For me, what was promised will always be a debt and although several months have passed, today I bring you these reviews that I told you about in December, it is nothing more and nothing less than the last two installments of the Baztan trilogy: Legacy in the Bones and Offering to the Storm.
▪️◾️Legado en los huesos◾️▪️
Estrenada en 2019, se trata de la segunda entrega de esta trilogía la cual para ser sincera fue la que más me causo terror, bajo la dirección una vez más, de Fernando González Molina retomaremos la historia de asesinatos y secretos familiares que se esconden tras el personaje de la Inspectora Amaia Salazar. Tiene escenas que para mí resultaron escalofriantes y que me mantuvieron pegada a la pantalla por 2 horas jajajajaja en este punto, la historia se vuelve mas tenebrosa y macabra con ciertos giros que me parecieron difíciles de creer hasta que no me quedo de otra, “LA MAMÁ” fue un punto mega clave en esta película (y en todas sus escenas de miedo). A pesar de lo buena que llego a ser esta película un pequeño problema que tiene es que hay muchas subtramas que te hacen perderte de la idea principal de la película Paganismo, catolicismo, sacrificios humanos, leyendas, asesinatos, magia, esoterismo, misterios familiares, maternidad, conciliación familiar en el trabajo… todos estos temas, y alguno más, aparecerán en un guion que parece no saber en qué centrarse. En resumen, podemos decir que la película quiere abarcar muchos temas sus dos horas de metraje, siendo quizá demasiado fiel al libro y a muchos de los acontecimientos que podemos ir encontrando durante su lectura.
Released in 2019, this is the second installment of this trilogy which to be honest was the one that caused me the most terror, under the direction once again, of Fernando González Molina we will resume the story of murders and family secrets that are hidden behind the character of Inspector Amaia Salazar. It has scenes that for me were chilling and kept me glued to the screen for 2 hours hahahahahaha at this point, the story becomes more dark and macabre with certain twists that I found hard to believe until I had no other choice, "LA MAMÁ" was a mega key point in this movie (and in all its scary scenes). In spite of how good this movie became, a small problem it has is that there are many subplots that make you lose the main idea of the movie Paganism, Catholicism, human sacrifices, legends, murders, magic, esotericism, family mysteries, motherhood, family reconciliation at work... all these topics, and some more, will appear in a script that seems not to know what to focus on. In short, we can say that the film wants to cover many topics in its two hours of footage, being perhaps too faithful to the book and to many of the events that we can find during its reading.
Aun así, la película es muy disfrutable, sobre todo en lo que respecta a la interpretación de su personaje principal donde Marta Etura vuelve a hacer un gran trabajo. Una pena que como thriller no termine de funcionar porque cuenta con una dirección de arte brillante y sus localizaciones logran arrastrarte al misterio propio de los valles de la zona.
Even so, the film is very enjoyable, especially with regard to the interpretation of its main character where Marta Etura again does a great job. It's a pity that as a thriller it doesn't work because it has a brilliant art direction and its locations manage to drag you into the mystery of the valleys of the area.
▪️◾️Ofrenda a la tormenta.◾️▪️
Es la película que cierra la Trilogía del Baztán, una de las producciones más producida del cine español reciente basada en las novelas de Dolores Redondo. Aunque esta película también tiene una duración de 2 horas, no me gusto tanto como la anteriores, siendo que le falto un poco mas de desarrollo a la trama y que terminaron optando por un desenlace sencillo para todos los temas que esta trilogía abarcaba, aún así siento que fue una excelente película que a pesar de no ser como yo la esperaba cumple bastante bien con las expectativas respecto a la historia. Un punto importante y que contiene un poco de spoiler a mi parecer, son las actitudes de nuestra querida inspectora con respecto a su fidelidad, por así decirlo jajajajajajajaja siento que obviaron su deslealtad y quisieron corregirlo con el final del personaje con quien tuvo el amorío.
It is the film that closes the Baztan Trilogy, one of the most produced productions of recent Spanish cinema based on the novels of Dolores Redondo. Although this film also has a duration of 2 hours, I did not like it as much as the previous ones, being that it lacked a little more development to the plot and that they ended up opting for a simple denouement for all the themes that this trilogy covered, even so I feel that it was an excellent film that despite not being as I expected it fulfills quite well with the expectations regarding the story. An important point and that contains a little spoiler in my opinion, are the attitudes of our dear inspector with respect to her fidelity, so to speak hahahahahahahahahahaha I feel that they obviated her disloyalty and wanted to correct it with the end of the character with whom she had the affair.
La trilogía del Baztan es una de las mejores trilogías que he visto porque abarca mis géneros favoritos, quizá no es la más novedosa pero sin dudas permanecerá en mi lista de recomendaciones por un tiempo, abarca tantos subtemas que aunque puedes llegar a perderte no te deja despegar la vista un segundo e incluso llegara un momento donde deberás repetir ciertas escenas para entender un poco mejor. Así que se las recomiendo a todos con los ojos cerrados Y si ustedes son tan fanáticos de la lectura como yo, les recomiendo también que lean los libros! Así podrán disfrutar y quizá entender un poco mejor este maravilloso largometraje. En mi experiencia puedo decir que los libros convertidos en un fenómeno de masas suelen ser excesivamente ligeros, pero Redondo (nuestra autora estrella) sorprende con reflexiones sobre el aprovechamiento de la fe para manipular a las personas, y la peligrosidad de las sectas, que pueden enganchar a cualquier persona.
The Baztan trilogy is one of the best trilogies I have seen because it covers my favorite genres, maybe it is not the newest but it will certainly remain on my list of recommendations for a while, it covers so many sub-themes that although you can get lost it does not let you take your eyes off for a second and there will even come a time where you will have to repeat certain scenes to understand a little better. So I recommend it to everyone with my eyes closed. And if you are as fanatical about reading as I am, I also recommend that you read the books! So you can enjoy and maybe understand a little better this wonderful feature film. In my experience I can say that books turned into a mass phenomenon are usually excessively light, but Redondo (our star author) surprises with reflections on the use of faith to manipulate people, and the danger of cults, which can hook anyone.
