I took a glance at the title of the movie and I was transported to three years ago during the lockdown. I do not know about the rest of the world but the lockdown was a really terrible period for me.So many plans tarnished, hopes shattered and lives changed. It was chaos, so to say.

Many people who made it out of that period usually look back with so much regret but they forget the fact that many didn't even make it out with them. This in itself is a blessing. It got to a point when I thought the world was ending soon. The trumpet would be sounded and everything would end.
This was a major reason why I didn't want to see the movie Locked In initially,–the title. It already sounded like it was going to be doom-filled, just the same way the lockdown felt to many people.
About The Movie
Locked in revolves around a newlywed–Lina– who seemed fulfilled at first but whose fulfilment soon changed to unhappiness. Her cold-hearted rich mother-in-law didn't make things any easier for her, contributing actively to her unhappiness.
Locked in is a mystery, thriller, suspense, horror film directed by Noir Wazzi. Released on the first of November, 2023, the movie spans for an hour and thirty-seven minutes. An hour plus of thrills.
I can say for a fact the movie director paid special attention to the 'suspense' part of this movie. Right from the start, viewers were left with so many questions. What was happening? How did we get here? Where did it all go wrong?
cast
Fine Cole as Jamie
Jamie was an epileptic patient with a bunch of other illnesses. He got married to a loving and compassionate wife–Lina– who made him feel whole. Their love story was a really adorable one.
Jamie had a mom who was somewhat nonchalant. All he ever craved for was his mother's love but his mom was never in the mood to show this love.
In the end, things went south and Jamie began to lose it. However, he was a calm and easy going person so there was less violence and more verbal battles on his part.
Rose Williams As Lina
Lina looked like someone who genuinely deserved a good life because of the qualities she possessed.
Lina just married Jamie, the supposed love of her life but she soon realized that marital life she had was different from what she expected. A clearly demonstration of ' you have your plans and life had it's plans too'.
She was an embodiment of perseverance, forbearance and compassion. A really admirable and imitation-worthy character in my opinion.
Fanke Janssen as Katherine
Katherine was Jamie's mom and Lina's mother in law. She had a 'cinderalla and the step mother's kind of relationship with Lina. We all know that when mother's in law do not like you, living around them or worse, with them, because the hardest thing you'd do.
Katherine was more interested in maintaining her wealth and she could literally do anything to achieve this.
Alex Hassle as Doctor Lawrence
I saw Dr. Lawrence as one of the pretty actors but once his role started unveiling slowly, I had a change of mind.
Lawrence was a certified doctor but chose to be a fallmily doctor. Towards the beginning of the movie, he was very logical and said things that made very much sense. For instance, he made me remember one of my resolutions for this year 'go out more often'. A resolution that I went back on without a second thought.
My Opinion
This was a really subtle movie with a good but somewhat expected ending. You know when you feel like something is going to happen or you feel like a movie would end one kinda way but what you do not know is how? That is exactly how I felt.
Somewhere along the line, I felt like I had already seen this movie, when I in fact hadn't. I feel like the movie would have been better if a little bit more effort was added to it.
On the other hand, the actors were great. They acted out their roles pretty well and I would like to give them accolades for that. I can only imagine how much effort they put into making the plot a reality.
Recommendation.
I would gladly recommend this piece to anyone. If you're not so much of a movie freak or maybe you're taking a break from very serious horror movies, you should see this piece. It would be worth your will if you ever decide to see it.
However, I'd give it a 5/10 judging from the fact that I didn't even know it was a horror movie till the final scenes. This in itself is a good and a bad thing.
