It's been a while since I shared any new looks at my comic project "I Thought It Would Be Zombies..." but over the past couple weeks I've managed a few posts over on my Instagram account, however I've been lax in dropping them here on HIVE! I think I just feel the pressure to make HIVE posts more substantial so here's a bundled roundup for your perusal!

This is the page I just "finished" today... finished being in quotes because I already realized a couple textures and elements I forgot to include! 😄 It features the first appearance of our trio of heroines... Sarah, Julie, and Bonnie. The page also needs lettering... which will primarily consist of expletives from Sarah there...

I'd also captured a look at this page during the pencil stage when I was figuring out some perspective and calculating the scale of the background objects. I'm sure it's not 100% correct but it's a new skill I'm learning and trying to implement with more consistency! I have to give props to comic book artist David Finch for some really solid perspective tutorial videos over on his YouTube channel.
And if you're curious about this particular point of view and just what it is that the gals are reacting to...

It's Dave, one of the other central characters of this post-apocalyptic fantasy tale! As you can tell... he's not doing so well right now. This was a preview of the inking process of the prior page. I'm still working on those colors as I skipped ahead to the ladies... I mean, how could I resist!
The plan is to begin releasing pages of "I Thought It Would Be Zombies..." online next week. Stay tuned for announcements on the various sites and platforms where you'll be able to read it! But of course, HIVE will be one of them... so you don't have to go elsewhere if you don't want! But if you're a webcomic aficionado you might just be able to find me and give a follow elsewhere as well.
While I don't specifically consider this a "webcomic," I'd like to release it that way as widely as possible, before collecting it into printed individual issues and larger collections down the line. With luck I can get some feedback and build more of an audience as I grind my way through the production of these issues!
Thanks for reading, and remember... you've got one week to prepare for the start of the apocalypse... I'll see you then!
