I've been waiting for more than two years for the second season of Alice in Borderland to be released, and the time has finally come. A Japanese Netflix series, full of action, drama, gore, reflections on life, and love and friendship relationships. I remember watching the first season, which quickly grabbed me as I went through each episode, because of its intriguing premise and cozy mystery.
Long before The Squid Game became popular, and caused such an impact on viewers as we have seen in social networks, contests, parties, and other things, Alice in Borderland already appeared as one of the trends on Netflix, however, it did not cause That same impact because it didn't have the same publicity as The Squid Game, and it's a real shame because Alice in Borderland seems to me to be a much better series, with better, well-constructed characters, and a plot that truly penetrates the viewer's feelings.
The Japanese series only became popular after the 'boom' of The Squid Game, getting to compare them many times and making people (fans of the South Korean series above all) interested in Alice in Borderland since they were more eager to this type of action plots with life and death games.

He estado esperando por más de dos años que se estrenara la segunda temporada de Alice in Borderland, y por fin ha llegado el momento. Una serie japonesa de Netflix, llena de acción, drama, gore, reflexiones sobre la vida y relaciones amorosas y de amistad. Recuerdo haber visto la primera temporada, la cual me atrapó rápidamente a medida que pasaba por cada capítulo, por su premisa intrigante y acogedor misterio.
Mucho antes de que se popularizara The Squid Game, y causara tal impacto en los espectadores como lo hemos visto en redes sociales, concursos, fiestas y entre otras cosas, Alice in Borderland ya aparecía como una de las tendencias en Netflix, sin embargo no causó ese mismo impacto porque no tuvo la misma publicidad que The Squid Game, y es una verdadera pena, pues Alice in Borderland me parece mucho mejor serie, con mejores personajes bien construidos, y una trama que de verdad penetra en los sentimientos del espectador.
La serie japonesa solo se popularizó después del ‘boom’ de The Squid Game, llegándolas a comparar muchas veces y haciendo que las personas (fanáticos de la serie surcoreana más que todo), se interesaran por Alice in Borderland ya que quedaron con más ganas de este tipo de tramas de acción con juegos de vida o muerte.
Now, about my opinion and comparison of both seasons of the Japanese series, I must say that I liked both equally. I remember a lot from the first season, and as I watched the second, I had more solid episodes in my mind, so I think I can make a good comparison.
Although the first season, as I remember, had more action, the second focuses on learning a little more about the history of the main characters; their motivations, their inner obstacles, their lives before they came to that world of deadly games, their feelings and thoughts, we even get to see a powerful friendship connection that touches the heart in my opinion.
We will meet new and endearing characters already in the first chapters, such as Kyuma (the king of clovers); an individual with a certain particularity that teaches you the value of friendship and protecting those you care about. This character, which was one of the most moving for me, marked Arisu (Alice) a lot; leaving him those values that the young protagonist will need to continue his hard path in the search for the truth.
Ahora, sobre mi opinión y comparación de ambas temporadas de la serie japonesa, debo decir, que las dos me gustaron por igual. Recuerdo mucho de la primera temporada, y a medida que iba viendo la segunda, tuve episodios en mi mente más sólidos, por eso pienso que puedo hacer una buena comparativa.
Aunque la primera temporada, según recuerdo, tenía más acción, la segunda se centra en conocer un poco más la historia de los personajes principales; sus motivaciones, sus obstáculos internos, sus vidas antes de que llegaran a ese mundo de juegos mortales, sus sentimientos y pensamientos, hasta podemos ver una poderosa conexión de amistad que, en mi opinión, de verdad llega al corazón.
Conoceremos personajes nuevos y entrañables ya en los primeros capítulos, como por ejemplo Kyuma (el rey de tréboles); un individuo con cierta particularidad que te enseña el valor de la amistad y de proteger a los que te importan. Este personaje, que fue uno de los más conmovedores para mí, marcó mucho a Arisu (Alice); dejándole aquellos valores que el joven protagonista necesitará para continuar su duro camino en la búsqueda de la verdad.
I have read comments from people who say that this season has been much more 'heavy' and I feel the same, but not in the sense of contempt, but that the series takes its time to add all the elements that include a good story.
The drama and getting to know the characters in depth is something necessary to keep the plot alive, and in this sense, the Asians do an excellent job; since they are capable of creating truly moving characters, with whom the viewer (even if bored by the slowness of the narrative sequence) can connect.
Whether they are villains or not, the stories of each of them make an impact, make them more interesting and lead you to understand their situations and why they do what they do, like Kuina (Aya Asahina), a transgender girl with great skills in the arts. martial; We will find her story in more detail in the first season. There is also Chishiya (Nijiro Murakami), another interesting character and one of my favorites in the series, who we can see in detail how the circumstances and certain reflections of other individuals change his cold and treacherous personality.

El drama y conocer a profundidad a los personajes es algo necesario para mantener la trama viva, y en este sentido, los asiáticos hacen un excelente trabajo; ya que son capaces de crear personajes verdaderamente conmovedores, con los cuales el espectador (aunque se aburra de la lentitud de la secuencia narrativa) es capaz de conectar.
Sea villano o no, las historias de cada uno de ellos impactan, los hacen más interesantes y te llevan a comprender sus situaciones y el por qué hacen lo que hacen, como Kuina (Aya Asahina), una chica transgénero con grandes habilidades para las artes marciales; su historia la encontraremos más detallada en la primera temporada. También está Chishiya (Nijiro Murakami), otro personaje interesante y uno de mis preferidos en la serie, el cual podemos ver a detalle como las circunstancias y ciertas reflexiones de otros individuos, van cambiando su personalidad fría y traicionera.
This season has been for me a kind of transition in the behavior of the protagonists of the series, since each one understands that human life is important, and, therefore, they must do everything possible to survive in that world until the end. final. Although the excess of drama and emotion can be overwhelming, they make you philosophize about yourself, the environment that surrounds us, and about hopes. The idea that life is a game is so real and concise that we cannot avoid that truth; the allegory of the story is that you have to play to survive.
Shinsuke Sato's series has its effectiveness, but if we talk about the story, I still had some doubts. Making a comparison with what happened in the first season, it was still not very clear to me about the origin of the 'game organizers', something that I think they should have explained better in the second season since the end of the first only left us a brief explanation.
They should be more responsive to the unknowns and keep a balance between mystery and drama: Who are they? How did they get to that status? How can you become a game organizer? Is there still more? Are they all dead? And if there are still some alive, how many are left? To all these questions I need answers, however, the writers and the director did not bother to answer them.
Esta temporada ha sido para mí como una especie de transición en la conducta de los protagonistas de la serie, ya que cada uno comprende que la vida humana es importante, y, por lo tanto, deben hacer lo posible para sobrevivir en ese mundo hasta el final. Aunque el exceso de drama y emotividad puede ser abrumante, te hacen filosofar sobre ti mismo, el entorno que nos rodea y sobre las esperanzas. La idea de que la vida es un juego es tan real y concisa que no podemos evitar esa verdad; la alegoría de la historia es que hay que jugar para sobrevivir.
La serie de Shinsuke Sato tiene su efectividad, pero si hablamos de la historia, todavía quedé con algunas dudas. Haciendo una comparativa con lo sucedido en la primera temporada, todavía no me quedó muy claro sobre el origen de los ‘organizadores de los juegos’, algo que pienso que debieron explicar mejor en la segunda temporada, pues el final de la primera solo nos dejó una explicación breve.
Deberían responder más a las incógnitas y mantener un equilibrio entre el misterio y el drama: ¿Quiénes son? ¿Cómo llegaron a ese estatus? ¿Cómo puedes convertirte en un organizador de juegos? ¿Todavía hay más? ¿Están todos muertos? Y si todavía quedan algunos vivos ¿cuántos quedan? A todas estas preguntas necesito respuestas, sin embargo los guionistas y el director no se molestaron en responderlas.
I think they left it to the viewer's deduction, we'll probably have to watch the first season again and connect the pieces. The series keeps its mystery until the end and I like that, even if it is not satisfying enough.
I liked the second season of Alice in Borderland a lot, especially episodes 7 and 8, they always leave the best for later. Some characters only surprise you when you come back, and they were appropriate to make a significant impact. Although there are people who were not satisfied with the ending, because I suppose they expected something more extraordinary from one of the most anticipated series on Netflix, I think it was the most appropriate and the one that ended up explaining well everything that was happening; even if it leaves you with that gap of unknowns and mysteries. Anyway, that's the end of Alice in Borderland (the series), I don't know if the manga ends differently, but I'm sure it would better explain all this mess. With a feeling that leaves you pondering, I still consider it one of the best Netflix series.
Pienso que lo dejaron a la deducción del espectador, probablemente habrá que ver la primera temporada de nuevo y conectar las piezas. La serie mantiene su misterio hasta el final y eso me gusta, aunque no sea lo suficientemente satisfactorio.
La segunda temporada de Alice in Borderland me gustó mucho, especialmente los capítulos 7 y 8, siempre dejan lo mejor para después. Hay personajes que solo te sorprenden al volver, y fueron apropiados para causar un impacto significativo. Aunque hay gente que no quedó conforme con el final, porque supongo que esperaban algo más extraordinario de una de las series más esperadas de Netflix, yo pienso que fue el más apropiado y el que termina de explicar bien todo lo que estaba pasando; aunque te deje con ese hueco de incógnitas y misterios. En fin, ese es el final de Alice in Borderland (la serie), no sé si el manga termina diferente, pero estoy seguro que explicaría mejor todo ese embrollo. Con una sensación que te deja reflexionando, todavía considero que es una de las mejores series de Netfllix.
