Well, as everything requires a ✨context✨ I tell you that my mom got sick of the viral that is giving in almost the whole country.
As I almost always do in these cases I grabbed my doggy blessing and went to my mom's house. As my routine changes there, I had time to watch this series with my mom (and work at night but what else can you do 🤷🏻♀️).
This series is in the top 10 most watched series in Korea and the world, and deals with a topic that has been trending for quite some time, bullying and school bullying.
Pues bueno, como todo requiere un ✨contexto✨ les cuento que mi mamá se enfermó de la viral que está dando en casi todo el país.
Cómo casi siempre hago en estos casos agarre con mi bendición perruna y me fui a casa de mi mamá. Cómo allá mi rutina cambia, tuve tiempo para ver esta serie con mi mamá (y trabajar de noche pero que más se hace 🤷🏻♀️)
Esta serie está dentro del top 10 de series más vistas de Corea y el mundo, y trata un tema que ha estado en tendencia desde hace bastante tiempo, el bullying y acoso escolar.

The story revolves around Moon Dong-eun, a normal high school student who had a traumatic adolescence because of a group of 5 bullies, who tortured her in sadistic ways for the simple pleasure of knowing they were untouchable and with the power to do whatever they wanted, treating people worse than objects.
Feeling hurt in the deepest part of her being, this brave woman went ahead with only one goal in mind, revenge.
On her way she will meet a young doctor, heir to a prestigious hospital, who will help her in her mission, while dealing with her own thirst for justice.
La historia gira en torno a Moon Dong-eun, una estudiante normal de liceo quien tuvo una adolescencia traumática por culpa de un grupo de 5 acosadores, quienes la torturaron de formas sádicas por el simple placer de saberse intocables y con el poder de hacer lo que les viniera en gana, tratando a las personas peor que a objetos.
Sintiéndose herida en lo más profundo de su ser, está valiente mujer salió adelante con un único objetivo en mente, la venganza.
En su camino se encontrará con un joven doctor, heredero de un prestigioso hospital, quién la ayudará en su misión, mientras lidia con su propia sed de justicia.

That's the synopsis, but here goes my opinion which is what makes ✨interesting ✨ a review. For me it's a 9-10 series because despite being very well written and structured it has some details that in my opinion it lacked to exploit.
For starters, I would have liked more scenes of Dong-eun's adolescence and the bullying she suffered. And you will say "girl you are sadistic" but for me they were insufficient (even though there were murder scenes).
I must also say that in many ways the story is a little slow, although that does not take away how good it is, but at times I felt that it did not advance the facts that I wanted to see.
The last negative point is the suffering for no reason. I don't know why Asians in general like unjustified suffering, there are scenes they put in just to make the viewer suffer and in this one particularly it felt like "Girl don't do this to me please, it doesn't make sense."
Esa es la sinopsis, pero aquí les va mi opinión que es lo que hace ✨interesante ✨ una reseña. Para mí es una serie 9-10 porque a pesar de estar muy bien escrita y estructurada tiene algunos detalles que a mí parecer le faltaron explotar.
Para empezar, me hubiese gustado que hubieran más escenas de la adolescencia de Dong-eun y el acoso que sufrió. Y ustedes dirán "muchacha tu si eres sádica" pero es que para mí fueron insuficientes (a pesar de que hubo escenas de asesinato).
También debo decir que en muchos sentidos la historia es un poco lenta, aunque eso no le quita lo buena que es, pero por momentos sentía que no avanzaba en los hechos que yo quería ver.
El último punto negativo es el sufrimiento sin motivos. No se porque a los asiáticos en general les gusta el sufrimiento injustificado, hay escenas que ponen solo para hacer sufrir al espectador y en esta particularmente se sintió como "Chama no me hagas esto porfavor, no tiene sentido"

Now let's move on to the ✨points in favor✨ first of all 🔥The revenge🔥 simply great. Our protagonist's plan shows us that calm, planning and perseverance get you where you want to go. Her pieces fell carefully and after certain events everything was like domino pieces falling one after another.
Secondly, the character building is superbly done. For my mom, who is a psychologist, it was a good exercise in recognizing the types of dark personalities the characters have and how well crafted they are.
Thirdly, of course, there are the issues they bring to the table. Bullying, abuse of power, corruption, deception, false belief in God, determination, mental illness and even domestic abuse.
All these issues were placed in visible places for the viewer to initiate the debate with himself and with those around him, to remind us that these things happen around us without us giving them the importance they deserve.
Ahora pasemos a los ✨puntos a favor✨ en primer lugar 🔥La venganza🔥 sencillamente genial. El plan de nuestra protagonista nos demuestra que la calma, la planificación y perseverancia te llevan a dónde quieras. Sus piezas cayeron cuidadosamente y luego de ciertos eventos todo fue como piezas de dominó cayendo una tras otra.
En segundo lugar, la construcción de personajes está magníficamente lograda. Para mi mamá, quién es psicóloga, fue un buen ejercicio de reconocer los tipos de personalidades oscuras que tienen los personajes y lo bien trabajados que están.
En tercer lugar, está por supuesto, los temas que ponen sobre la mesa. El acoso, el abuso de poder, la corrupción, el engaño, la falsa creencia en Dios, la determinación, las enfermedades mentales y hasta el abuso doméstico.
Todos estos temas fueron puestos en lugares visibles para que el espectador inicie el debate consigo mismo y con quienes están a su alrededor, para recordarnos que estas cosas pasan a nuestro alrededor sin que les demos la importancia que merecen.

Finally I want to tell you that this series made me reflect. A while ago I wrote a post venting about how unfair life was to reward my stalkers with lives taken from instagram, but then I made a final reflection thanking them, because thanks to their mistreatment I shaped a brilliant personality.
Watching this series, I got to thinking about how many victims of Bullying had it worse than me and didn't have enough resilience to put that behind them. How many people carry an eternal (or physical) wound that will not heal no matter how much therapy they take.
And I also got to thinking about the meaning of the word that gives the series its name "Gloria". Those who suffer bullying are not looking to "win something" by making their bullies apologize, they are looking to RECEIVE their own dignity, their personal glory.
Finalmente quiero decirles que está serie me hizo reflexionar. Hace un tiempo escribí un post desahogándome sobre lo injusto que era la vida al premiar a mis acosadoras con vidas sacadas de instagram, pero luego hice una reflexión final dándoles las gracias, pues gracias a su maltrato le di forma a una personalidad brillante.
Viendo esta serie, me puse a pensar en cuántas víctimas de Bullying lo pasaron peor que yo y no tuvieron la resiliencia suficiente para dejar eso atrás. Cuántas personas llevan una herida eterna (o física) que no sanará por más terapia que tomen.
Y también me puse a pensar en el significado de la palabra que da nombre a la serie "Gloria". Quienes sufren bullying no buscan "ganar algo" haciendo que sus acosadores se disculpen, buscan Recuperar su propia dignidad, su gloria personal.

There is one scene in particular from this series that left me speechless and thinking for quite a while. Dong-eun told one of her accomplices that she didn't like to laugh, as laughter took her away from her goal, revenge.
How important laughter is in our lives. Laughter is a balm that bathes our discomfort and motivates us to seek happiness, keeping us away from dark and sad feelings, opening the door to that magical tool called ✨Resilience✨.
Finally, I can't leave without telling you that the supporting actress steals the show. Her own story of revenge gives us emotion and a huge satisfaction at the end of the series, so if you still haven't decided, I invite you to give her a chance just to watch Kang Hyeon-nam's story, I promise you won't regret it.
Hay una escena en especial de esta serie que me dejó sin palabras y pensando un buen rato. Dong-eun le dijo a una de sus cómplices que a ella no le gustaba reírse, pues la risa la alejaba de su objetivo, la venganza.
Que importante es la risa en nuestras vidas. La risa es un bálsamo que baña nuestro malestar y nos motiva a buscar la felicidad, alejándonos de los sentimientos oscuros y tristes, abriéndonos la puerta a esa herramienta mágica llamada ✨Resiliencia✨
Para terminar no me puedo ir sin comentarles que la actriz secundaria se roba el show. Su propia historia de venganza nos da emoción y una satisfacción enorme al final de la serie, así que si todavía no te decides, te invito a que le des una oportunidad solo para ver la historia de Kang Hyeon-nam, te prometo que no te arrepentirás.

Well that has been all my Review about this great series that is being the central topic of debate in Korea. And if you are still not convinced (is that you really have to watch it) I'll just say that the story of abuse of the protagonist is inspired by a true story 😰 (you didn't expect that one 😂).

Bueno esa ha sido toda mi Review sobre ésta genial serie que está siendo el tema central del debate en Corea. Y si aún no están convencidos (es que de verdad tienen que verla) solo diré que la historia de abuso de la protagonista está inspirada en una historia real 😰 (esa no se la esperaban 😂)
