It's a pleasure for me to start my week in Hive through Movies & TV Shows Community!!!, and is that I finally had time to relax at home and watch “new” movies with my wife, like in the old days (before December) 😬 The only thing that has changed around here is that we have changed our treats for some fruits or natural juices, and is that the goal is to lose weight in 2025, although we are still lovers of watching TV together. This weekend we watched two movies that I loved, one was Nosferatu, which we watched on Saturday, I will share my impressions about it, as today I will focus on our Sunday movie “Back In Action”.
¡Es un placer para mí iniciar mi semana en Hive a través de Movies & TV Shows Community!, y es que al fin tuve tiempo para relajarme en casa y ver películas "nuevas" con mi esposa, como en los viejos tiempos (antes de Diciembre) 😬 Lo único que ha cambiado por aquí es que hemos cambiado nuestras golosinas por algunas frutas o jugos naturales, y es que la meta es adelgazar en 2025, aunque sigamos siendo amantes de ver televisión juntos. Este fin de semana vimos dos películas que amé, una fue Nosferatu, la que vimos el Sábado, ya compartiré mis impresiones sobre ella, ya que hoy me enfocaré en nuestra película del Domingo "Back In Action".
I noticed that the movie was highly criticized a few days after its release, but that's something I can't understand. Maybe one of the main reasons is that I'm not a fan of action movies, but I loved it and it kept my attention every minute of the story. Sure, there are much better action movies than this one, but it accomplished the mission of entertaining. You can find this movie on Netflix and although it wasn't a boom on its first day, it has been slowly gaining more popularity, and how could it not when they have a great quality cast. Particularly I had pending to see it and I had years without seeing the beautiful Cameron Diaz doing a new character, and wow she met my expectations and even though she is a bit older she still looks great and very athletic.
Me he dado cuenta que la película fue muy criticada a pocos días de su estreno, pero es algo que yo no puedo entender. Quizás una de las principales razones es que no soy seguidor de las películas de acción, pero a mí me encantó y me mantuvo atento en cada minuto de la historia. Claro, hay películas de acción mucho mejor que esta, pero ha cumplido la misión de entretener. Esta película la pueden encontrar en Netflix y aunque no fue un boom en su primer día, poco a poco ha ido ganando más popularidad, y ¿Cómo no hacerlo si tienen un elenco de gran calidad?. Particularmente tenía pendiente verla y es que tenía años sin ver a la hermosa Cameron Diaz haciendo un nuevo personaje, y vaya que ella cumplió mis expectativas, jamás imaginé que su gran regreso fuera en una película de acción, y aunque ya está algo mayor sigue luciendo genial y muy atlética.
Jamie Foxx also did a great job, and is that the protagonists were spies in his youth and after accident took the opportunity to retire for 15 years, as they would form a family. Of course this is very predictable, but that's not why I can't say it's a bad movie, it's just another movie with good performances and I think that if they weren't better it's because the script doesn't allow it, but the story is not unpleasant. In my opinion, the touch of comedy was provided by the iconic actress Glenn Close, who was the person who finally convinced me that I could not miss this movie, the three main actors have a great trajectory and I love them all for some movie or character from the past. Glenn looks perfect playing her role as a modern grandmother, and I had a lot of fun with the love scenes with her young partner, a fool who seems to have a lot of luck 😅
Jamie Foxx también hizo un trabajo genial, y es que los protagonistas eran espías en su juventud y luego de accidente aprovecharon para retirarse por 15 años, ya que formarían una familia. Claro que esto es muy predecible, pero no por eso puedo decir que sea una película mala, es una película más con buenas actuaciones y creo que si no fueron mejor es porque el guion no lo permite, pero vaya que la historia no es desagradable. En mi opinión, el toque de comedia lo puso la emblemática actriz Glenn Close, quien fue la persona que terminó por convencerme que no me podía perder esta película, los tres actores principales tienen una gran trayectoria y a todos los amo por alguna película o personaje del pasado. Glenn luce perfecta haciendo su papel de abuela moderna, y me divertí mucho con las escenas de amor con su joven pareja, un tonto que parece tener mucha suerte 😅
Anyway, you won't hate this movie, but maybe you won't love it either, it still leaves an ending that leaves us in suspense that there could be a sequel, I think it will all depend on the success and approval of the public. The reviews started very badly, but I feel that many will continue to like it as they discover it. Among the reviews I have read, there is a lot of talk about the action scenes looking fake, but wow you really have to be a movie junkie to notice all that, and I actually loved the special effects, the explosions and the London sets, you can tell the budget was pretty high. The film's director is Seth Gordon, who has had several hits as well as misses in the past. Only time will tell if it will become a Netflix classic or get lost as just another one. I liked the movie, but with those actors maybe they could have come up with something more...
En fin, esta película no la vas a odiar, pero quizás tampoco llegues a amarla, aún así deja un final que nos deja el suspenso de que pueda existir una secuela, creo que todo ello dependerá del éxito y la aprobación del público. La crítica inicio muy mal, pero siento que seguirá gustando a muchos en el camino que la vayan descubriendo. Entre las críticas que he leído, se habla mucho de que las escenas de acción se ven falsas, pero vaya que realmente hay que ser muy adicto al cine para notar todo eso, y de hecho amé los efectos especiales, las explosiones y los escenarios de Londres, se nota que el presupuesto fue bastante elevado. El director de la película es Seth Gordon, quien ha tenido varios éxitos como fracasos en el pasado. Solo el tiempo dirá si se convertirá en un clásico de Netflix o se perderá como una más. Me gustó la película, pero con esos actores quizás pudieron haber logrado algo más...
