Hello everyone dear community of Movies and TV Shows in Hive, I hope you are doing great... this time I want to tell you my opinions about a very curious movie. It is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a premise quite different from what I expected... it is a movie I saw last year and I still remember it perfectly, I thought I was going to see a very cliché movie, Tarantino's style, but what I experienced was something totally different... I think it's a movie capable of connecting with you in many ways, this story follows Rick played by Leonardo DiCaprio.. who is a fading TV star, and we also meet his loyal stunt double, Cliff Booth, played by Brad Pitt.
These two navigate the changing landscape of Hollywood in the 1969's, the chemistry between these two actors is incredible, really electric...I feel like you get totally invested in this friendship early on in the film. DiCaprio perfectly captures the insecurity and vulnerability of an actor who sees his time seemingly coming to an end, while Brad Pitt brings his classic natural charm that makes you want to know so much more about him and his character's past...
One of the things I liked the most about this movie is that it doesn't pigeonhole itself into one genre... in some moments you're laughing, while in the other you're clinging to your seat during an incredibly tense scene, there are various tones running through the story... it even shows you certain shades of horror with comedy, all very diverse. I think it's great how the director's style is so infused in this work...it's very interesting to see a film that doesn't need to focus on one thing to sell, but feels quite unique...as people with different types of tastes will be able to enjoy it.
Hola a todos querida comunidad de Movies and TV Shows en Hive, espero que se encuentren de maravilla.. en esta ocasión les quiero comentar mis opiniones sobre una película bastante curiosa. Se trata de Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, una premisa bastante diferente a lo que me esperaba.. es una película que vi el año pasado y aún la recuerdo perfectamente, yo pensé que iba a ver una película muy cliché, del estilo de Tarantino, pero lo que experimenté fue algo totalmente distinto.. Creo que es una película capaz de conectar contigo de muchas formas, esta historia sigue a Rick interpretado por Leonardo DiCaprio.. el cual es una estrella de televisión en decadencia, y también conocemos a su leal doble de acción, Cliff Booth, interpretado por Brad Pitt.
Estos dos navegan en el cambiante panorama de Hollywood en los años de 1969, la química entre estos dos actores es increíble, realmente eléctrica.. siento que te quedas totalmente involucrado en esta amistad desde un principio de la película. DiCaprio captura perfectamente la inseguridad y vulnerabilidad de un actor que ve como su tiempo parece estar terminándose, mientras que Brad Pitt aporta su clásico encanto natural, que te hace querer saber mucho más sobre él y el pasado de su personaje..
Una de las cosas que más me gustaron de esta película es que no se encasilla en un solo género.. en algunos momentos te estás riendo, mientras en el otro estás aferrado a tu asiento durante una escena increíblemente tensa, hay diversos tonos que se manejan en la historia.. incluso te muestra ciertos matices de terror con comedia, todo muy diverso. Opino que es genial como está el estilo del director tan impregnado en esta obra.. es muy interesante ver una película que no necesita enfocarse en una sola cosa para poder vender, sino que se siente bastante única.. ya que personas con diferentes tipos de gustos podrán disfrutarlo.
I found the way the director captures the angels of that year somewhat mesmerizing... you can tell this is personal to him. You can feel that every choice is carefully selected from the soundtrack.. everything seems to be pulled directly from his memories, the attention to detail is amazing.. i think everything is very accurate to the TV shows recreated, everything looks very real.. it feels like one of his most sincere and intimate works to date. One of the things that really made me think was the exploration of the duality of what Hollywood is all about, on the one hand, you have a glamorous world with cool parties and spectacular opening nights.. but on the other hand, there is the struggle with irreverence and the harsh reality that fame is fleeting and can disappear at any moment.
The contrast is striking and somewhat sad...I was somewhat moved, particularly in some scenes where Tate, played by Margot Robbie sees herself in a radiant cinema, glowing...while Rick grapples with the possibility that his best days are behind him and he has no more chance to get back to what he was, is something that does make you feel things. The cinematography deserves special mention...there are some great shots. The way the camera pans across some of the cityscapes, the whole vintage style at sunrise... it's all pure cinematic magic, it's something I loved.
La manera en la que el director captura a los ángeles de ese año me pareció algo hipnotizante.. se nota que se trata de algo personal para él. Puedes sentir que cada elección está cuidadosamente seleccionada de la banda sonora.. todo parece sacado directamente de sus recuerdos, la atención al detalle es asombrosa.. creo que todo es muy preciso a los programas de televisión recreados, todo se ve muy real.. se siente como uno de sus trabajos más sinceros e íntimos hasta la fecha. Una de las cosas que realmente me hizo pensar fue la exploración de la dualidad de lo que significa Hollywood, por un lado, tienes un mundo glamuroso con fiestas geniales y noches de estrenos espectaculares.. pero por otro lado, está la lucha contra la irreverencia y la dura realidad de que la fama es efímera y puede desaparecer en cualquier momento.
El contraste es sorprendente y algo triste.. me sentí algo conmovido, particularmente en algunas escenas donde Tate, interpretada por Margot Robbie se ve a sí misma en un cine radiante, brillando.. mientras que Rick lidia con la posibilidad de que sus mejores días hayan quedado atrás y que no tenga más oportunidad para volver a ser lo que era, es algo que sí te hace sentir cosas. La cinematografía merece una mención especial.. hay algunas tomas muy buenas. La forma en la que la cámara recorre algunos paisajes urbanos, todo el estilo vintage al amanecer.. todo es pura magia cinematográfica, es algo que me encantó.
Talking a bit about Margot Robbie's character, she adds a different layer of exploration in the story... her presence serves as a constant reminder of the potential of the industry, and as I had told you, she clashes quite a bit with Rick's fear... it's something you enjoy while you're watching it. I guess if I had to mention any criticism, it would be that the film sometimes rambles too much...it's almost 3 hours long, and obviously there are moments where the film doesn't seem to have a specific direction. However, I found that these sequences often give rewarding moments...not everything has to have a specific end, or the story doesn't have to lead you to a goal to reach...so I feel it serves as a meditation on change, both personal and professional.
I think the 1960's Hollywood setting is a very good way to explore all these difficulties in the entertainment world, I found it fascinating how Tarantino managed to weave interesting themes throughout the story without ever being heavy handed...even though his signature style is present, there is maturity in this film. It feels like we're really being shown something to make us think, and not just to entertain.
Hablando un poco sobre el personaje de Margot Robbie, añade una capa de exploración diferente en la historia.. su presencia sirve como un constante recordatorio del potencial de la industria, y como les había comentado, choca bastante con el miedo de Rick.. es algo que disfrutas mientras lo estás viendo. Creo que si tuviera que mencionar alguna crítica, sería que la película a veces divaga demasiado.. son casi 3 horas de duración, y obviamente hay momentos en los que la película no parece tener un rumbo específico. Sin embargo, encontré que estas secuencias a menudo dan momentos gratificantes.. no todo tiene que tener un fin específico, o la historia no tiene que llevarte a una meta a alcanzar.. así que siento que sirve como una meditación sobre el cambio, tanto personal como profesional.
Creo que la ambientación del Hollywood de los años 60 es una muy buena manera de explorar todas estas dificultades del mundo del entretenimiento, me ha parecido fascinante cómo Tarantino logró tejer temas interesantes a lo largo de la historia sin resultar nunca pesado.. aunque su estilo característico está presente, hay madurez en esta película. Se siente como si de verdad nos estuvieran mostrando algo para hacernos pensar, y no solo para entretener.
This is a movie that had quite mixed reviews, some liked it, others didn't... I think that, although it can't be to everyone's taste, especially those who expect the usual Tarantino formula, it is one of his best works. I personally found this new perspective from this director interesting...I give it a rating of 8.5/10. While it occasionally tests your patience with its long running time and rambling narrative at certain points, the entertaining recreation of 1960's Hollywood, the outstanding performances and thoughtful exploration of fame and friendship, make it, without a doubt, a remarkable achievement...honestly, I recommend it to anyone who likes movies and wants to see something different. They should clear their schedule for a good while, unless they want to watch it in several chunks haha. But hey, I found it playful yet profound... that would be it. Esta es una película que tuvo críticas bastante mixtas, a algunos les gustó, a otros no.. creo que, si bien no puede ser del gusto de todos, especialmente aquellos que esperan la fórmula habitual de Tarantino, es uno de sus trabajos mejor logrados. A mí, personalmente, me pareció interesante esta nueva perspectiva de este director.. yo le doy una calificación de 8.5/10. Si bien ocasionalmente pone a prueba tu paciencia con su larga duración y narrativa divagante en ciertos puntos, la entretenida recreación de los Hollywood de los años 60, las actuaciones sobresalientes y la reflexiva exploración de la fama y la amistad, la convierten, sin duda, en un logro notable.. sinceramente, la recomiendo a cualquier persona que le guste el cine y quiera ver algo diferente. Deben despejar su agenda por un buen rato, a menos que quieran verla en varios pedazos jaja. Pero bueno, me pareció juguetona y a la vez profunda.. eso sería todo.
