I remember many years ago, being a child I could see this film, of course it was not suitable for my age, but I as a child only understood the pure action of the whole film, but then many years later, when I was an adult, I saw this film again, and now I understood many of the circumstances and the plot that arises within this film, which was released in 1993, being shot during the year 1992, in a historical context, where some events happened, which were captured as part of the problems that fall on society, such actions as the riots in Los Angeles - United States, and of course the decline of a society, economically and socially speaking.
But, first of all, what is it that has to do with all the above mentioned with this filmography, and is that it justly makes a treatment on a character who appears to be calm, but in itself lives in a constant frustration for causes, which led to create an aggressive, angry and totally out of his mind individual. Although perhaps those who have seen this film, or those who are interested in seeing it, may feel some catharsis for all the facts, and is that in some ways are situations that can happen to us, unlike most of us who understand this society, we have the tolerance and patience to address the problems, but it was not so for the character William Foster, played by the well-known actor Michael Douglas, who was able to embody a character faithfully adapted to what was wanted for the script of this film.
Recuerdo que hace muchos, siendo un niño pude ver esta película, por supuesto no era adecuada para mí edad, pero yo como niño solo entendía la pura acción de todo el largometraje, pero luego muchos años después, ya cuando era un adulto, volví a ver esta película, y ahora sí comprendía muchas de las circunstancias y la trama que se plantea dentro de esta obra cinematográfica, que fue estrenada en 1993, siendo rodada durante el año de 1992, en un contexto histórico, donde sucedieron algunos hechos, que quedaron plasmado como parte de los problemas que recaen en la sociedad, tales acciones como lo fue los disturbios en Los Ángeles - Estados Unidos, y por supuesto la decadencia de una sociedad, hablando económicamente y social.
Pero, ante todo lo dicho, que es lo que tiene que ver todo lo planteado anteriormente con esta filmografía, y es que justamente hace un tratamiento sobre un personaje que aparenta ser tranquilo, pero en sí vive en una constante frustración por causas, que llevaron a crear a un individuo agresivo, iracundo y totalmente fuera de sus cabales. Aunque quizás a quienes hayan visto esta película, o a quienes se interesen verla, pueden sentir cierta catarsis por todos los hechos, y es que en cierta manera son situaciones, que nos pueden suceder a nosotros mismo, a diferencia que la mayoría de los que comprendemos esta sociedad, tenemos la tolerancia y paciencia de abordar los problemas, pero así no lo fue para el personaje William Foster, interpretado por el conocido actor Michael Douglas, quien fue capaz de encarnar un personaje adaptado fielmente a lo que se quiso para el guión de esta película.

A film, which was structured by its cinematographic language, through a trajectory and a cinematographic parallelism, where you can see the actions of the main character William Foster, who is in conflict for each of these circumstances, until reaching a fatal outcome, all for wanting to visit his daughter, who was celebrating her birthday, but this character had previously been dragging a series of problems, which were increasing their frustration, While in parallel is another main character of a police officer named Martin Prendergast, played by actor Robert Duvall, who at first had had a fleeting encounter with William Foster, and after learning of a series of criminal acts, would conclude that the author of all these facts, would be the same person who had committed all those facts, and who would face at the end of the film. Therefore we will see the development of the montage of this film in a parallelism between the two characters mentioned above, until they have their final encounter.
Como siempre suelo decir, cuando hablo sobre una película, no pretendo narrar la historia de esta película, sino abordar algunos puntos importantes sobre este largometraje, que pueda ser motivos para quienes leen este post, en su interés de verla. Película realizado con la dirección del fallecido director Joel Schumacher, que personalmente lo conozco por este trabajo cinematográfico y otros como Batman Forever, Batman and Robin y 8 mm, pero en su portafolio por supuesto encontraremos una cantidad elevada de películas que realizó hasta el día de su muerte.
Una película, que se estructuró por su lenguaje cinematográfico, por medio de una trayectoria y un paralelismo cinematográfico, donde se puede apreciar las acciones del personaje principal William Foster, que se ve en conflicto por cada una de esas circuntancias, hasta llegar a un desenlace fatal, todo por querer llegar a visitar a su hija, que se encontraba cumpliendo años, pero este personaje anteriormente venía arrastrando una serie de problemas, que fueron aumentando su frustración, hasta que este día llegó a estallar y pagar con sus acciones a todos que interferiera a su paso, mientras que en paralelo está otro personaje principal de un agente policial llamado Martin Prendergast, interpretado por el actor Robert Duvall, quien a principio había tenido un fugaz encuentro con William Foster, y luego de enterarse de una serie de hechos delictivos, llegaría a la conclusión que el autor de todos esos hechos, sería la misma persona que había cometido todos esos hechos, y a quien se enfrentaría al final de la película. Por lo tanto veremos el desarrolo del montaje de esta película en un paralelismo entre los dos personajes mencionados anteriormente, hasta llegar a tener su encuentro final.

Este largometraje, se considera dentro de la categoría fílmico como un thriller psicológico, todo debido a como podemos ver la tensión del personaje principal, quien se va desbordando poco a poco, hasta llegar prácticamente al borde de la locura, aunque también vemos como esta película se desarrolló varios planteamientos de acción, claro es una característica que primordialmen toda las películas deben tener, para el desarrollo de la trama.
Mientras, que también al ver esta película podemos ver ese planteamiento de parte del guionista y director, en desarrollar u personaje, como aquel monstruo creado por la sociedad, así como se pudo ver en películas como Joker (2019) de Todd Phillips, aunque por supuesto estrenada algunas décadas después de Falling Down (1993), donde ya se podía apreciar historias, donde el personaje principal llega hasta desbordar a casi llegar a locura misma.
