Succulents and cacti:
Succulents are plants that are characterized for storing water in their roots, leaves, and stems.
Las suculentas y los cactus:
Las suculentas son plantas que se caracterizan porque almacenan agua en sus raíces, hojas y tallos.
Cacti are also plants that store water in their leaves, but the difference with succulents is that they have thorns and these thorns start from a point that they radiate.
Los cactus también son plantas que almacenan agua en sus hojas, pero la diferencia con las suculentas, está en que presentan espinas. Y estas espinas parten desde un punto que irradian.
We can say then that all cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are cacti. I have a collection of many cacti. They exert a lot of attraction on me.
Cacti can reproduce through leaves, stems, shoots and seeds. They don't need a lot of water to survive, but despite what some people think they need to have moisture in their soil, not puddles.
The substrate must contain enough aeration to drain the water and not rot its roots and stems.
This is an aloe type cactus.
Podemos decir entonces que todos los cactus son suculentas, pero no todas las suculentas son cactus. Yo tengo colección de muchos cactus. Ejercen sobre mi, mucha atracción.
Los cactus pueden ser reproducidos a través de hojas, tallos, hijuelos y semillas. No necesitan de mucha agua para sobrevivir, pero a diferencia de lo que piensan algunas personas, necesitan tener humedad en su suelo. Más no encharcamientos.
El sustrato debe contener suficiente aireación para drenar el agua y no pudrir sus raíces y tallos.

What is it about?
It's a weekly contest, starts on Friday and ends on Thursday afternoon. To start again on Friday.

This contest deals with themes related to nature. For example, asking what do you do with a cacti or a succulent? you can develop any theme that your mind can reach... your creativity is the limit.

Es un concurso semanal, comienza el viernes y termina el jueves por la tarde. Para comenzar de nuevo el viernes.
Termina a las 6pm hora Caracas-Venezuela (GMT-4).
Daré el tema, y tienes 6 días para desarrollar tu publicación. Después de las 6pm, no aceptaré más entradas y el ganador se publicará junto con el nuevo tema de la semana.
Este concurso trata temas relacionados con la naturaleza. Por ejemplo, preguntando qué haces con un cactus o una suculenta? puedes desarrollar cualquier tema que a tu mente pueda llegar... tu creatividad es el límite.
