Bueno Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom es la última película del DCEU y no puedo creer que todo termine así después de diez años de películas que nos emocionaron y otras que nos decepcionaron completamente, pues Warner Brothers decidió cerrar este universo sin ninguna despedida épica simplemente con un ya terminamos, ahora sigamos con otra cosa jajajaa no es broma literalmente se sintió así, pero bueno si te gustó la primera película de Aquaman probablemente vas a disfrutar esta también, aunque tiene sus problemas y no es perfecta para nada, pero cumple con ser entretenida y eso ya es algo en estos tiempos donde las películas de superhéroes están siendo criticadas por todos lados.
La película comienza donde terminó la anterior, Arthur ahora es rey de Atlantis y también es papá, lo cual da algo nuevo a su personaje aunque no la explotan tanto como podrían, mientras tanto Black Manta regresa buscando venganza y esta vez encuentra un tridente negro que lo hace aún más poderoso pero también más loco. Lo que me gustó mucho es la relación entre Arthur y su hermano Orm porque Patrick Wilson realmente se luce en este papel, tienen mucha química y creo que esto es lo mejor de la película, parece como si fueran dos compañeros policías pero en realidad son superhéroes acuáticos, se podría comparar un poco con Thor Ragnarok por la dinámica entre hermanos pero de buena manera, esto fue algo que me gustó. El tema del cambio climático está muy presente en la película, tal vez demasiado diría yo porque lo mencionan cada cinco minutos y aunque es un tema importante me pareció un poco forzado la forma en que lo meten a la historia, pero bueno al menos están tratando de decir algo relevante aunque sea de manera muy obvia.
La parte visual de la película es buena en algunos momentos pero en otros se nota mucho el CGI barato no sé si esto se deba a todas las refilmaciones que tuvieron que hacer, lo que no puedo negar es quie James Wan sigue siendo muy bueno para dirigir escenas de acción y las peleas entre Aquaman y Black Manta son buenísimas, sobretodo una que pasa como a la mitad de la película que está como así super estructurada no encuentro la palabra parece una coreografía, lo malo es que hay demasiadas escenas que dependen completamente de efectos digitales y algunas se ven realmente mal, como si fueran esas comiquitas que yo veía en la tele cuando estaba pequeña. Entre los actores están Amber Heard aparece mucho menos de lo que esperaba y esto no me molestó porque la verdad esta mujer no me cae muy bien, aparece cada media hora como si fuera un cameo sorpresa y aunque se nota que trataron de minimizar su presencia la verdad es que no afecta tanto la historia como pensé que lo haría. Nicole Kidman tampoco aparece mucho pero cuando aparece se roba la escena por completo y Randall Park es muy divertido en su papel, le dan mucho más que hacer que en la primera película y aprovecha cada momento.
Lo que no me gustó de esta película es que Jason Momoa parece estar interpretándose a sí mismo en lugar de a Aquaman y es demasiado exagerado diciendo a cada rato wooo y actua como si fuera un tipo de estos de fraternidad de una universidad y aunque entiendo que esa es su personalidad es como demasiado, hay momentos donde la película trata de ser seria en partes como cuando su familia está en peligro pero luego regresa con estas bromas que parecen gafas y eso hace que se pierda el impacto emocional. Ya de por sí la historia es bastante simple y predecible y trata sobre el típico malo que busca venganza y encuentra un artefacto poderoso que lo corrompe, nada que no hayamos visto antes en otras películas de superhéroes, pero al menos está bien ejecutada y mantiene el ritmo durante la mayor parte del tiempo auqnue el final si es un poco rápido y conveniente, me pareció como que si trataron de resolver todo rápidamente para no pasarse del tiempo de duración que querían. La escena postcréditos es solo una broma que hace referencia a algo que pasó antes en la película nada que valga la pena quedarse a ver.
Al final Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom es una película que sólo entretiene y no va más allá de eso, tiene buenas escenas de acción, la parte de la relación entre los hermanos también es buena y Patrick Wilson se la comió en el personaje pero no le doy más de 6/10 a esta película porque es demasiado evidente el uso del CGI, la historia es simple y aunque me gusta mucho Jason Momoa debo decir que en esta película fue un total fastidio por no decir otra cosa. Si me lo preguntas como despedida del DCEU no es la mejor opción porque la película ni siquiera reconoce que es el final de una era simplemente es otra aventura de Aquaman sin ningún tipo de cierre especial, aunque después de un año lleno de películas de superhéroes mediocres con que esta fuera entretenida creo ya es suficiente, si eres fan del primer Aquaman vas a pasar un buen rato viéndola.

Well Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the last movie of the DCEU and I can't believe it all ends like this after ten years of movies that thrilled us and others that completely disappointed us, Warner Brothers decided to close this universe without any epic farewell just with a we're done, now let's move on to something else hahaha no kidding it literally felt like that, but well if you liked the first Aquaman movie you will probably enjoy this one too, although it has its problems and it's not perfect at all, but it is entertaining and that's something in these times where superhero movies are being criticized from all sides.
The movie starts where the previous one ended, Arthur is now king of Atlantis and is also a dad, which gives something new to his character although they don't exploit it as much as they could, meanwhile Black Manta comes back looking for revenge and this time he finds a black trident that makes him even more powerful but also crazier. What I really liked is the relationship between Arthur and his brother Orm because Patrick Wilson really shines in this role, they have a lot of chemistry and I think this is the best thing about the movie, it seems like they are two cop buddies but in reality they are aquatic superheroes, it could be compared a bit to Thor Ragnarok because of the dynamic between brothers but in a good way, this was something I liked. The climate change theme is very present in the movie, maybe too much I would say because they mention it every five minutes and although it is an important theme I found it a little forced the way they put it into the story, but well at least they are trying to say something relevant even if it is in a very obvious way.
The visual part of the movie is good in some moments but in others the cheap CGI is very noticeable, I don't know if this is due to all the refilming they had to do, what I can't deny is that James Wan is still very good at directing action scenes and the fights between Aquaman and Black Manta are great, especially one that happens about halfway through the movie that is like this super structured I can't find the word it looks like a choreography, the bad thing is that there are too many scenes that rely entirely on digital effects and some look really bad, as if they were those cartoons that I saw on TV when I was little. Among the actors are Amber Heard appears much less than I expected and this didn't bother me because I don't really like this woman, she appears every half hour as if it was a surprise cameo and although you can tell they tried to minimize her presence the truth is that it doesn't affect the story as much as I thought it would. Nicole Kidman doesn't appear much either but when she does she completely steals the scene and Randall Park is very funny in his role, he is given a lot more to do than in the first movie and he makes the most of every moment.
What I didn't like about this movie is that Jason Momoa seems to be playing himself instead of Aquaman and he's too over the top saying wooo all the time and acts like he's one of these college frat guys and while I understand that's his personality it's like too much, there are moments where the movie tries to be serious in parts like when his family is in danger but then he comes back with these jokes that look like glasses and that takes away the emotional impact. Already the story is pretty simple and predictable and is about the typical bad guy who seeks revenge and finds a powerful artifact that corrupts him, nothing we haven't seen before in other superhero movies, but at least it is well executed and keeps the pace for most of the time auqnue the ending if a bit fast and convenient, it seemed to me like if they tried to solve everything quickly to not go over the running time they wanted. The post-credits scene is just a joke that references something that happened earlier in the movie, nothing worth sticking around to see.
In the end Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is a movie that just entertains and doesn't go beyond that, it has good action scenes, the part of the relationship between the brothers is also good and Patrick Wilson ate it in character but I don't give this movie more than 6/10 because it's too evident the use of CGI, the story is simple and even though I really like Jason Momoa I must say that in this movie he was a total bummer to say the least. If you ask me as a farewell to the DCEU it's not the best choice because the movie doesn't even acknowledge that it's the end of an era it's just another Aquaman adventure without any special closure, although after a year full of mediocre superhero movies with this one being entertaining I think it's enough, if you're a fan of the first Aquaman you're going to have a good time watching it.
