En el mundo del cine cada vez más se observa que de una simple (y repetitiva) idea se utiliza para ser desarrollada como una franquicia, la cual depende de muchos factores, como por ejemplo quien debe ser protagonista, lo cual es lo más importante y lo que es la verdadera esa la base de esa producción; los otros simples complementos como sus motivos, antagonistas y el mundo donde se desenvuelve toda la historia, también tiene su importancia, pero al final, todo depende de la visión que tenga el personaje principal; muchas películas o franquicias puedo tomar como ejemplo de lo que describo en este párrafo, pero estoy seguro de que en los últimos años, no hay ninguna que haya creado un impacto positivo como lo ha hecho la franquicia basada en "John Wick", la cual en tan solo su primer film, se pasó de ser una simple historia de venganza a enseñar un mundo fascinante lleno de asesinos a sueldo y eso descubrió un potencial enorme de esta historia que en este año estrenó su cuarto episodio el cual reseño en esta publicación.

Por fin pude ver el cuarto episodio de la posiblemente mejor franquicia de acción en los últimos 10 años; me refiero a la serie de películas basadas en el asesino a sueldo que después de estar retirado, decide regresar a su antigua y violenta vida para obtener una merecida venganza; hablo de "Baba Yaga", el gran "John Wick" que en esta cuarta parte en dónde nuevamente la venganza es el motivo principal para llevar a cabo una serie de enfrentamientos que dejarán un alto conteo de cadáveres por varias ciudades en el mundo y es que la organización secreta "The High Table", tiene a un nuevo encargado para imponer control a quien quiera rebelarse contra ellos, eso hará que lo que parecía ser una gira violenta de despedida por parte de John, se convertirá en una cacería en dónde nuestro protagonista se enfrentará a antiguos conocidos y a nuevos enemigos para poder obtener otra vez, su libertad.
I finally got to see the fourth episode of possibly the best action franchise in the last 10 years; I mean the series of movies based on the hitman who after being retired, decides to return to his old and violent life to get a well-deserved revenge; I'm talking about "Baba Yaga", the great "John Wick" that in this fourth part where again the revenge is the main reason to carry out a series of confrontations that will leave a high body count for several cities in the world and is that the secret organization "The High Table", has a new person in charge to impose control to whoever wants to rebel against them, that will make that what seemed to be a violent farewell tour by John, will become a hunt where our protagonist will face old acquaintances and new enemies to be able to obtain again, his freedom.
Así como ha sucedido en las anteriores tres películas de esta franquicia, Chad Stahelski nuevamente se hace cargo de la dirección; en esta oportunidad su trabajo en el desarrollo de las escenas de acción me hicieron recordar a las vistas en el primer film, aunque hay otras que si mantiene el ritmo visto tanto en la segunda como tercera parte; posiblemente este director quería que el espectador disfrutara más de ciertas coreografías tanto en las escenas de peleas como en dónde el uso de armas de fuego es lo primordial; creo que al contar con actores que superan los 50 años de edad, creo que se sintió la necesidad de hacer lenta ese tipo de escenas sabiendo que el enfrentamiento principal debería ser impactante; estas características no son para criticar el trabajo de Stahelski, sino que quiero señalar que posiblemente decidió que ritmo tenía que presentar cada diferentes escenas para no hacerlas tan repetitiva.
Sé que cada una de estas historias tiene como motivo principal la venganza o las consecuencias de los actos que realizan cada personaje que habita en un mundo de asesinos, pero que dependen de ciertas reglas para crear un tipo de orden, pero en esta oportunidad creo que existe otro tipo de motivos para el desarrollo de esta historia en específico, por ejemplo, así como sucedió en el primer film, la venganza es el motivo primordial para el desarrollo de la historia que va cambiando mientras vemos cómo un supuesto mundo de reglas, puede ir cambiando mientras beneficien a otros y perjudiquen a otros y eso sucede nuevamente en esta oportunidad en dónde hombres que cumplieron un servicio, viven de un falso retiro y cuando son obligados a regresar se les acusa de que esa es su naturaleza y creo que justamente ese es en parte uno de los temas principales del film que aparte de la acción, está enfocada a relatar cómo una persona que tuvo una vida llena de violencia, debe terminar sus días; eso me pareció genial y necesario al darle a este personaje y a otros un pensamiento o motivo diferente que les haga razonar y tratar nuevamente de cambiar.

I know that each of these stories has as its main motive the revenge or the consequences of the acts performed by each character that inhabits a world of murderers, but that depend on certain rules to create a kind of order, but this time I think there is another kind of motive for the development of this specific story, for example, as well as it happened in the first film, revenge is the primary motive for the development of the story that keeps changing as we see how a supposed world of rules, and that happens again in this opportunity where men who served a service, live in a false retirement and when they are forced to return they are accused that this is their nature and I think that's just one of the main themes of the film that apart from the action, is focused on telling how a person who had a life full of violence, must end his days; I thought that was great and necessary to give this character and others a different thought or motive that makes them reason and try again to change.

En este cuarto episodio, existen muy buenos personajes como es el caso de "Caine" interpretado por Donnie Yen, posiblemente sea uno de mis artistas marciales favoritos y en esta película es perfecta su interpretación de este asesino que sin importar qué pasado lo une a Wick, él deberá hacer lo imposible para poder cumplir su acuerdo; otros personajes que me parecieron geniales fue "Akira" y "Koji", las inte de Rina Sawayama e Hiroyuki Sanada, son excelentes, sus personajes son correctos, buenas escenas de acción y puedo decir que el personaje de "Akira" es de los que más me ha gustado en este film.

A pesar de que está es una película con un relato más pausado y mejor desarrollado en toda la franquicia, John Wick 4, alcanzó mis expectativas que tenía sobre film, no me importó tanto su duración porque justamente pienso que el director y los guionistas no querían repetir el ritmo vibrante que tuvo por ejemplo la tercera entrega y pensaron en dividir en diferentes momentos del film una serie de escenas de acción para crear impacto en sus fans; personalmente pienso que la última hora del filme algo que sorprende mucho porque a pesar de todo lo que enfrenta el personaje principal, creo que existe vulnerabilidad física y mental y eso lo hace mejor, lo hace diferente y nuevamente repito, lo lleva a esa versión que se demuestra muy brevemente en el primer film. Alabo el trabajo de Keanu y Donnie que sin importar la edad que tengan cumplen con muchas de las escenas de secuencia de acción y eso la hace más creíble y disfruta; también debo decir que, Stahelski ha demostrado cierta evolución en las escenas de acción y que seguramente se verá un trabajo mejor en futuros films que pertenezcan o no a esta franquicia. Solo me queda invitarlos a ver esta película, la cual abre las puertas de otras historias enfocadas en algunos personajes que aparecen en este film, por los momentos nos tocará esperar hasta el próximo año cuando "Ballerina", primer spin-off de "John Wick", sea estrenada.
Although this is a film with a slower and better developed story in the whole franchise, John Wick 4, reached my expectations I had about the film, I did not mind so much its length because I think that the director and screenwriters did not want to repeat the vibrant pace that had for example the third installment and thought of dividing at different times of the film a series of action scenes to create impact on their fans; I personally think that the last hour of the film is something that surprises a lot because despite everything that the main character faces, I think there is physical and mental vulnerability and that makes it better, makes it different and again I repeat, it takes him to that version that is demonstrated very briefly in the first film. I praise the work of Keanu and Donnie that no matter how old they are they fulfill many of the action sequence scenes and that makes it more believable and enjoyable; I must also say that, Stahelski has shown some evolution in the action scenes and that surely a better work will be seen in future films that belong or not to this franchise. It only remains for me to invite you to see this film, which opens the doors to other stories focused on some characters that appear in this film, for the moment we will have to wait until next year when "Ballerina", the first spin-off of "John Wick", will be released.
