When a movie has me smiling at the end of it as well as singing or dancing to the music playing at the end. Then it succeeded in capturing my heart 😍. Hence, I'm writing about it y'all.
Movie of the day “Set it up” a 2018 movie written by Katie Silberman and starring beautiful actors- Zoey Deutch as Harper, Glen Powell as Charlie, Lucy Liu as Kirsten and Taye Giggs as Rick. A lovely rom-com written I think in honour of all Personal Assistant’s (PA’s) in the world as well as writers who have lost there way or is it mojo plus those who work for working sake (no passion🤌) and say it's normal.
Like many interesting movies, It started out dryly then picked up momentum till its peak at the end. Loved every bit of it.
By the way I watched it passively whilst typing on my phone till I was humoured then it had my full attention.
Now to the break down... I hope I can be as straight forward as possible 🤞
SPOILER ALERT🚨
This is a movie about two personal assistants with shitty over-demanding miserable bosses. Not shitty entirely for shitty sake but shitty because they are both miserable. One is going through a divorce and pours all his frustration on his personal assistant who plans his day-to-day activities to the T as well as running the tiny bits of errands there is (like a slave boy literally) and the other which is Lucy Lui as Kirsten felt very old and needed to be laid made love to. I didn't say it though. It's all in movies I swear.
The two personal assistants Harper and Charlie by a struck of luck met each other at ordering a late night dinner for there bosses and hated each other instantly for many reasons and for both being cheap. One more than the other.

They met and shared foods for their bosses
Then they came up with an idea to set up there bosses to fall in love since they knew every nitty-gritty details about their bosses. There were so many curves, hiccups, big breaks and the likes. That each time there bosses hit it off - they had breaks and plenty free time + happy bosses and if it fell through the opposite was the case- lots of destruction of properties and yelling plus work over time as they don't close if their bosses doesn't.
The fail to which a naked clusterphobic was stuck in the elevator with them
Their many plots to get them together
It literally just gives you an overview of the life of a personal assistant or will I say a sneak peak
It was finally a success as they both planned to get married (their bosses I mean) just after meeting each other for a month solely on the puppet works of both P.A’s. There was a downside though- the divorcee was still having a s_x talk with his ex-wife and Charlie knew but because of his promised promotion due to both bosses getting married he let it slide without mentioning it to Harper (Zoey Deutch)
Harper by the way is a dreamy lovey-dovey sweetheart who was in for the sake of her boss finding love

The PA’s had bad relationships themselves and didn't know it. This statement was used in the movie
I think it will stick on my memory for forever
from the speech of Harpers room mates prewedding speech where she mention how her previous boyfriends were great with beautiful qualities then mentioning all the negatives about her finance who stated to get uneasy and uncomfortable then finished off with this statement made by her grandmother as an advice to her:
You like because... and you love despite...
Saying how she likes him just as much as she loves him. Which hit Harper who noticed that she is starting to like Charlie.
That was by my perception though.
Harper found out what Rick was doing when she went to pick up Charlie’s credit card and discovered Charlie knew.
Charlie said the most hurtful things
You are afraid not to be an assistant anymore, you've never written one article in all your free time. You prefer running on errands for Kirsten than to write an article and find out you suck.
when they went to pick up rings for their bosses. After Harper stated the obvious of Charlie wanting to become like Rick (a self-absorbed *******).
sorry I'm being biased and siding with Harper a bit
Harper went to expose everything to her boss who was jealous of her youthfulness and apologized for being shitty. But before she could finish off the expo she was fired and replaced instantly.
If you dislike being told the end of the movie (bigger SPOILER for me).
If you are like me? This is the end of the road my friend. Go ahead and watch the movie.
If you just want to know the end? God ahead you are welcome to read on.
Harper was miserable at first thinking she was bad until her roommate and best friend encouraged her or probably beat it into her to write something bad. The shittiest article ever written. And it worked.
Charlie realised he missed Harper and had a miserable life. Dumped his controlling model girlfriend. Got to the airport and publicly insulted his boss + quit his job and convinced Kirsten that she wasn't in love as well as rained high praises as Harper always sings.
Harper got her big break after turning down her previous job offered back.
They were both set up by Kirsten to meet in front of the building and mentioned their weaknesses and flops ending a movie with a deep KISS. 😘
You are not hard to get. You are hard to earn which is so much better. Charlie
