For most people, you have probably already seen these films so it won't matter much to you but there are a few gems that will be departing the Netflix library at the end of this month and if you want to see them, you better get on top of it now because you only have a week left to enjoy them.
All of the Back to the Future films

For me, this is probably my 3rd favorite trilogy of all time just behind the original Star Wars films and Lord of the Rings. I think you would have to be either very young or in a cave to have not seen them before since they are some of the most beloved films of all time. Whether you are seeing them for the 20th time or the 1st, the BTTF films are just outstanding and not to be missed. They are leaving Netflix on July 1st so get in there!.
Dark Skies

Although certainly not on the level of Back to the Future, Dark Skies has a horror attribute to it that I personally enjoy in films and while the plot is a little difficult and convoluted, it is a pretty great ride with fantastic acting. Plus you get to see one of my favorite actors, J.K. Simmons just as his career was really starting to take off. Later in the year Whiplash would be released and Simmons would end up winning an Oscar for his performance in that masterpiece.
Gothika

It takes a while for the movie to get started but this psychological thriller will keep you guessing as it progresses. Not being able to see what is going to happen in a storyline is something that is very important to me and Gothika does a good job of this. Although critics didn't like it very much I found it to be thought-provoking and genuinely scary. It also stars Halle Berry alongside Robert Downey Jr. and they make a great team in this one. Get it while you can because it too will be gone, perhaps forever, from the Netflix library on July 1st.
Crazy, Stupid, Love

I can't say for sure but I think this is the first film that I started to realize that Steve Carell showed the world that he is not just a silly comedy star and is probably one of the best actors alive today. Ryan Gosling also shed his "just a hunky guy" shell and showed us the same. Again, you will not see where this film is heading but once you get there you will be surprised unless someone spoils it for you, which I will not. This movie will make you laugh, and cheer, and probably get misty-eyed at one point all in one package. I can't imagine why Netflix is doing away with this film but it probably has something to do with money. This is probably one of the best dramedies available on Netflix at the moment but it will shortly be leaving us!
Training Day

Denzel Washington has a plethora of really fantastic films in his repertoire but at least from my perspective this is one of his best performances in any role that he has played. Ethan Hawke does pretty well also but Denzel is definitely the star in this one. There are many twists to this story and a bunch of cameos by people that you might not expect to have acting chops including Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre... Ok, Dr. Dre does not have acting skills at all but he is in the film for a little while. Ever heard someone say "King Kong aint got shit on me!" ?? Well, this film is where that came from. Terry Crews also has a brief appearance and this was long before he became the A-list star that he is now.
Others worth noting but not worthy of their own section
- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - Yeah, it's for kids but I really believe that this film which features Mr. T in one of the voice acting roles is a lot of fun for adults as well.
- Twin Peaks: Seasons 1-2 - These aren't for everyone and are very confusing. However if you appreciate the bizarre mind of David Lynch it is definitely at least worth having a look and then downloading it later if you enjoy it. PRO TIP: If you aren't enthralled by episode 2, it is unlikely you are going to like the rest of them
- Scarface - Al Pacino's finest role if you ask me: This 1983 films was truly risqué given the time period. I'm surprised it made it past the censors given the high amount of sec and violence contained in it.
Of course there are other ways of getting these films outside of Netflix and I am certain that most people on this site are very aware of how to make that happen. However, if you appreciate the simplicity and accessibility of Netflix and you have a Netflix account already, you should probably get these films into your rotation in the next week because after that, they are gonna be gone.
