I have always loved series where a character with a brilliant mind, almost a genius, helps the police solve cases. I can mention some of my favorites:
- Criminal Minds.
- The Mentalist
- Castle.
- Lie to Me.
- Sherlock
- John Doe.
Among others, which gave us many seasons or were cancelled too early for my taste, leaving me wanting much more. In short, the main attraction of these series has been a genius supporting the resolution of police cases with his incredible analysis and reasoning about the facts, surpassing the rest of the team and bringing his personal style to the series.
Siempre me han encantado las series donde un personaje con una mente brillante, casi un genio, ayuda a la policía a resolver casos, puedo mencionarles algunas de mis preferidas:

Entre otras que, nos regalaron muchas temporadas o fueron canceladas muy temprano para mi gusto, dejándome con ganas de mucho más. En fin, que el principal atractivo de estas series ha sido un genio apoyando la resolución de casos policiales con sus análisis increíbles y razonamiento sobre los hechos, superando al resto del equipo y aportando su estilo personal a la serie.
I'm watching the US version of the series "High Potential" because I realized that there is a "French" version that I haven't seen, but I really got hooked on the American version.
Its genre is Comedy and Police, so it's nothing as serious as "Criminal Minds", and that's precisely what hooked me, because it's very light to watch, it's not that it's funny where they tell jokes or make you laugh all the time as if you were watching an episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" with absurd situations. In "High Potential" it's based on the humor of characters, especially the eccentricity and lack of social skills of its protagonist Morgan, her high intelligence and her unconventional way of seeing the world, lead her to comical situations with her coworkers and her family. It's the humor in the dialogues, witty conversations and quick responses.
Estoy viendo la serie "Alto Potencial" en su versión de Estados Unidos, porque me di cuenta que tiene una versión "Francesa" que no he visto, pero realmente me quedé enganchada con la versión americana.
Su género es Comedia y Policía, así que no es nada tan serio como "Mentes Criminales", y eso es precisamente lo que me enganchó, porque es muy ligera de ver, no es que sea cómica que cuenten chistes o te estén riendo todo el rato como si vieras un capítulo de "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"con situaciones absurdas. En "Alto Potencial" se basa en el humor de personajes, especialmente en la excentricidad y la falta de habilidades sociales de su protagonista Morgan, su alta inteligencia y su forma poco convencional de ver el mundo, la llevan a situaciones cómicas con sus compañeros de trabajo y su familia. Es el humor en los diálogos, conversaciones ingeniosas y respuestas rápidas.
The series begins at the Los Angeles Police Department, with Morgan (Kaitlin Olson), who is the person who cleans at night, listening to music and accidentally messing up photographs and papers from a case. When trying to fix everything, it is inevitable for her to analyze the case and correct the whiteboard indicating "victim" to whom they have as a suspect.
The next morning the police find out who made those corrections, locate Morgan, take her to the station, interrogate her and she tells them that she has a very high IQ, which makes her an expert in quickly and efficiently solving situations such as police cases, so she will begin to work as an Advisor for that agency, solving cases and being an important piece in the team.

There are also other interesting characters such as his fellow police officers Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), Daphne Forrester (Javicia Leslie) and Lev Oz Osman (Deniz Akdeniz); I must confess that this casting is completely new to me, I did not know them. I only knew Lieutenant Selena Soto played by Judy Reyes, from her participation in series such as The Help and Wicked and also in Scrubs, although we have actually seen her in a lot of projects in supporting roles.

This series is currently airing, and as of this date it has only 4 episodes, each episode lasts approximately 40 minutes. It is funny, and manages to entertain throughout the entire episode, mainly due to Morgan's eccentric and sarcastic personality, although it also has emotional and reflective moments, which make you think about life and human relationships.
This series reminded me a lot of the series "Lucifer" and if you've seen it you can already get an idea of the type of humor that is used in "Alto Potencial" (High Potential). It is very similar in that sense.
Esta serie se está transmitiendo actualmente, en esta fecha tiene apenas 4 capítulos, que duran 40 minutos aproximadamente, es divertida, logra entretener durante todo el tiempo principalmente por la personalidad excéntrica y sarcástica de Morgan, aunque también tiene momentos emotivos y reflexivos, que te hacen pensar sobre la vida y las relaciones humanas.
Esta serie me recordó mucho a la serie "Lucifer" y si la viste ya puedes tener una idea del tipo de humor que se maneja en "Alto Potencial" se parece muchísimo en ese sentido.
The references that Morgan makes when explaining an analysis of a crime, he always explains with historical references, nationalities, science, etc. and it is always very interesting, it allows us to know real data and details during each chapter.
The rhythm of the series is very dynamic and does not allow us to get bored, that is to say it is quite dynamic.
The way it combines drama and humor, really does not go badly, you know how to pause in situations or in the same characters like Morgan, to attend to a dramatic situation, without seeming forced.
I loved the character of Morgan, I really like Kaitlin Olson's performance, I didn't know her as I mentioned, although she has a career of years, but generally in the comedy genre and I don't consume that genre that much. But in this series "High Potential" she plays a great role, she is credible, she doesn't seem forced and one manages to sympathize with her.
Las referencias que realiza Morgan cuando explica un análisis de un crimen, siempre explica con referencias históricas, de nacionalidades, de ciencia, etc. y siempre es muy interesante, nos permite conocer datos y detalles reales durante cada capítulo.
El ritmo de la serie, es muy dinámico y no permite que nos aburramos, es decir que es bastante dinámico.
La forma como combina drama y humor, realmente no les queda mal, ello sabes hacer pausar en las situaciones o en los mismos personajes como Morgan, para atender una situación dramática, sin parecer forzado.
Amé el personaje de Morgan, me gusta mucho la actuación de Kaitlin Olson, no la conocía como les mencioné, aunque si tiene una carrera de años, pero generalmente en el género comedia y no consumo tanto ese género. Pero en esta serie "Alto Potencial" hace un gran papel, es creíble, no se ve forzada y uno logra simpatizar con ella.
Although I loved Morgan's character and Kaitling Olson's performance, I think the costume they chose for her is too exaggerated, leaving her almost like Fran Drescher's "The Nanny", but much worse. I wish that in the following chapters, her character arc makes her evolve and adjust her wardrobe to the time and work activity since she now works for the Los Angeles Police Department.
I don't like that the Los Angeles Police Department depends so much on Morgan's work to solve cases. In the series "Criminal Minds" we had our child genius Spencer Reid, but the team that accompanied him in the series was very efficient, each one was important and valuable. I don't like series where the police are filler, people who are there to make things happen. I wish that as the chapters go by, they give more weight to the others, and it is seen that they are an efficient team.
Aunque amé el personaje de Morgan y la actuación de Kaitling Olson, creo que el vestuario que eligieron para ella es demasiado exagerado, la dejan casi como "La Niñera" de Fran Drescher, pero mucho peor. Deseo que en los siguientes capítulos, su arco de personaje la haga evolucionar y ajustar su vestuario a la época y actividad laboral, ya que ahora trabaja para el Departamento de Policía de los Ángeles.
No me gusta que el Departamento de Policía de los Ángeles, dependa tanto del trabajo de Morgan para resolver los casos. En la serie "Mentes Criminales" teníamos a nuestro niño genio Spencer Reid, pero el equipo que lo acompañaba en la serie era muy eficiente, cada uno era importante y valioso. No me gustan las series donde los policías son relleno, personas que están ahí para que pasen las cosas. Deseo que conforme pasen los capítulos le vayan dando más peso a los demás, y se vea que son un equipo eficiente.
I do recommend it, and I'm going to keep watching it. Maybe it's a repetitive premise, the genius police consultant, like "The Mentalist", but its dose of humor combined with drama has captivated me, it's a light and fun option that we often need to laugh, learn a little through the characters and have a good time.

Tal vez sea una premisa repetida, el genio asesor de la policía, como "El Mentalista", pero su dosis de humor combinada con drama me ha atrapado, es una opción ligera y divertida que muchas veces necesitamos para reírnos, aprender un poco a través de los personajes y pasar bien el rato.
