Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros archimagos del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, ha pasado un tiempo desde que vi una película animada producida por mi casa animadora favorita (Obviamente hablo de Studio Ghibli) es por ello que cuando me topé con el filme “Gedo Senki” no pude resistirme debido a que prometía ser una aventura medieval con toques de fantasía y magia que no podía dejar pasar. Sin más que agregar prepárense para valorar la vida pues estamos por comenzar.

Es una animación de aventura y fantasía, la historia se desarrolla en el reino de Terramar sitio en el cual se encuentran sucediendo un sin número de desastres y calamidades que van desde un sinfín de pestes hasta el hecho de ver un enfrentamiento entre dragones, siendo que estos últimos se supone que no deben dejarse ver ni interactuar de ninguna forma con el mundo de los humanos. Todo lo anterior se complica terriblemente cuando el rey es asesinado fríamente en su propio castillo, un archimago llamado Gavilán se embarca en un viaje para descubrir que está causando un desbalance en el mundo tan grande, durante este, se topa con un joven llamado Arren el cual se encuentra luchando con los fantasmas de su pasado, razón por la que el hombre le ofrece que lo acompañe a fin de embarcarse en una aventura para saber por qué tantas desgracias están azotando al reino.

La animación es bastante agradable, resulta bastante detallada en sus escenarios y se nota una evidente preocupación por la fluidez de todos los movimientos, algo que siempre me gusta mencionar es la habilidad y facilidad que tiene Ghibli a la hora de representar texturas de una forma tan sublime, este filme es un deleite visual con todas las de la ley.

La banda sonora no es tan entrañable, con lo anterior no quiero decir que no sea agradable o que no acompañe de buena forma a los diferentes momentos del filme, no obstante, no tiene esa personalidad y trascendencia que eleve los diversos momentos que tiene la cinta, algo que no es un error garrafal pero si desentona si se compara con otras producciones del estudio.

La construcción del mundo está bien lograda, lo anterior se debe a que de cara a su ambientación se puede apreciar un declive social palpable con múltiples sitios abandonados y/o en la ruina, siendo esto último lo que refuerza la premisa del filme con respecto a las desgracias que están siendo ocasionadas por un desequilibrio en las fuerzas naturales, esto deja que mediante el contexto quede muy bien representada dichas calamidades. A nivel social se pueden ver algunos vestigios de como esta se encuentra atravesando en cierta medida cierta crisis moral, esto último no se evidencia de una forma tan clara debido a que no se explora en gran medida a la misma; algo similar sucede con la magia y demás elementos de fantasía que alberga el filme, siendo ambos piezas fundamentales para poder entender de buena forma la trama es bastante lamentable que no tenga mayor profundidad.

The narrative is interesting to a certain extent, the fact that it focuses on something as philosophical as the value of life and the fear of death is quite daring, however, it is a topic that rather than being treated as something that incite debate feels more like something preachy, although it is a great theme to develop the plot, it fails to be worked on in a good way so it ends up losing relevance. The length is fine, the only thing that could be objected to is the fact that it does not invest enough time in interesting topics such as magic, its prohibitions, how its use affects nature, among others, elements that the film itself He makes it clear that they are very important to his world but that they are never detailed in any way.
La trama se siente desordenada, lo anterior se debe a que no existe un rumbo claro de la misma y en más de una ocasión se hace avanzar la misma de una forma que se siente un tanto forzada, a su vez, muchos conceptos y elementos importantes para entender la premisa son explicados de forma rústica y ambigua lo que hace que algunos de sus elementos no sean claros. La narrativa es interesante hasta cierto punto, el hecho de que tenga como enfoque algo tan filosófico como lo es el valor de la vida y el temor a la muerte es bastante osado, no obstante, es un tema que más que ser tratado como algo que incite al debate se siente más como algo sermonero, si bien es un gran tema para desarrollar la trama peca de no ser trabajado de buena forma por lo que termina perdiendo relevancia. La duración está bien, lo único que se podría objetar es el hecho de que no invierte el tiempo suficiente en temas interés tales como la magia, las prohibiciones de esta, como afecta su uso a la naturaleza, entre otros, elementos que el propio filme deja claro que son importantísimos para su mundo pero que nunca se detallan de ninguna forma.

At the same time, the problems he has are never detailed so his struggle feels like something in the background; On the other hand, Sparrowhawk is a waste, he is supposed to serve as the protagonist's mentor and even an example to follow, however, in both aspects the character falters because he has few moments that really make him stand out as said figure, the rest of the characters are completely forgettable and their presence is quite unnecessary on more than one occasion. Finally, we come to the villain, he is without a doubt the most bland I have ever seen from this creative house, to begin with his own plan is quite generic and boring which leaves him as someone extremely basic, on the other hand, he completely lacks presence or of some element that makes him feel moderately frightening in one way or another, is simply nonsense and a disgrace as a villain.
Los personajes son en general decepcionantes y es algo doloroso viniendo de Ghibli, vamos por partes, Arren debe embarcarse en un viaje de autosuperación y de perdón a sí mismo a fin de poder dejar ir los fantasmas del pasado que le atormentan, el problema es que todo esto ocurre de forma muy forzada y la catarsis del personaje se siente artificial, a su vez, los problemas que este tienen nunca son detallados por lo que su lucha se siente como algo de segundo plano; por otro lado, Gavilán es un desperdicio, se supone que este debería fungir como mentor del protagonista e incluso un ejemplo a seguir, sin embargo, en ambos aspectos el personaje flaquea debido a que tiene pocos momentos que realmente lo hagan destacar como dicha figura, el resto de personajes son completamente olvidables y su presencia es bastante innecesaria en más de una ocasión. Finalmente, llegamos al villano, es sin lugar a dudas el más soso que haya visto de esta casa creadora, para empezar su propio plan es bastante genérico y aburrido lo que de plano lo deja como alguien sumamente básico, por otro lado, carece completamente de presencia o de algún elemento que lo haga sentir medianamente atemorizante de una u otra forma, es sencillamente un despropósito y una desgracia como villano.

Gedo Senki se siente como algo con potencial que no se supo organizar de buena forma a fin de llegar a explotar todo el potencial que poseía, su mayor pecado radica en no desarrollar de buena forma elementos que son fundamentales para poder hacer comprensible su propia trama, a su vez, el hecho de no presentar una verdadera amenaza a la humanidad como tal tan bien le resta ese sentido de urgencia que se supone que alberga. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2.5 estrellas de 7, tiene un lindo mensaje sobre la necesidad de valorar la vida y demás aunque siendo sincero se siente como algo bastante genérico, desgraciadamente era algo que tenía mucho potencial y que fue desperdiciado completamente.
