes..
Although this series is very much a crime drama, it doesn't stray entirely from its superheroic roots...there are moments of jokey relief and hope, especially in the internal relationships of the main characters I mentioned to you earlier. Foggy and Karen provide a necessary balance between Matt's darkness and his more “normal” life, reminding him of the good we are fighting for.. it's so cute how unconditionally supportive they are of Matt, even when they don't fully understand his decisions, I love this, these three characters are so unique.. Foggy's loyalty and Karen's determination make them more than just supporting characters, they are pivotal pieces in Matt's journey, they are aspects that need to be there.
I really liked that this series, despite being from Marvel, distinguishes itself from the UCM by focusing on its own story, it doesn't rely at all on constants from other Marvel properties or other heroes, at least not in the first instance.... This allows the series to maintain its integrity and develop its own style and tone, it is a series that respects its audience and trusts that they will appreciate a unique story without forcing unnecessary references to other heroes.
Las secuencias de acción merecen una mención aparte, porque son simplemente de primer nivel.. a diferencia de la mayoría de producciones de superhéroes, Daredevil mantiene sus escenas de pelea realistas y centradas meramente en lo físico. La coreografía es brutal, puedes sentir cada golpe, patada y caída, las escenas de pelea en pasillos se han vuelto icónicas por una razón: son auténticas, intensas y muestran perfectamente la determinación y resistencia de un héroe que quiere hacer lo justo, pero a veces la vida se lo pone difícil.. en estas peleas no hay CGI ni efectos especiales, es solo Daredevil, sus puños y pura voluntad de seguir luchando y cumplir sus metas, estas escenas tratan tanto de supervivencia como de habilidad, resaltan todo el coste físico que una doble vida impone..
Aunque esta serie sea en gran medida un drama criminal, no se aleja del todo de sus raíces superhéroicas.. hay momentos de alivio chistoso y esperanza, especialmente en las relaciones internas de los personajes principales que ya antes les mencioné. Foggy y Karen proporcionan un equilibrio necesario entre la oscuridad de Matt y su vida más "normal", recordándole el bien por el que estamos luchando.. es muy lindo el apoyo incondicional que tienen hacia Matt, incluso cuando no comprenden completamente sus decisiones, esto me encanta, estos tres personajes son tan únicos.. la lealtad de Foggy y la determinación de Karen los convierten en algo más que personajes secundarios, son piezas fundamentales en el viaje de Matt, son aspectos que tienen que estar ahí.
Me gustó mucho que esta serie, a pesar de ser de Marvel, se distingue del UCM, enfocándose en su propia historia, no depende para nada de constantes de otras propiedades de Marvel o otros héroes, al menos no en primera instancia.. Esto permite que la serie mantenga su integridad y desarrolle su propio estilo y tono, es una serie que respeta a su audiencia y confía en que apreciarán una historia única sin forzar referencias innecesarias de otros héroes.
Reflecting on the series, it's clear why Daredevil is often hailed as Marvel's best series. It's raw, smart and deeply human, with characters that feel real and flawed in a way that is rare in the superhero genre. The series has integrity and isn't afraid to ask hard questions. It's a story about faith, justice and redemption, set in a setting where the city of Hell's Kitchen often feels like just another character in the story. In the end, Daredevil isn't just a great superhero series; it's a great series, period.
It's captivating, visually stunning, and rich with themes that linger long after you're done watching it. Whether you're a Marvel fan or not, this series offers something profound, making it an unforgettable experience.My rating? A well-deserved 10/10. Daredevil sets a standard that few superhero series can match, let alone surpass. I hope you liked this series, I will bring you more Marvel/Netflix series soon, if you want to get fully into this story, I have to tell you that you need to watch the first two seasons of Daredevil, then you need to watch The Defenders, and then watch the third season of this series, to not be completely lost. Al reflexionar sobre la serie, es claro por qué Daredevil es a menudo aclamada como la mejor serie de Marvel. Es cruda, inteligente y profundamente humana, con personajes que se sienten reales y defectuosos de una manera rara en el género de superhéroes. La serie tiene integridad y no teme hacer preguntas difíciles.
