Having watched The Witcher was an encounter by chance because I didn't plan to watch it this month, nor the coming ones, but I can't deny I was once interested in this series before. However, the moment Netflix announced that they're replacing Henry Cavill, who's playing the Witcher, I somehow lost interest. I really like how he portrayed Geralt so I'm pretty disappointed that he'll get replaced for that role. But fate sure's a player because this afternoon, while I'm waiting for downloads to be completed, I—out of boredom—scroll to my suggested series and there I found the Witcher. Upon seeing their cover, my interest suddenly fired up, so I tried watching the first and then the next, then the next episodes—until now that I'm almost halfway through the first season!
The first few scenes of this series immediately captured my interest and it wasn't long when I was drawn into their world. Watching the first episode felt like stepping into an unknown yet familiar world. I have watched this kind of series way back in my fifth grade—with all the gore and interesting lore, yet I haven't finished it because, of course, when my parents knew what I was watching with my uncles, they forbade me to watch it again. However, watching this kind of stuff unlocked those memories, and they shocked and fascinated me again. The lore really intrigued me and watching everything felt like a treat for me.
From the dialogues to action scenes, I was really hooked on it that it even made me abandon my note-taking that I usually do while watching something. I don't have the best memory, so I do it often—but because I'm so immerse in watching this series, I haven't written any notes so far. Further, the settings captured my eye, and I was enthralled by how well they portray their world to the point that I was so drawn in it. But since I'm not familiar with the source material, I'm quite at loss about the specifics of the war—like what kingdoms are fighting and why they are fighting—but anyway, as I watched more of its episodes, I slowly get to know the gist of what was happening and why are the happening.
Also, what's more interesting is that its word building is definitely fascinating...from the different races, their traits and the power system, I felt that I'm going to know more about them soon, and that makes me feel really excited. It's like I'm feeling that teenage geeky giddiness all over again, and I know I'm bound to be deeply in love with this series. And even now that I'm making this, I'm excited to wrap this up because I'm eager to watch the rest of the first season. So if you want to watch a series with an interesting plot and lore, then you need to try watching The Witcher and together let's enjoy watching it!
I'm gonna go back watching it hehe...so see you in my review when I finish it!
