I thought I would find it hard to come up with just three Korean dramas that fall into the Rom-Com genre as most of the Korean series I've seen are Rom-Com with a few fantasy and action genres I've seen. Making out this list wasn't so hard for me as these three series came to mind immediately I thought about sharing my favourite Rom-Com Kdrama. I'm choosing to have this list for recommendation to you reading this and also for my keep so I could refer to it anytime.
I'm a huge fan of kdrama series, I know a lot of persons here know that already but I'm not sure I've shared how I came to love kdrama... The main reason is a series I saw about 12 years ago. It's a long time already but the drama scenes still play in my head like I saw it just last month. You'll get to read about the drama that made me love kdrama series.
So I made a list and I'd appreciate your thoughts on them but most importantly, you're welcome to check them out. You'll need subtitles to understand them and I'm promising you won't regret you saw them because they are all comedy loaded with lots of romance to get you blushing and feeling emotional haha. I guess this goes without saying that the list is highly recommended to those who love the genre - Rom-Com in movies.
Boys Before Flowers - Top One
The very first Rom-Com Korean Series I saw that changed my movie watch list. It was released in 2009 and I got to see the whole series in 2012, having 25 episodes of refreshing scenes that has stuck in my brain. The drama was so popular and had a high rating on every movie sites. No wonder because seeing the drama explained why. I could give a long detail of how the drama is but I'm choosing to share a few with my thoughts on it and why I have it as my number one on the list... The characters and storyline.
The series is about four handsome and rich students being overly respected at school but everything changed when a girl from poor background got a scholarship to attend the school. The scenes that followed after she had her second encounter with the boys who were popularly called F4, was so hilarious but full of romance and thrills.
I love the characters, in fact I feel like I'm a stalker to one of them as I've seen most of the series he has starred in since after this drama. I've seen a few of the others too, I must say they are all my memorable characters. The storyline is a full package for me as it reflects on friendship, love, backgrounds, student lives and lots more, so much to learn from as well.
It's an old series so I only got my desired trailer in this form, do see it or go ahead to start downloading for a sweet time with this drama.
Strong Woman Bong Soo - Top Two
Oh my! I can't stop laughing whenever I think about this series, I had my mouth wide opened laughing in most of the scenes while seeing this particular drama and that is all thanks to the lead character. I could easily say I love the characters in this drama for it to be in my top two but there are two more reasons that made it stand out so much for me. It's a 2017 released series with 16 episodes of comedy, romance and fantasy... Interesting combination, don't you think? What I love most about this kdrama is the Lead characters chemistry and fantasy
I just couldn't get enough of the lead characters because they showed so much of how characters should connect well on scene. The chemistry was so noticeable that most of the online review of this drama had a comment about it from fans and viewers. The drama is about a young girl who was born with super strength and she is employed by a rich guy to body guard gun against a threat, he ended up teaching her how to put her strength under her control and use it well.
I could bet that fantasy aspects of the drama was more entertaining and super funny which made this drama stand out a lot for me. The characters played their roles well but I'll give a big kudos to our main girl who played the strong woman role.
A few seconds watch of this trailer would get you wanting to know about our strong woman Bong Soo, you should add this to your watch list if you're yet to see it.
Crash Landing On You - Top Three
The most recent and most memorable Korean series I've seen and is filled with comedy before the romance 😂 you may not believe it but I'm laughing right now because the scenes are playing back up and I could remember the scene where the lead lady crash landed in the lead guy's world, the beginning of comedy and romance which the drama is all about. It's a 2019 released series with 16 episodes. I was surprised I had not seen this series long before I finally did but I'm happy I have and now have those amazing scenes in my memory haha. The conflict and romance are my favourite in this drama.
The drama is about a southern rich woman who was trying out her new project but unfortunately landed herself in the the northern part of Korean, both parts had a huge peace conflict. She met a high ranking officer who later had to help her hide away from security so she doesn't loss her life as a spy to the country. The two bonded alongside with his colleagues and it became a difficult thought to go their separate ways as they couldn't solve the conflict between both sides.
The romance was at it's peak when they all had to go against rules just to be together and be happy, this drama made me learn about Korean "in country" dispute even though I'm sure it has been resolved to extent if not totally. The Comedy is amazing too, you might not stop laughing in some scenes until it's over lol.
What do you say about my top Rom-Com kdrama series list? I feel so good having them written down here actually haha. Have you seen any of them? I'd love to know what you think about the ones you've seen
