In a summer of uncertainty over the absence of big movies due to the corona pandemic, Netflix is trying to fill a gap this summer with action/sci-fi project power. At this time of year, we've always been the biggest blockbuster movies that create the event in the film industry, but unfortunately the blame is on Corona! Anyway, is this new Netflix movie a cinematic experience that will forget the cinematic void this year?
Project Power Story
Events take place in the American city of New Orleans, where strange pills are shown on the streets that give to those who are taken by superpowers for 5 minutes, supernatural powers that may be imaginary speed; A teenage drug dealer and a policeman unite with a former soldier to search and overthrow those behind the invention of these dangerous pills.
It seems from the synopsis that this Project Power movie is going to be exciting and cool, isn't it? All right... The film is great and exciting, but it has some problems, let's start with
the positives of the film.
Acting crew
One of the most important aspects of the film is its main characters, starring Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and teenager Dominique Fishbak, who performed in parallel with the film's action, sci-fi and comedy, thus drawing various expressions and bringing the elements of the story to the end with a performance that you enjoy.
Action and visual effects
The film can be classified in the category of action in the first place before science fiction or comedy, it contains very impressive combat scenes that make it worth being one of the best action movies this year, and perhaps that came thanks to many things, the most important of which was cinematography, which was very wonderful and added a nice touch to the picture in general, then there are the directors of the film "Ariel Shulman" and "Henry Joost" who recorded the film not full of action movies but they were able to provide scenes of breathtaking.
Since the pace of the film's events was not slow despite the film's duration of an hour and 51 minutes, the soundtrack came in a beautiful and new style that was very consistent with the events, which gave the film a beautiful sound sense.
What the movie failed. Part of the script!
The idea of the film is promising and you are more excited when you get to know it at the beginning, since the idea that there are pills given to those who eat different superpowers according to each grain, and at the same time these powers last their doing for only five minutes, comes to your mind that there are surprises that will make the film unique, and although there are surprises, the last third of the film (and the end) became like those endings known to most Hollywood movies.
Events have lost the thrill and anticipation that you created in us in the first, and you can expect the end from the start of the last third. It's as if the screenwriters are time-consuming to come to an end to the story of these exciting and exciting pills, or as if they were under pressure from the production studio to make the events simple, intuitive and dull until they quickly finish the script.
On any. Project Power is still a movie worth watching and you might enjoy it if you're looking for action, or you're looking for a new idea in the film medium (it may seem to some that the idea is somewhat inspired by Limitless, but the latter plays on superintelligence rather than superpowers), but the end may let you down!
