"The Day of the Jackal" is by far the most thrilling series I have watched in 2025 since it was released in December 2024 and there is a talk around the internet that this series is one of the best series produced so far in 2024. Thriller/Suspense is one of the favorite genre that I enjoy watching and to be honest I finished watching this in a day with one lunch break between because it was so captivating that each of the episode was filled with suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. One of my weakness is that I get too attached to thriller movies once I started watching it.
The TV series is based on the famous novel by Frederick Forsyth which is about a professional assassin- Jackal (the series is a modern adaptation to this novel), and Eddie Redmayne perfectly nailed the role as a Jackal in each of the episode. It looks as if he was too natural to play that role. After watching it, you will come to know that he is even too perfect to play as James Bond. Lashana Lynch also perfectly nails her role playing as a detective to hunt Jackal. You can see them playing cat-mouse chases.
Another lovable part of this series is the settings and location used in the series. The movie shows various locations around Europe where Jackal moves to get his job done, being chased by the detective and this makes series so much realistic. So, if you are fan of spy/thriller/murder/mystery movie, this is a must watch.
