Hello movie and TV lovers! Once again I stop by to say hello and to share a new experience sponsored by Netflix. I always start my posts by saying that I'm no longer up to date with what's new in this world, but although it's still true that I watch series already finished and many old movies that I missed at the time, I can say that lately I can coincide with novelties thanks to Netflix, and for some strange reason this adult animation Carol and the end of the world captured my attention.
¡Hola amantes del cine y la televisión!. Nuevamente paso por acá a saludar y a compartir una nueva experiencia auspiciada por Netflix. Siempre comienzo los posts diciendo que ya no estoy al día con las novedades de este mundo, pero aunque sigue siendo cierto que veo series ya terminadas y muchas películas antiguas que me perdí en su momento, puedo decir que últimamente puedo coincidir con novedades gracias a Netflix, y por alguna extraña razón esta animación para adultos Carol y el fin del mundo capturó mi atención.
Unlike other of my posts I think you will find some spoilers here, because it's inevitable, the series is very strange and I'm still trying to understand everything that happened. You can find it on Netflix and it only has 10 episodes. It's about the last months of the world, as a planet is heading towards the earth to end everything and what we can see is the reaction of people to this event, but unlike other series and movies, here people do not despair, rather they relax and unite in harmony to culminate life in peace; there are also people like Carol and some of the friends she made along the way, people like me who would have a quieter wait or worse, who do not know how to react regarding an event like that 😅
A diferencia de otros de mis posts creo que sí encontrarán algunos spoilers por acá, porque es inevitable, la serie es muy extraña y sigo tratando de entender cada cosa que ocurrió. La pueden encontrar en Netflix y solo tiene 10 episodios. Trata sobre los últimos meses del mundo, ya que un planeta se dirige hacia la tierra a acabar con todo y lo que podemos ver es la reacción de las personas ante este suceso, pero a diferencia de otras series y películas, aquí las personas no se desesperan, más bien se relajan y se unen en armonía a culminar la vida en paz; también están personas como Carol y algunos de los amigos que hizo en el camino, personas como yo que tendrían una espera más tranquila o peor, que no saben cómo reaccionar respecto a un suceso como ese 😅
As the episodes go by, one begins to understand a little of Carol's strange personality, and when I say strange I mean compared to most people, because she is probably quite normal. Her parents are bizarre characters, but at the same time free of any social ties, they were naked throughout the series and a love triangle with the nurse who attended them, I think they take the prize for the most unexpected for me, but at the same time represent those people who would enjoy life to the fullest if they knew that the end of the world is near.
Mientras los episodios van transcurriendo uno va entendiendo un poco la extraña personalidad de Carol, y cuando digo extraña me refiero a comparación con la mayoría de las personas, porque posiblemente ella sea bastante normal. Sus padres son personajes bizarros, pero a la vez libres de cualquier atadura social, estuvieron desnudos toda la serie y un triángulo amoroso con el enfermero que los atendía, creo que ellos se llevan el premio a lo más inesperado para mí, pero a la vez representan a esas personas que disfrutarían la vida al máximo si supieran que el fin del mundo se acerca.
Carol started the series practically alone and friendless, she seemed sad and confused, as if she didn't know what to do with her life, but I think more than that is that with a planet approaching and threatening to destroy the earth or without it, she still never finds emotions, she is a person of neutral feelings, but she values very much when she finds people who share her way of being. Her friends and co-workers are very much like her at heart, so much so that it was hopeless and she found a way to win them over. They had a great time together, and that's me, a very, very small social circle, but I treasure those few people, the normal and at the same time abnormal people that I choose to be with me in my day to day life.
Carol comenzó la serie prácticamente sola y sin amigos, parecía triste y confundida, como si no supiera qué hacer con su vida, pero creo que más que eso es que con un planeta acercándose y amenazando destruir la tierra o sin el, ella igual nunca encuentra emociones, es una persona de sentimientos neutros, pero que valora mucho cuando encuentra a personas que comparten su manera de ser. Sus amigos y sus compañeros de trabajo son muy parecidos a ella en el fondo, tanto que era desesperante y ella encontró la manera de ganárselos. La pasaban muy bien juntos, y así soy yo, de circulo social muy, muy pequeño, pero atesoro a esas pocas personas, la gente normal y a la vez anormal que decido que me acompañen en mi día a día.
The thing is, the series is weird, weird, weird. I loved the final episode, but that doesn't mean it was a good ending. I have read good comments and people happy with the series, but there were many episodes that I didn't understand why they existed. They developed stories of people that were not relevant and finally the moment of the end of the world that gives the series its name never came. In fact it made me think many times that they were all already dead and that they were in the afterlife living out what was coming to them, punishment or happiness. Carol did a lot of things that surprised me, like the surfing part; did she really learn how to surf or did she already know how to? I do recommend people who like adult animation to watch it, but it's not for laugh out loud, it has a strange magic that made me watch all the episodes, but I never felt a climax in this story, but maybe I'm wrong and it was very hard to understand for me. I already have several days since I watched it and I'm still trying to understand many things, just like in the cover picture I shared you above 🤣.
El caso es que la serie es rara, rara, rara. El episodio final me encantó, pero no quiere decir que haya sido un buen final. He leído buenos comentarios y personas contentas con la serie, pero hubo muchos episodios que no entendí por qué existían. Desarrollaron historias de personas que no venían al caso y finalmente nunca llegó el momento del fin del mundo que le da nombre a la serie. De hecho me hizo pensar muchas veces que ya todos estaban muertos y que estaban en el más allá viviendo lo que les tocaba, castigo o felicidad. Carol hacía muchas cosas que me sorprendieron, como la parte de surf; aprendió realmente a surfear o ya sabía cómo hacerlo?. Sí recomiendo a las personas que le gusta la animación para adultos que la vean, pero no es para reírse a carcajadas, tiene una extraña magia que me hizo ver todos los episodios, pero nunca sentí un clímax en esta historia, pero quizás yo estoy equivocado y fue muy difícil de entender para mí. Ya tengo varios días desde que la vi y sigo tratando de entender muchas cosas, tal cual como en la fotografía de portada que les compartí arriba 🤣
