La 94.ª edición de los Premios Óscar quedó manchada por la bofetada que dio Will Smith a Chris Rock
El día de ayer se llevó a cabo una nueva edición de los premios Oscars; estos premios que en cada año lucha por volver a ser relevantes y atraer a un nuevo público que cada vez más está más desconectado de estos eventos en dónde la incógnita de saber quién ganará no es parte de estas premiaciones porque desde mucho antes de su entrega ya hay una clara noción sobre quién ganará; está decadencia de este importante premio cada vez es más evidente y no importa que idea popular sea usada, el final siempre será el mismo. En los premios de ayer puedo hacer una lista de lo que molesto a críticos de cine, fandom y público en general y puedo hacer una referencia a lo único positivo que ocurrió en esa noche, pero todo quedó completamente opacado por el evento bochornoso que ocurrió entre los actores Chris Rock y Will Smith, dos personas que hicieron lo peor para crear una escena lamentable.

Yesterday took place a new edition of the Oscars; these awards that every year struggle to become relevant again and attract a new audience that is increasingly disconnected from these events where the unknown of who will win is not part of these awards because long before its delivery there is already a clear notion of who will win; this decadence of this important award is increasingly evident and no matter what popular idea is used, the end will always be the same. In yesterday's awards I can make a list of what annoyed film critics, fandom and the general public and I can make a reference to the only positive thing that happened that night, but everything was completely overshadowed by the embarrassing event that occurred between the actors Chris Rock and Will Smith, two people who did their worst to create a pitiful scene.
Siendo sincero este debe ser la peor edición de los Premios de la Academia que he visto; no tengo ninguna duda que todas las ideas utilizadas para captar altos ratings no dieron los resultados esperados, por ejemplo cortar siete relevantes entregas de premios para hacer tiempo y mostrar breves presentaciones musicales de las nominadas como Mejor Canción, no fue algo bien hecho porque creo que de todas las nominadas solo tres presentaciones eran esperadas; lo otro fue crear dos premios para que el público en general votarán y al final el anuncio de los ganadores ocurrió fuera de transmisión, lo otro fue las tres presentadoras con los cuales sus chistes no fueron para nada buenos y en dónde una de estas mujeres reciclo chistes de otras personas y los hizo suyos; todos estos factores junto a qué los ganadores era previsibles, convirtió a todo esto en un mal show el cual deberá por siempre agradecer a la horrible situación entre dos actores afroamericanos en dónde uno agredió físicamente a otro.
To be honest this must be the worst edition of the Academy Awards I have ever seen; I have no doubt that all the ideas used to capture high ratings did not give the expected results, for example cutting seven relevant award shows to make time and show brief musical presentations of the nominees for Best Song, it was not something well done because I think that of all the nominees only three presentations were expected; the other was to create two awards for the general public to vote and in the end the announcement of the winners happened off-air, the other was the three female presenters whose jokes were not good at all and where one of these women recycled other people's jokes and made them her own; all these factors together with the fact that the winners were predictable, turned all this into a bad show which will forever have to thank the horrible situation between two African American actors where one physically assaulted the other.
En este momento, al referirme de lo ocurrido entre Rock y Smith quiero decir que es netamente mi opinión y que si alguien esté de acuerdo o no, solamente quiero decir que están en la libertad de poder dar su pensamiento de lo ocurrido y que justamente esto para mí no es una competencia sobre quien tiene la razón o no porque como siempre he dicho todos tenemos diferentes puntos de vista en un tema amén específico y esto es algo que siempre podemos compartir y así crear un debate razonable. Desde el comienzo de esta temporada de premios al cine, Will Smith se convirtió en el claro favorito para ser el ganador como mejor actor y es por eso que en la noche de entrega de los premios a la academia, era de esperar que él sería el ganador; está es una noche que Smith esperó por más de 20 años, más que nada desde su nominación por su actuación en el film "Ali" estrenado en el 2001, lo que seguramente no esperaba este actor era que sucumbiría a los chistes hechos por otro actor y comediante afroamericano hacia su esposa, Jada Pinket Smith, el cual se burló sobre la alopecia que padece la también actriz desde finales del año pasado y que la llevó a raparse todo el cabello para así poder superar y no caer en traumas como posiblemente sea la depresión; la reacción que tuvo el futuro (en ese momento) ganador del premio Oscar a mejor actor, fue el ir hacia el comediante y propinar una bofetada que después vino acompañada de insultos y una petición la cual era que no usará nuevamente el nombre de su esposa para sus chistes; sin ninguna duda y tal como le referenció el agredido físicamente de la noche, un momento histórico en la televisión norteamericana.
A primer momento que ocurrió este suceso pensé que era algo planeado entre los dos actores, después pude escuchar las palabras de Rock y los insultos de Will y fue ahí en dónde verifique que esto no fue actuado; lo ocurrido entre estas dos personas empañó y opaco todo lo malo y lo poco bueno de la noche, actores con más experiencia tuvieron que mostrar calma en sus palabras, tal como lo hizo Denzel Washington, Anthony Hopkins y la ganadora a mejor actriz Jessica Chastain; creo que justamente esa era la forma de tomar nuevamente el control de este horrible show, no volver a usar malos chistes o tener a Travolta bailando en el escenario haciendo más incómodo todo, pero así siguió está entrega de premios hasta llegar al momento en dónde Will Smith volvería a subir al escenario para esta vez recibir el premio que espero por buen tiempo y que ahora lamentablemente ha sido empañado por un mal chiste y una peor reacción.
At this moment, when referring to what happened between Rock and Smith I want to say that this is my opinion and if someone agrees or disagrees, I just want to say that they are free to give their thoughts on what happened and that for me this is not a competition about who is right or wrong because as I have always said we all have different points of view on a specific subject and this is something that we can always share and create a reasonable debate. Since the beginning of this movie award season, Will Smith became the clear favorite to be the winner as best actor and that's why on the academy award night, it was expected that he would be the winner; this is a night that Smith waited for more than 20 years, mostly since his nomination for his performance in the film "Ali" released in 2001, what he surely did not expect was that he would succumb to the jokes made by another African-American actor and comedian towards his wife, Jada Pinket Smith, who made fun of the alopecia that the actress also suffers from since late last year and that led her to shave all her hair to overcome and not fall into traumas such as possibly depression; The reaction of the future (at that time) winner of the Oscar for best actor, was to go to the comedian and slap him in the face, which was then accompanied by insults and a request which was not to use again the name of his wife for his jokes; without any doubt and as referenced by the physically assaulted of the night, a historic moment in American television.
At the first moment that this event happened I thought it was something planned between the two actors, then I could hear the words of Rock and the insults of Will and it was there where I verified that this was not acted; what happened between these two people tarnished and overshadowed all the bad and the little good of the night, actors with more experience had to show calm in their words, as did Denzel Washington, Anthony Hopkins and the winner for best actress Jessica Chastain; I think that was the way to take back control of this horrible show, not to use bad jokes again or have Travolta dancing on stage making everything more uncomfortable, but that's how this awards ceremony went on until the moment where Will Smith would come back on stage to receive the award that he has been waiting for a long time and that now unfortunately has been tarnished by a bad joke and a worse reaction.
Ahora, todo lo antes dicho es referente a uno de los ganadores de la noche, pero ¿Qué sucede con el otro protagonista de esta mala historia? Creo que puedo decir poco sobre Chris Rock, comediante que no recuerdo si ha vendido nuevos shows a diferentes cadenas televisivas en los últimos años, protagonista de un Revival/Secuela de "SAW" y que desde anoche para mí fue el verdadero ganador de este show; Chris espero y aguanto el golpe y estoy seguro de que todavía no estamos conscientes de como aprovechará este momento siendo el villano y a la vez un héroe para muchos. Yo en un momento pensé y hasta lo escribí en mi cuenta de Twitter que tal vez de los muchos chistes que pudo decir sobre Smith, prefirió decir uno sobre la esposa de este actor y que seguramente deberá en un futuro pensar mejor que decir, pero la realidad es otra porque en el 2016 cuando fue el conductor de este show realizo un chiste sobre la Jada Smith, en dónde habla que el boycott que quiso liderar está actriz con esa edición de los Oscars no tenía ningún valor porque ni siquiera ella estaba invitada, entonces está no es la primera vez que hace un chiste sobre esta mujer en una transmisión mundial y en los Oscar y pienso que esa rencilla, esas palabras desde hace seis años fue el detonante para el disgusto de esta pareja y llevo a la equivocada reacción del famoso actor.

I think I can say little about Chris Rock, comedian that I don't remember if he has sold new shows to different TV networks in the last years, protagonist of a Revival/Sequel of "SAW" and that since last night for me was the real winner of this show; Chris I hope and hold the blow and I'm sure we are still not aware of how he will take advantage of this moment being the villain and at the same time a hero for many. I at one point I thought and even wrote it on my Twitter account that maybe of the many jokes he could say about Smith, he preferred to say one about the wife of this actor and that surely he should in the future think better what to say, but the reality is different because in 2016 when he was the host of this show he made a joke about the Jada Smith, where he said that the boycott that this actress wanted to lead with that edition of the Oscars had no value because not even she was invited, so this is not the first time he makes a joke about this woman in a worldwide broadcast and at the Oscars and I think that this grudge, these words from six years ago was the trigger for the displeasure of this couple and led to the wrong reaction of the famous actor.
Este post no lo hago para darle importancia ni al chiste ni a una agresión, creo que lo sucedido anoche es algo completamente equivocado, algo que no debió suceder y que deja en evidencia de que nadie se alegra por el bien de otros; en el 2016 Chris Rock estaba en su mejor momento de carrera humorística, eso lo llevó a ser conductor de la entrega de los Premios de la Academia y para ser sincero sus chistes fueron muy buenos, con una buena base de crítica a la sociedad y haciendo una buena petición para la comunidad que representa, pero el chiste de la noche de ayer, fue vil y bajo; pienso que nadie (excepto Will) en esos premios sabe lo que debe estar pasando Jada con su enfermedad y que seguramente se llenó mucho de valor y de apoyo de sus seres queridos para ir a esos premios a apoyar a su esposo y se que todos usan y dicen "Así es la comedia" "Debió aceptar el chiste y reírse", pero como dije anteriormente, solamente Will Smith sabe lo que vive su esposa y lamento que su reacción haya sido violenta porque si estoy de acuerdo con la defensa, pero no en que se haya levantado a golpear a Rock porque eso le dio importancia a todo lo ocurrido, lo volvió el ganador, le dio nuevamente fama, que todos hablarán nuevamente de él y eso seguramente era lo que esperaba este comediante que hoy debe tener llamadas para dar alguna entrevista, algún gran show en dónde exprima todo lo que le sucedió en ese momento. Por los momentos hay diferentes noticias sobre lo que sucedió después al finalizar los premios, Rock no levanto cargos contra Will quien a su vez en su discurso de aceptación excuso su lamentable actuación diciendo que hizo lo mismo que el personaje que interpretó y que le hizo ganar este gran premio, se disculpó con sus compañeros de actuación, pero no a quien agredió y a pesar de eso fue de igual forma ovacionado y aplaudido por todas las personas presentes, todo un grave bochorno que arruinó aún más a estos premios. No sé qué sucederá en el futuro en los Oscars, creo que a partir de lo ocurrido en la noche de ayer, tal vez haya alguna censura sobre que chiste decir y cuál no y esto es malo porque pienso que la libertad de expresión es un medio con mucho valor y lo que hay que cuidar es saber ser graciosos y no usar la comedia como una arma para atacar a otros, lo otro es que si para los próximos premios el presentador o presentadores no salen con escoltas o un gran grupo de seguridad con franelas que diga "Anti-Will" entonces no aprendieron nada.
I am not making this post to give importance neither to the joke nor to an aggression, I think that what happened last night is something completely wrong, something that should not have happened and that leaves in evidence that nobody is happy for the good of others; in 2016 Chris Rock was in his best moment of humor career, that led him to host the Academy Awards and to be honest his jokes were very good, with a good base of criticism to society and making a good request for the community he represents, but the joke last night, was vile and low; I think no one (except Will) at those awards knows what Jada must be going through with her illness and that she surely took a lot of courage and support from her loved ones to go to those awards to support her husband and I know everyone uses and says "That's comedy" "She should have taken the joke and laughed", but as I said before, only Will Smith knows what his wife is going through and I am sorry that his reaction was violent because yes I agree with the defense, but not that he got up to hit Rock because that gave importance to everything that happened, made him the winner, gave him fame again, everyone will talk about him again and that surely was what this comedian was waiting for and today he must have calls to give some interview, some great show where he squeezes everything that happened to him at that moment. At the moment there are different news about what happened after the awards, Rock did not bring charges against Will who in his acceptance speech excused his unfortunate performance saying that he did the same as the character he played and that made him win this great award, he apologized to his fellow actors, but not to who he assaulted and despite that he was still cheered and applauded by all the people present, a serious embarrassment that ruined even more these awards. I do not know what will happen in the future at the Oscars, I think that from what happened last night, maybe there will be some censorship on what joke to say and what not to say and this is bad because I think that freedom of expression is a medium with much value and what you have to take care is to know how to be funny and not use comedy as a weapon to attack others, the other thing is that if for the next awards the presenter or presenters do not go out with escorts or a large group of security with T-shirts that say "Anti-Will" then they did not learn anything.
