Existe una película en el mundo que no importa cuantas veces la vea me es imposible dejar de verla una y otra vez, nunca me aburre y siempre la encuentro entretenida sin importar el momento en que la esté viendo, la película en cuestión es Ni Idea, justo hace unos días la volví a repetir y caí en cuenta que nunca he hablado de ella por aquí, así que el día de hoy hablaremos sobre ella, mi película favorita 💕.
There is a movie in the world that no matter how many times I see it is impossible for me to stop watching it again and again, it never bores me and I always find it entertaining no matter when I'm watching it, the movie in question is Clueless, just a few days ago I rewatched it again and I realized that I have never talked about it here, so today we will talk about it, my favourite movie 💕.
Estrenada en el año 1995, esta película fue escrita y dirigida por Amy Heckerling y está basada en la novela de Jane Austen, Emma, siendo así una versión moderna de la misma. La historia cuanta la vida de Cherilyn “Cher” Horowitz protagonizada por Alicia Silvestone, quien es una adolescente de la clase económica alta de California que vive con su padre, un prestigioso abogado de la ciudad, y su hermanastro Josh Lucas (Paul Rudd). Cher junto a su amiga Dionne Davenport (Stacey Dash) son las chicas más populares de su instituto, sin embargo la razón de esta popularidad no es la típica mostrada hoy en día en las teen movies, ellas son populares debido a sus personalidades carismáticas y elocuentes, además de por ser de las más ricas del instituto, y es que en términos generales de allí parte la trama de la películas, de los conflictos y relaciones sociales de los jóvenes de clase alta de esta secundaria.
Released in 1995, this film was written and directed by Amy Heckerling and is based on Jane Austen's novel, Emma, and is a modern version of it. The story follows the life of Cherilyn "Cher" Horowitz starring Alicia Silvestone, who is an upper-class California teenager living with her father, a prestigious California lawyer, and her stepbrother Josh Lucas (Paul Rudd). Cher along with her friend Dionne Davenport (Stacey Dash) are the most popular girls in their high school, however the reason for this popularity is not the typical one shown today in teen movies, they are popular because of their charismatic and eloquent personalities, besides being the richest of the high school, and is that in general terms from there the plot of the films, of the conflicts and social relations of the young upper class of this high school.
Esta película fue un total éxito de taquilla en su época y en la actualidad sigue siendo querida y recordada por muchos, de hecho se convirtió en una de las historias más icónicas de la década de los 90´s, uno de los aspectos que más la hace memorable es la moda manejada en la misma, y es que al estar contando la vida de unos jóvenes de buena posición económica específicamente de una chica para quien la ropa es de suma importancia, el apartado de vestimenta era algo a tener en cuenta, ahora bien lo que a mi parecer creo que los productores jamás imaginaron era el impacto que esto tendría tanto en la época como en las décadas futuras, y es que hoy por hoy muchos de los atuendos utilizados por Cher se convirtieron en pautas de inspiración para la creación de outfits más actualizados.
This film was a total box office success in its time and today is still loved and remembered by many, in fact it became one of the most iconic stories of the 90's, one of the aspects that makes it most memorable is the fashion handled in it, and is that to be telling the life of some young people of good economic position specifically of a girl for whom clothing is of utmost importance, The clothing section was something to take into account, but what I think the producers never imagined was the impact that this would have both at the time and in future decades, and today many of the outfits used by Cher have become inspirational guidelines for the creation of more updated outfits.
Justo el aspecto de la moda utilizado en esta película es una de las características que hacen de esta historia mi favorita, la personalidad de Cher tan dulce y distraída al mismo tiempo hacen que fácilmente puedas encariñarte con ella, y eso es algo realmente importante porque la trama ira básicamente en torno a ella, aunque es un personaje bastante egocéntrico, y se puede ver en todos los actos “desinteresados” que hace hacia los demás, esto no la hace pesada de ver ni la hace una protagonista con la que no lores conectar, de hecho personalmente yo conecto bastante con Cher, tenemos un montón de conductas y pensamientos similares y justo esto también hace que para mí sea casi imposible no ver esta película año tras año.

Aunque la historia tiene un romance yo nunca he sentido que este sea el foco principal de la trama, de hecho siempre lo he visto como un aspecto secundario de la historia, algo que inevitablemente ocurre en la vida de Cher pero que desde el inicio no fue el punto central de la historia, y para alguien que ama las películas románticas, que en este caso este aspecto sea secundario se siente bastante bien, porque hace la historia fresca y real. El entorno de amistades más cercano de Cher es de los aspectos más tiernos que hay, la incorporación de Tai (Brittany Murphy) al círculo de amigos también es algo que destaca por lo natural que resulta, si bien para Cher esto representa un proyecto y como tal trabaja para “refinar” a Tai, en ningún momento vemos comportamientos despectivos hacia ella, desde el inicio tanto Cher como Dionne tratan a Tai como su amiga cercana sin ningún tipo de distinción hacia ella, y esto resulta un detalle bastante lindo de la historia.
Although the story has a romance I have never felt that this is the main focus of the plot, in fact I have always seen it as a secondary aspect of the story, something that inevitably happens in Cher's life but from the beginning it was not the central point of the story, and for someone who loves romantic films, that in this case this aspect is secondary feels quite right, because it makes the story fresh and real. Cher's close circle of friends is one of the most tender aspects of the film, the addition of Tai (Brittany Murphy) to the circle of friends is also something that stands out because of how natural it is, although for Cher this represents a project and as such she works to "refine" Tai, at no point do we see derogatory behaviour towards her, from the beginning both Cher and Dionne treat Tai as their close friend without any kind of distinction towards her, and this is a very nice detail of the story.
Hace algún tiempo vi una entrevista de Alicia Silverstone donde comentaba que cuando le propusieron hacer el papel de Cher, ella inicialmente no quería hacerlo porque la premisa del personaje le daba a entender que era el de una niña mimada y ya, obviamente luego ella acepto y conforme se fue construyendo la historia, su perspectiva cambio rotundamente, jamás imagino el éxito que sería esa película a la que quizá muchos no le tenían fe. La película ahora se encuentra disponible en Netflix, y tal vez esta sea tu señal para ir a verla de nuevo o por primera vez.
Some time ago I saw an interview with Alicia Silverstone where she commented that when she was approached to play the role of Cher, she initially didn't want to do it because the premise of the character suggested that she was a spoiled child and that was it, obviously she accepted and as the story was being built, her perspective changed dramatically, she never imagined the success that would be this film that perhaps many didn't have faith in. The film is now available on Netflix, and maybe this is your cue to watch it again or for the first time.
