I'm not the biggest fan of high school shows, but the last two high school Kdramas I watched, All Of Us Are Dead and Weak Hero Class 1, got my appetite whetted about highschool shows. I knew I would be seeing any other one whenever an opportunity presents itself.
And that is it... That's how I got to add this Kdrama, Revenge Of Others, to my watchlist.
When I saw that 12 episodes were assigned to this show, I considered it a nice choice, but after watching the opening sequence in the show, I immediately wished they pushed it down to 16 episodes... Or more. The opening sequence was really good and the pace was thrilling. Also, the camera angle is top-notch.
Well, now that I've painstakingly managed to watch this Kdrama to the end, I genuinely think that 8 episodes would have been perfect for this. Anything beyond that was unnecessary. It only made the storyline loose and created unnecessary misdirection to the central plot of the show. The deed has been done and we can't do anything about it.
The inconsistency in the storyline and the writer's attempt to give every little character a backstory affected the free flow of the thrill in the show. At some point, it felt like the major characters were begging for screen time. I don't think we got enough of them in the show.
You will get a moment of brilliance that will whet your appetite, followed by two moments that will make you question the whole essence of the show.
That's a good way to summarize everything that this show entails. The synopsis was quite captivating;
...A young lad falls to his death in school and his case was closed as a Suicide case. His twin sister who is in Busan thinks otherwise and decides to transfer to his brother's school and use the opportunity to investigate the case...
Sounds thrilling, right?
It wasn't a bad show. I enjoyed the storyline of the young lad who momentary plays 'Vigilante/Hero' by secretly punishing bullies in the school. His side of the story was captivating. Another interesting part of the show is the hunt for the main killer.
The villainous characters were quite annoying and I consider that a job well done by the actors. It shows they got it right in their role.
Well, this show still got a really good rating from netizens and I think some people enjoyed every part of me, but I'm not one of those.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma
