For some reason Venom turn out to be my kids favorite anti hero, so much that we went last year to watch The Last Dance and during the weekend decided to watch both Venom and Let There Be Carnage. After the first movie I really like it and though the Carnage movie would be even better, I remember watching the Spiderman animated series as a kid during the 90s and Venom with all the other symbiotes were by far my favorite characters so this movies were a dream come true for me but the second movie didn't do any justice to the franchise.

Its here were the Venom / Eddie thing happen, after living a crappy life alone, he was approached by a scientist who wanted to expose Carlton so he thought it was his chance for revenge but NOP, instead he got a symbiote bond with him and not any symbiote, Venom has this awesome personality, charismatic and very very violent for the fun of it, this mix between the two characters makes the most funny anti hero with Loki been in second place to make comparisons.
The rest of the movie develops around this toxic relationship and how Eddie is just the body and passenger since Venom rules for the most part, always having differences from this unattended alliance.

My plan is not to go over the hole story but to tell the basis that I like and enjoy the most and I think its the first half of the movie that is actually pretty solid, where Eddie's character and then throwing him into this bizarre situation where he is sharing his body with an Venom, watching them do all kind of stunts and killing "bad guys", my son told me the part he likes the most about Venom is when he fights and more arms come out of him like he is transforming, its like the bike scene when they were running away and Venom kept Eddie on the bike extending himself.
There are some really funny moments as Eddie tries to adjust to his new life style, like when Venom forces him to tell a restaurant hostess, "I have a parasite," only for Venom to angrily respond in his head, "Parasite?!", all those kind of inside jokes or even worst like when Venom tells Eddie "I am Venom and you are mine", its all this kind of events that makes it really cool to watch both evolve during their relationship. There are some other cool action scenes like when Eddie first realizes he is almost Mr Fantastic with the ability to extend his extremities when he fights armed goons in his apartment, with Hardy's panicked reactions giving out that funny horror reaction like he doesn't know whats going on and just don't want part of it.
As you can tell from my description of the movie its a lot of fun but I have to admit the hole "stop alien invasion" was not my favorite ending for the movie, is very straightforward as far as a superhero movie goes and its just too boring. Eddie and Venom fights Riot and Carlston by creating this huge explosion during the launch of a rocket, almost like they were sacrificing themself but thanks GOD, Sony didn't kill them right away.

I know by now a lot of people have seen Venom by now, specially with all the marketing the last movie had, I'm really going to miss Tom Hardy as Venom and only wonder who they picking next or will he become the Matt Murdoc of anti hero roles??. Venom was a very entertaining movie, very well balance between the drama, action, horror and humor but the ending doesn't do any favors to everything they build on the first half, its just to simple and flat of an ending for a movie that back then in 2018 was the very first movie about a symbiote, before that we had Spiderman wearing the black suit back in 2007 but he was still Spiderman, it was never like Eddie been control by Venom and letting the real monster go out, none the less I totally enjoy it but its not a mayor hit for me so I gave it a 7.5/10.
