It really does stand out on its own, but one thing I forgot to mention about the heavy chromatic aberration: it's an intentional effect that gives it more visual similarity to the original film which was shot on early digital and also suffered from that.
So it is clear in telling you where its roots are, it just doesn't do the same thing over and over like your regular franchise title
