After the boom of movies based on video games or iconic toys and the success that these brought with them, I feel that the spectrum has opened a little more to generate more content related to it and that can be an advantage or disadvantage depending always on the final material they get with these stories, so since it was announced another movie based on a game I knew I wanted to see it, plus it is of a horror game, giving more reasons to see it, so today I want to talk about the movie called "Five Nights At Freddy's", let's start with the review.

This movie released on October 27, 2023 is an American production based on the video game franchise that bears the same name of the film and this belongs to the genre of supernatural horror and suspense. In the story that we are presented our protagonist is a young man with various attitude and financial problems, which makes many things difficult and in order to maintain custody of his sister of 10 years, our protagonist accepts a job as a night security guard at a theme restaurant, where as the days go by, our protagonist discovers that there are many things that are not what they seem in that restaurant.
Let's talk more in depth about the film, the first thing we see is a security guard trying to escape from something that we can't see, but we can appreciate the fear that the security guard has and although he tried to escape, he ends up being caught and when he wakes up, he is subject to a kind of chair and there is a kind of mechanical mask in front of him, which slowly approaches with the intention of hurting him and causing his death, but, although he tries to escape, he does not succeed, starting the film with a small introduction with some hidden messages in his animation.

The next thing we see is our protagonist named Mike, who takes care of his little sister Abby. While Mike is at work he fixes his eyes on a little boy who is taken away by a man in a somewhat aggressive manner, so Mike runs to catch this man and starts beating him in a rampant manner, but then we find out that this man Mike beats up was the boy's father, which causes Mike to lose his job and attends with a job counselor to get another job.

In this short interview we discover that it is not the first time that Mike does something that causes him to lose his job, to which the labor counselor indicates that it is not easy to get a job for him given the circumstances and when Mike is about to leave, the counselor tells him that he has a job available as a security guard, a simple job, with a low salary, but it is the only thing he can offer him, but Mike refuses when he indicates that the job is at night, in the same way the labor counselor gives him his card in case Mike changes his mind and so he leaves.
More and more problems are adding to Mike's life, among them, his aunt decides that Abby can no longer live with him and will take him to court if necessary, this pushes Mike to accept the job as a night guard, because, if his aunt takes him to court, having a job can help him a little to keep custody of Abby. Mike calls the job counselor to accept, he tells him the job to do and the situation at the restaurant, but there is something else going on there and Mike doesn't know it, but it won't be long before he is the victim of many strange things.

The rest of the movie I will leave it as an unknown for those people who want to see it so they don't have any spoiler from me, so I will continue giving my opinion about the movie starting with its story, I must clarify from the beginning that I have never played the game on which the movie is based, I only have a vague idea of what they are about, but I must say that independently of the game, it is a story that to my personal taste works, at least it kept me entertained at all times, but I must mention that it was not the kind of movie I was expecting, that doesn't have to be bad, but it is different and curious.
Something I want to mention is that in the movie there are many clear references to the games, honestly there were not many that I could catch because as I mentioned before, I have not enjoyed the games, but with those references that I could catch and reading some opinions of other people who do know the games, the truth is that the movie is a kind of fan service with all the material they show and with the amount of references in it, so it seems to me that for the connoisseurs it can be even more enjoyable than for those of us who don't have much idea of what the games are about, but this doesn't detract from the entertainment of the movie.

A point that could be debatable is the production of the movie regarding the antagonists, I mean, for me that I have seen how they are in the games (since it is the first thing you learn when someone talks about the games), I think that in the movie they look pretty good and faithful to their original versions, I mention that it is debatable because there will be other people who do not like them so much, but this is a more personal issue and simply a matter of taste, but you should know that the investment for the creation of the movie was not as big as in other productions, so based on that, I consider that the final result was quite good.

Something I have not talked about and it is the most important thing, at the beginning I said it was a horror and suspense movie, but I must say two things about this, first that the suspense is certainly very present, many scenes where they leave you with your heart in your throat for not knowing what will happen next, with that they perfectly fulfill their function, but the horror aspect is debatable too, terror generated me the appearance of our antagonists, but in the rest of the film they used a lot of slasher, which I can understand to some extent I know that in the game is practically what is most, but I think it was not necessary to do it that way in the film or at least not so much, but even with that I think it does not bother at all and ultimately fulfills its function of causing terror at certain times.

Luego del auge de películas basadas en videojuegos o en juguetes icónicos y el éxito que estos trajeron consigo, siento que se ha abierto un poco más el espectro para generar más contenido relacionado a ello y eso puede ser una ventaja o desventaja dependiendo siempre del material final que obtengan con estas historias, por eso desde que se anunció otra película basada en un juego sabía que quería verla, además que es de un juego de terror, dando más motivos para verla, por lo que el día de hoy quiero hablarles de la película llamada “Five Nights At Freddy's”, comencemos con la reseña.

Esta película estrenada el 27 de octubre del año 2023 es una producción estadounidense basada en la franquicia de videojuegos que llevan el mismo nombre de la película y esta pertenece al genero del terror sobrenatural y el suspenso. En la historia que nos presentan nuestro protagonista es un joven con diversos problemas de actitud y financieros, lo que dificulta muchas cosas y para poder mantener la custodia de su hermana de 10 años, nuestro protagonista acepta un trabajo como guardia de seguridad nocturno en un restaurante temático, donde a medida que avanzan los días, nuestro protagonista descubre que hay muchas cosas que no son lo que parecen en ese restaurante.
Hablemos más a profundidad de la película, lo primero que observamos es a un guardia de seguridad intentando escapar de algo que no logramos ver, pero se aprecia el miedo que tiene el guardia de seguridad y aunque intentó escapar, termina siendo atrapado y cuando despierta, está sujeto a una especie de silla y hay una especie de máscara mecánica frente a él, la cual se acerca lentamente con intenciones de hacerle daño y ocasionarle la muerte, pero, aunque intenta zafarse, no lo logra, dando comienzo a la película con una pequeña introducción con algunos mensajes ocultos en su animación.

Lo siguiente que vemos es a nuestro protagonista llamado Mike, quien se hace cargo de su hermana pequeña Abby. Mientras Mike se encuentra en su trabajo fija su vista en un niño pequeño al cual un hombre se lo lleva consigo de una forma un tanto agresiva, por lo que Mike corre para atrapar a este hombre y empieza a golpearle de forma desenfrenada, pero luego descubrimos que este hombre al que Mike golpea era el padre del niño, lo que ocasiona que Mike pierda su trabajo y asista con un consejero laboral para conseguir otro trabajo.

En esta corta entrevista descubrimos que no es la primera vez que Mike hace algo que ocasione que pierda su trabajo, a lo que el consejero laboral le indica que no es fácil conseguirle un trabajo para él dadas las circunstancias y cuando Mike se dispone a irse, el consejero le dice que tiene un trabajo disponible como guardia de seguridad, un trabajo sencillo, con un salario bajo, pero es lo único que puede ofrecerle, pero Mike se niega cuando le indica que el trabajo es nocturno, de igual manera el consejero laboral le da su tarjeta por si Mike cambia de opinión y así se marcha.
Cada vez son más los problemas que se suman a la vida de Mike, entre ellos, su tía decide que Abby no puede seguir viviendo con él y lo llevará a juicio de ser necesario, esto impulsa a Mike a aceptar el trabajo como guardia nocturno, ya que, si su tía le lleva a juicio, el tener trabajo le puede ayudar un poco a mantener la custodia de Abby. Mike llama al consejero laboral para aceptar, éste le indica el trabajo que debe realizar y la situación del restaurante, pero hay algo más sucediendo ahí y Mike no lo sabe, pero no tardará en ser víctima de muchas cosas extrañas.

El resto de la película lo dejaré como una incógnita para aquellas personas que deseen verla y así no tengan ningún spoiler de mi parte, por lo que continuaré dando mi opinión sobre la película empezando por su historia, debo aclarar desde un principio que yo nunca he jugado el juego en el que está basada la película, sólo tengo una vaga idea de qué tratan, pero debo decir que de manera independiente al juego, es una historia que a mí gusto personal funciona, al menos a mí me mantuvo entretenido en todo momento, pero debo mencionar que no era el tipo de película que me esperaba, eso no tiene por qué ser malo, pero es diferente y curiosa.
Algo que quiero mencionar es que en la película hay muchas claras referencias hacia los juegos, honestamente no fueron muchas las que pude captar porque como mencionaba antes, no he disfrutado de los juegos, pero con aquellas referencias que sí pude captar y leyendo un poco algunas opiniones de otras personas que sí conocen los juegos, la verdad es que la película es una especie de fan service con todo el material que muestran y con la cantidad de referencias en la misma, por lo que me parece que para los conocedores puede ser incluso más disfrutable que para aquellos que no tenemos mucha idea de qué van los juegos, pero esto no le resta entretenimiento a la película.

Un punto que podría ser debatible es la producción de la película en cuanto a los antagonistas, quiero decir, para mí que he visto el cómo son en los juegos (ya que es lo primero que aprendes cuando alguien habla de los juegos), me parece que en la película se ven bastante bien y fieles a sus versiones originales, menciono que es debatible porque habrá otras personas a las que no les gusten tanto, pero ya esto es un tema más personal y de gustos simplemente, pero deben saber que la inversión para la creación de la película no fue tan grande como en otras producciones, así que basándome en ello, considero que el resultado final fue bastante bueno.

Algo de lo que no he hablado y es lo más importante, al principio decía que era una película de terror y suspenso, pero debo decir dos cosas con respecto a esto, primero que el suspenso ciertamente está muy presente, muchas escenas donde te dejan con el corazón en la garganta por no saber lo siguiente que ocurrirá, con eso perfectamente cumplen su función, pero el aspecto de terror es debatible también, terror me generaba la apariencia de nuestros antagonistas, pero en el resto de la película utilizaron mucho los slasher, cosa que puedo entender hasta cierto punto sé que en el juego prácticamente es lo que más hay, pero pienso que no era necesario hacerlo de esa manera en la película o al menos no tanto, pero aún con eso me parece que no molesta del todo y a fin de cuentas cumple con su función de causar terror en ciertos momentos.

Finalizo diciendo que es una película que recomiendo ver, no es una gran obra maestra, pero es el inicio de algo que podría ser una gran saga de cara a futuro si deciden seguir por ese camino, por lo que si pueden darle una oportunidad a la película no se van a arrepentir.
