Hola Hivers amantes de las películas y series, es esta ocasión y así como se ha vuelto una costumbre en mi contenido, pongo bajo la lupa (sin spoilers) las producciones que se van agregando a uno de los servicios de streaming más importantes del mundo del entretenimiento. Hay películas nuevas que captan nuestra atención con solo ver el poster y quizás en complemento con el titulo, sin embargo, para gran parte del público representa un valor adicional el actor en el poster de la película, esto puede significar verla o pasar por alto una película.
Sin dudas Liam Neeson es de esos actores que siempre causa ese efecto en los espectadores que hace que elijamos una película con su nombre en el poster aunque no conozcamos absolutamente nada sobre el tráiler o la historia que nos va a narrar la producción. Debo decir que percato un estilo de simplicidad en cuanto alguno de los títulos de este famoso actor, con tan solo dos palabras en se convierte en un titulo quizás aburrido, como El Pasajero o El Protector pero saber que actuará ese icónico actor del genero de acción hace que las expectativas suban hasta el cielo.
En lo particular me agrada ver películas de este actor, me parece que dentro del genero de acción es uno de los grandes protagonizando muy buenas escenas de acción entre peleas y disparos y siempre con un poco de astucia que hace que el espectador se sorprenda más en sus interpretaciones.
El día de hoy he querido revisar una nueva película de este año 2021 con Liam Neeson de protagonista, es una producción recién agregada al catalogo de Netflix que cuenta con 108 minutos de duración que nos podrían recordar largometrajes de Clint Eastwood.
Sinopsis:
Un ranchero en el sur de Arizona decide ayudar a un pequeño niño mexicano a cruzar el país para reencontrarse con sus familiares. Un cartel estará tras sus pasos luego de que escapara de la frontera con México.
Análisis de la Película
Historia
Me parece una historia muy básica y trillada en el mundo del entretenimiento, un cartel persigue a los protagonistas para asesinarlos, la verdad desde un principio la producción no nos muestra algo novedoso que pueda sorprender al espectador, incluso podemos notar una trama lineal bastante predecible de inicio a fin. A pesar de contar con un excelente actor del genero de acción es necesario que las historias puedan ser mas significativas o complementarlo con un ritmo vertiginoso lleno de escenas de acción, sin embargo, en esta oportunidad me parece algo decepcionante debido a la simplicidad de la historia y lo lineal de la trama.
Al comienzo de la película parece que se desarrolla la historia de buena manera con algunas subtramas sobre todo por parte del protagonista, sin embargo, se van desvaneciendo al correr los minutos para centrarnos en una historia bastante simple en su narrativa. Por momentos podemos observar un poco de drama en algunas escenas, sin embargo, no es algo significativo e incluso desde mi punto de vista no hay una afinidad marcada por los personajes exceptuando quizás al protagonista.
Huida
Muchas veces queremos ver a Liam Neeson persiguiendo a los malos hasta hacerlos sufrir, sin embargo, en esta producción pasa lo contrario se vuelve una película de huida por carretera, lo que genera que el ritmo de la producción baje al igual que las emociones. En lo personal no disfruto mucho de las películas que me muestran largos viajes por carreteras, me parecen monótonas y predecibles, así que mi interés por la trama y la historia de esta película decayó en gran manera luego de observar al protagonista tomar la carretera para huir de los antagonistas.
Latinos
Normalmente este tipo de películas muestras ciertos estereotipos que quizás puedan molestar a mas de un latinoamericano, si bien la producción se basa en un problema migratorio en la frontera amurallada entre Estados Unidos y México los Latinos son reflejados en estereotipos observados en innumerables películas de Norteamérica.
Antagonistas
Los antagonistas son mexicanos y de cierta manera muestran ese estereotipo de latino salvaje y sin cerebro, incluso hay escenas en donde uno de los antagonistas parece envidiar la vida de los estadounidenses. Muestran a estos miembros de un cartel como bestias que solo saben utilizar la fuerza bruta, a pesar de que necesitan tener al menos un mínimo grado de inteligencia para seguir la ruta del protagonista perece que les falta materia gris para ser buenos villanos. Desde mi perspectiva he visto pocos villanos latinos con inteligencia y estrategia en lugar de esa apariencia sucia y desordenada que nos propone gran parte de las películas, un salvajismo muy marcado que quizás impacta al ojo critico de algunos habitantes de estas tierras.
Escenas de Acción
Hay varias escenas de acción en esta película, sin embargo, no tienen la calidad que esperaríamos para una película de acción de Neeson, me parecen escasas para complementar un guion básico y una historia línea. Siempre he estado de acuerdo en que los productores utilicen muchas escenas de acción, violencia y disparos ante la falta de argumento en la trama, sin embargo, las escenas de acción en este caso no son suficientes y tampoco de una calidad sobresaliente para sorprender o impactar al espectador.

Creo que es una película que decepciona debido a la alta expectativa que genera el actor Liam Neeson en el poster, pensar que esta producción será igual que otra de sus memorables producciones es un error que ciertamente tiende a decepcionar mucho antes de que termine la película. Esperaba mas acción y escenas que fueran impresionantes, astucia para combatir a los enemigos, que si bien podemos ver que utiliza algo de estrategia, los antagonistas parecen un saco de inútiles caracterizados solamente por su salvajismo.
Creo que el aspecto mas negativo es esa historia que tiende a ser aburrida al transcurrir los minutos que en conjunto a la falta de acción o sorpresas hacen que sea una producción un poco insípida, todo sumado a que se comienza a reproducir la película con altas expectativas sobre todo en cuanto a la acción.
¿La Recomiendo?
No creo ser capaz de recomendar abiertamente esta producción, aunque aparezca un icono de la acción en el poster puede ser que al final de cuentas terminemos decepcionados debido a las altas expectativas que genera el protagonista. Pienso que no todas la producciones que se agregan a la plataforma de Netflix son buenas y así mismo ocurre con los protagonistas, actores de gran renombre en la industria protagonizan películas insípidas y con falta de creatividad.
Por otro lado debo recalcar que somos individuos distintos y únicos, así que si al lector le interesa ver esta película no soy quien para decir si le será de agrado o no, sin embargo, les otorgo mi opinión personal plasmado en cada reseña tratando de ser objetivo en cuanto a la crítica.
Espero me sigan acompañando para observar cuidadosamente esas producciones que se van agregando a Netflix y a otros servicios de streaming, en lo particular espero conseguirme con un mayor numero de producciones interesantes que decepcionantes.

I must say that I notice a style of simplicity when it comes to some of the titles of this famous actor, with just two words in it becomes a title perhaps boring, like The Passenger or The Protector but knowing that this iconic actor of the action genre will be acting makes the expectations rise to the sky.
In particular I like to see films of this actor, it seems to me that within the action genre is one of the great starring very good action scenes between fights and shootings and always with a bit of cunning that makes the viewer more surprised in their interpretations.

Film Analysis
Story.
It seems to me a very basic and trite story in the world of entertainment, a cartel pursues the protagonists to kill them, the truth from the beginning the production does not show us something new that can surprise the viewer, we can even notice a fairly predictable linear plot from start to finish. Despite having an excellent actor in the action genre, it is necessary that the stories can be more meaningful or complement it with a dizzying pace full of action scenes, however, this time I find it somewhat disappointing due to the simplicity of the story and the linear plot.
At the beginning of the film it seems that the story develops in a good way with some subplots especially by the protagonist, however, they fade away as the minutes go by to focus on a fairly simple story in its narrative. At times we can observe a bit of drama in some scenes, however, it is not something significant and even from my point of view there is no marked affinity for the characters except perhaps the protagonist.
Runaway
Many times we want to see Liam Neeson chasing the bad guys to make them suffer, however, in this production the opposite happens, it becomes a film of escape by road, which generates that the pace of the production drops as well as the emotions. Personally I do not enjoy movies that show me long road trips, I find them monotonous and predictable, so my interest in the plot and story of this film declined greatly after watching the protagonist take the road to escape from the antagonists.
Latinos
Normally this type of film shows certain stereotypes that may bother more than one Latin American, although the production is based on a migration problem in the walled border between the United States and Mexico, Latinos are reflected in stereotypes seen in countless films in North America.
Antagonists
The antagonists are Mexicans and in a way show the stereotype of the savage and brainless Latino, there are even scenes where one of the antagonists seems to envy the life of Americans. They show these cartel members as beasts that only know how to use brute force, even though they need to have at least a minimum degree of intelligence to follow the path of the protagonist they seem to lack the gray matter to be good villains. From my perspective I have seen few Latino villains with intelligence and strategy instead of that dirty and messy appearance that proposes us much of the films, a very marked savagery that perhaps impacts the critical eye of some inhabitants of these lands.
Action Scenes
There are several action scenes in this movie, however, they are not of the quality we would expect for a Neeson action movie, I find them lacking to complement a basic script and story line. I have always agreed that producers use a lot of action scenes, violence and gunfire in the absence of plot, however, the action scenes in this case are not enough and not of an outstanding quality to surprise or shock the viewer.

Final Opinion.
I think this is a movie that disappoints due to the high expectation generated by the actor Liam Neeson in the poster, thinking that this production will be the same as another of his memorable productions is a mistake that certainly tends to disappoint long before the end of the film. I was expecting more action and scenes that were impressive, cunning to fight the enemies, that although we can see that it uses some strategy, the antagonists seem a bag of useless characterized only by their savagery.
I think the most negative aspect is that story that tends to be boring as the minutes go by that together with the lack of action or surprises make it a somewhat bland production, all added to the fact that you start playing the film with high expectations especially in terms of action.
Do I recommend it?
I don't think I would be able to openly recommend this production, even if an action icon appears on the poster we might end up disappointed at the end of the day due to the high expectations generated by the main character. I think that not all productions that are added to the Netflix platform are good and the same happens with the protagonists, actors of great renown in the industry star in bland films and lack of creativity.
On the other hand I must emphasize that we are different and unique individuals, so if the reader is interested in seeing this movie I am not the one to say if it will be to his liking or not, however, I grant you my personal opinion embodied in each review trying to be objective in terms of criticism.
